MSC stands for Missouri Service Center it is the National Benefits Center, all our applications are first routed there. This is not the same as where he will do the biometrics. You can find the correct field office or application support center where he will do the biometrics on the USCIS website :)

He went to Rhode Island for the bio apt which we thought was weird since we live in Ma. That's why I was wondering since it is in a different state. So how would I look at his aos timeline on the website?

  3. We filed and they received it on Nov 17, the same day we got the NOA1 in the mail we also got his bio apt as well for December 9, still nothing. Our status hasn't changed either online other then the fee was received. Here is to hoping things change soon. I was wondering though with trying to track his AOS the field office was never listed or received a letter stating where it would be sent as well. This means it stays with NBC or where we went for his bio apt?

  4. OP,

To answer your original question "What did everyone else send along with the AOS?" here's what my husband sent:

    • G-1145
    • Payment in the amount of $1070.00.
    • I-485 with accompanying documentation:
      • Photocopy of the biographical page of his Brazilian passport
      • Photocopy of the K-1 visa page of his passport
      • Photocopy of I-797, Notice of action from U.S. spouse’s I-129F Petition
      • I-94
      • Photocopy of his birth certificate and translation
      • Original marriage certificate (The instructions say a photocopy is acceptable, but we had seen other cases on VJ where an RFE was issued because an original was not sent, so we decided not to risk an RFE and sent an original)
      • Two passport-style photos
    • G-325A and Supplement: Applicant’s employment last 5 years
    • I-693 with a photocopy of DS-3025 (He needed a flu shot to complete his immunizations)
    • I-864 with accompanying documentation:
    • Photocopy of U.S. spouse’s birth certificate
    • Photocopies of U.S. spouse’s IRS tax transcripts for the previous 3 years
    • A letter of employment from U.S. spouse’s employer
    • Photocopies of U.S. spouse’s Statement of Earnings for the last 6 months
    • I-765 with accompanying documentation:
      • Photocopy of the biographical page of his Brazilian passport
      • Two passport-style photos
    • I-131 and Supplement: Part 7. Complete Only If Applying for Advance Parole
      • Photocopy of the biographical page of his Brazilian passport
      • I-94
      • Two passport-style photos

We did not receive an RFE, and our case was forwarded to California for processing--we never had an I-485 interview.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck in your journey!!

This helps me so much! What did the paper look like for the immunizations, the 693? The only thing my husband received was a form saying he completed everything but there is no number on it and a list by the doctor of the immunizations that he received.

  5. a g325a is needed for the petitioner and the beneficiary

Do not send anything in until you get a RFE to do so

Do you know exactly what is to be sent? We haven't sent anything ye t but one list that is on here says a g325a but it doesn't say for who.

As well as the list that I have seen there are way more documents that they write that are needed then other lists I have seen. I just want to make sure that I get the right information then wait for a rfe.

  6. We are filing from my fiances k1 to his AOS we have all the documents almost together but I want to make sure that everything was all set with his medical. He got the needed vaccines required while he was over in South Africa and we have his CD and his sealed envelope.

We don't send that information in with his file correct/ or do we need to send those along? Also his medical was done last December and we are going to send it before the year mark is up on it. However by the time that his green card is issued will be over the mark of the year? Will it still be valid since we submitted before the year time frame was up on it?

Anyone that has gone through this and dealt with this similar scenario would be so much help!!

  7. hi

who told him that? that person doesn't have a clue

if he leaves or travels without the advance parole, he won't be able to return, and all the wait and cost for the k1 will be in vain, you will have to start all over, filing the CR1 visa with the i130, meaning you will now have to file a spousal petition and your husband will have the interview in his country after a year of waiting, since the process takes a year

so it's not worth travelling until you file the AOS and he gets the advance parole travel document to travel. it doesn't matter how long it takes

Ya we we aren't planning to travel till we file his AOS I can't lose him! We know that part but we were wondering after we file for the AOS and the advance parole to travel will it be fine since it will be out of the timing he arrived and the date on his visa.

  8. Sorry if this is in the wrong place I wasn't sure where to write this.

My fiancé and I got married in June he entered the United States on April 23.

We got married within the time frame. We haven't filled though for his AOS yet and the 90 days will be up. I know we have the 90 days to get married and we have but, because we haven't filed yet will trying to get advance parol to travel with his AOS present a problem. He has been told that because he is married and no longer is legal in terms of having some sort of visa when we go to travel and once everything goes through (we know we can't travel till we file and receive all proper documents) he will be banned for how ever long. We know there is no time limit to file for AOS but in terms of traveling after it is filed what happens.

Has this happened to anyone before and filed after a long period of time and was still able to travel after. We are hoping we aren't alone and some advice.

    Thank you!

  9. I am hoping someone may have some kind of insight to our situation and maybe had something similar happen to them as well. My fiance has an interview scheduled in South Africa for jan 14. We found out that the police clearance that was done through a company was not sufficient enough. We have put in a request for the right clearance though everything over there is delayed 10x over. We called the embassy and said we could reschedule or still proceed and clearly not get approved but still able to present the 134 and other papers needed so that the dates don't expire. I am just nervous that they will change their mind and not allow him to have the interview esp after traveling so far and the expiration of the financial papers.

Has this happened before to anyone where they did not have a document but was still able to proceed and get approved but with the condition of the clearance. He has no prior record and we have the sheet he first received as proof and will bring that with him as evidence as well.

    Thank you!

  10. Thanks, I'll get a new one. I used an agency last time, it was quick.

Off topic: The unabridged birth certificate is a NIGHTMARE to get from Home Affairs, find an agent to assist.

What agency did you use for e clearance and how long did it take. My fiancé submitted one through the saps but if an agency is quicker I want to try that too!

  11. i applied for my PCC 10 days ago for R96.00 and i just got it back. I applied directly from the police station.

This gives me such hope because we are so nervous about how long it is going to take! How long till they notified you that they received it? We sent my finances in but with all the holidays we are so nervous. Also where did you apply for it. He lives in Durban.

OMG!!! Wow!!! Congrats!!! I have never heard of anyone getting it back that fast! :)

Do you know of anyway to reach the police clearance building?! My fiancé has been trying desperately to reach them and make sure with the holidays it was received or see what their waiting time is.

  12. We haven't had our interview yet. Our lawyer suggested that we obtain a police letter from where he lived since it was longer than 6 months. I honestly would recommend you do that as well.

He was a former resident since he lived here on a h2b visa and on the website.... http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Supporting_documents.html

it says that you do not need to obtain a clearance from the US

  13. So what I did is my fiance worked in NH on a work visa for 7 months during one period of time and 6 months for another. All I did was I went to the town where his physical address was according to the visa and got a letter from the chief of police stating that he was a member of good standing for those time periods and that there is no criminal record. I just sent him the original letter signed by the chief of police to submit with the police clearance in SA.

We would rather be safe than sorry! Hope this helps you figure out what you're going to do. The Chief of Police typed it up the same day I called to request it and I picked it up a few hours later because I had to drive over an hour to pick it up!

Is that something they asked for when it came time for the interview? or just incase?

  14. Hi there

I am applying for my police clearance now in South Africa, I just wanted to ask you about the issues you had with regards to the wrong police clearance? Just want to make sure I do this right first time.

    Thanks in advance.

My fiance did a backround check but through his sisters company because they do them all on new hires and its run through the same data base that saps uses, well we got it back however it is not the official saps copy with watermark and logo so we have to start all over. The only way I believe that it can be done is through the saps website it lists how it works on there and what you need to do. It says 14 day turn around but I am not sure how accurate it is. He is going to call tomorrow since today is a public holiday. Also try to get your medical date set once you get your interview date. He went to joberg and they had one available before his interview that would give him enough time to have it done and sent to the consulate.
