It is the immigration rules I guess. He has to stay in the states for 2 years before he could travel any where. It applies to everyone.
No I doubt it's true
I myself traveled out of USA before I received my green card , I was studying in a school and so had to return , also I traveled back and forth every 6 months to maintain my green card . So just from my own experience I doubt it's true

Just to mention that he will be entering the states on a spouse visa and the day he enters he will be a permanent resident , I know that he will have to wait for green card for a maximum Of 120 days after he enters , before we contact them about not receiving the green card .

Thx for replying
Can you please tell me why he wouldn't be able to leave the states after he enters for two yrs?

Thank you
If anyone else can share their experience I'll appreciate

My husband got a visa in august and will be able to travel to USA with visa expiration of feb 2017, however he wants to visit pakistan to his parents before he enters USA .
Do you think it is advisable ? will it create a problem when entering USA for the first time ? He was given a package to hand over to the US immigration officers which is unopened.
Thanks in advance

Dear Sir/Madam,The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visacase. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where aconsular officer will adjudicate the applicant’s visa application.NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate Generaltells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a firstin, first-out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requesteddocumentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available. When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney(if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassy’s interviewrequirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience. The embassy may require additional documents at the interview. In particular, if the followingthree items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:He or she is more than 16 years old;The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; andHe or she still lives in the country that issued the certificate. The applicant should not make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment untilthe embassy has issued a visa.the Question is how long we have to wait for the visa interview letter ?Thanks in advance.

me and my husband both of us got the welcome letter in mail addressed separately, mine in USA and his in London - I m so confused that do I have to send in the papers only or both of us separately
my understanding is that I ll send in my AOS and financial documents with supporting documents in a single envelop .
he will send his supporting documents ( marriage certificate , police certificate , pictures , adoption certificate if any and marriage termination certificate if any) in a single package , it will take approx. 30 days for review and then he will get an interview . after he has submitted his interview fees ( which already shows paid)
Thanks for replying about change of address , I did not know that they will get a chance to change the address on DS 260 at interview or POE.

Thank you so much grad student for replying
does this mean that even though I have picture of marriage and traveling together I don't have to send that in ? my husband will have to send that in.
Also since im the only sponsoring person and my spouse is the only person who I sponsored , we can fill in I 864 EZ ?
one more question - I intend to move at a different address after may 28 but I have not send in a change of address form yet as I was here for another 6 wks approx. , now since we are in the process of filling DS -260 , it has this questions from the applicant - which address you intend to live after entering USA ? should I put my current address or send a change of address form and put my new address in there?
Thanks for all your help.

Me and m husband received letters from NVC asking us to send them the documents
there is a list which they have asked for the same check list which can be found on the website
the check list asks the same documents from me as well as my husband to submit
is it a general check list because looks like I as petitioner have to submit number 3 = IRS tax transcripts , federal income tax return forms W2 , evidence of income , proof of citizenship , proof of us status , social security earnings and proof of assets
looks like number 4 has to be submitted by my husband who is the applicant which includes adoption docs , birth certificate , court and prison records, marriage certificate , marriage termination documents , military records , petitioner documents , valid unexpired passport
police certificate , translations
my question is , is this true what I have understood ? or we both have to submit all of the documents what they have asked for and whatever apply ? as we both got the same check list?
Thanks for answering

I have applied for my husband to come to USA from England , it's IR1 visa. I have submitted the DS261 and the fee after choosing an agent . I'm still waiting on confirmation so that I can go ahead and start AOS submitted and the rest of info .
I'm im the middle of purchasing a property also in USA . Does it matter if I purchase the property because I'll be using the cash in my accounts towards the down payment or I should wait till all visa work is done ?
I have filed all my taxes regularly and I'm receiving a loan from the bank too for my property which was easily approved . I do have income source > 100,000 per yr
You guys think it will be a problem if I purchase the property now it it's better to wait ?
Replies will be much appreciated
Thanks
