  1. My wife & I filed in January 2019 to remove conditions on her Green Card, had biometrics done that April and we just received (May 2020) a RFE that we didn't submit enough evidence of entering into a "good faith marriage."

    We originally submitted:

    -Proof of joint auto insurance

-Bank statements/Credit card statements of our joint accounts

-Tax Returns(but only included the first page w/o signatures)--Didn't realize they needed to be hand signed

-Beneficiary declarations for both of our 401k

    We are planning on send

-Utility bills (they have always been in my name only and have just put my wife on)

    -Affidavits by two close friends

-Resending tax returns for last 3 years with the signatures on the first page.

-W2s from our employment to show that we both live at the same address

As far as residing together I already owned this home before we were married so she isn't on the loan or deed. We prefer to keep most of our finances separated and while she's only just been establishing credit in the last year, most of our bills are in my name.

My questions for you experienced folks:

-Do the affidavit letters absolutely have to be notarized?

-Will the first pages of our tax returns signed be enough or does the entire 100 page document need to be included?

Any other advice on evidence to send, photos, etc?

  2. My wife's green card expires 2/8/19(and subsequently driver's license expires same day), we sent I-751 last week, haven't gotten any updates to it being received yet.

Is she able to renew her driver's license in the meantime or do we need to wait for the receipt # from USCIS? I've seen conflicting information that some states will renew it without the # while others require it.

Anyone have any Arizona specific information on the process?

    Thank you!

  3. My wife's greencard expires 2/9/2019, we just sent the I-1751 today(1/22). I know we waited too long but due to finances this was the soonest we could file. Hoping that since we are local to Phoenix that might help in the package arriving quicker & get processed.

Anyone know if she hasn't received the receipt/letter by the expiration date if we just hang on continue to wait or if there's anything else we can do to show it's been submitted?

  4. While searching for advice on cover letters I noticed some people include a letter from their employer for the I-864 Affidavit of Support, but didn't see anything on that form that it's required. Is that just an extra piece of evidence or is it required?

Also does anyone have a comprehensive list of step by step everything that is required for the AOS, that breaks it down per form. (Especially any additional things needed for the I-765 and I-131?

    Thanks!

  5. My now wife, completed her medical December of 2015, had her interview shortly after and was approved, arrived in US March of 2016 and we are now starting the AOS process. Everything we had read on here and the AOS websites said her medical was valid for 12 months, but we've just looked at her medical paperwork from Knightsbridge in the UK and it says only valid for 6 months. How could it only be valid for 6 months when she may not have even been able to enter the US in those 6 months?

Anyone know a clear answer to this? We were going to get her vaccine info transcribe by a civil surgeon here but are now concern she may need a new medical?

  6. My fiance's interview is on Thursday and in going over the checklist to get ready she's somehow missed filling out the DS-260, but did do the DS-160. It's asking for an Invoice Number I've tried calling the NVC three times like others have suggested to get that number but just keep getting hung up on.......

Any other ideas? Is the DS-260 mandatory before the interview can something else be used for that invoice number if we can't get it?

  7. Help from those using the London embassy please!

I submitted the original petition back in September, November 19, my fiancé received a letter from the Embassy saying they had received an approval for our petition.

She went on to complete the 4 steps on their website, she then scheduled and has had her medical as of December 14th and on December 1st declared her Notification of Readiness.

Now it's January 2nd(I know there have been holidays) but hasn't heard or received any information on her interview being scheduled.

Her K1 Visa approval expires Feb 8th.

How long did it take for those in London to hear about their interview once they did the notification of readiness? How far in advance were you notified before your interview? Is there anywhere to contact to find out what's going on with our case? Every time I try to find a phone number it's non existent......

Any help is greatly greatly appreciated!

  8. Filling out this form while pending an interview date for my fiancé a couple of questions:

Question 11. I intend/do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the person

-Would a sufficient answer be providing room/board basic necessities until the change of status is taken care of my fiancé/wife at that point is able to work?

    -Supporting evidence:

Are pay stubs or W-2s sufficient?

-Question 7 "i own real estate valued at"

If I'm in the middle of purchasing a home do I need to disclose this information even if it isn't finalized yet?

    Thanks for any help!

  9. Hey everyone,

Just received notice that our case is being sent from NY to my finance's embassy in London, trying to gather everything up for her interview.

What does she need to show proof of financial support? I work full time as a retail manager and would make enough to support us, do I need to send her my pay stubs or does she show her bank info? Once we're married and her status is changed she'll be actively looking for work.
