  1. Wanted to know that when going to POE other than the passport and the sealed envelope what other documents should be taken ?

How long is the process at the POE ?

What is the nature of questions that the POE officers may ask ??

    Kindly guide me - thanx

How was it in the end? I'm doing mine tomorrow from YUL!

  2. It is only two passport pictures of yourself, the applicant. When I interviewed I saw people with single binders..I used three large envelopes, a plastic bag, and brought a small purse for my wallet, keys, phone. If you read consulate specific reviews on visajourney, no one's ever been asked for additional evidence of their relationship's authenticity so I would limit the amount of documentation you bring.

  3. Hello everyone,

I had my interview on September 22 and my immigrant visa was approved on that day. My CEAC status changed to administrative processing on the 23rd, and it remains as AP till today. I'm so worried as it stays under AP for 3 business days now and it seems that the status date was updated daily as I checked it frequently everyday. Is this normal and anyoneis on the same boat? Thanks guys!

Maybe read the rest of the thread? Sounds like you're freaking out over nothing...

  4. My message was in reference to those registering for their interview at the US embassy in Montreal. I have no idea what the CEAC status has to do with anything. There are clear instructions on what to do should you have recieved an interview date and time and are unable to register which include sending an email to a specific email address that includes your case number and a copy of the interview letter.

  5. Can anyone confirm that I don't have to bring any letter or proof that it is not possible to obtain a police check from Indonesia?

My story: I am Canadian and five years ago I spent some time in Indonesia on consecutive and extended socio-cultural visas. We didn't include this information in our application and husband wanted me to lie about my time there, but i am not able to do that. Reciprocity page indicates that police certificates are not available from Indonesia, however Canadian immigration does insist on police certificates so there must be something that is available. I called Indonesian Embassy in Ottawa and they were no help. They redirected me to this email: giatmas.mbs@gmail.com that I've already contacted with no response. They also refused to write me a letter confirming that I cannot obtain a police certificate b/c I am missing particulars such as Kitas etc.

I am worried that my inability to procure anything to show proof that I could not obtain a police certificate will delay us. My interview is October 23rd. I thought it would be okay as I had spent under 12 months there, but the US embassy in Montreal wants police certificates for any place I've been for more than 6 months. I do not want to lie and embassy reviews indicate that they always ask if you've lived elsewhere.

I guess I just want some reassurance :(

  6. Hi all,

Applied for a CR-1 visa and reached the case complete stage on September 1st. Interview yet to be scheduled. I got my police certificate in Toronto and have since moved to Montreal. While going through the embassy reviews I saw that one user who interviewed in Vancouver was asked to re-submit their police certificate to include their middle name. Is this a real thing? My middle name only appears on my birth certificate - it's not on my driver's license, health card, or passport and I haven't used it at all during the process.

I ask because I will be visiting my husband in two days and so have a limited amount of time in which I can obtain this police certificate. Also it's unclear how to obtain it in Montreal - is it just the certificate of good conduct?
