  1. I haven't really been reading this site for a while and I was just noticing that it says in quite a few places that your fiance should get their SSN before you get married. We didn't do this! His POE was in Newark, NJ and he didn't get any SSN info there and we just assumed getting married ASAP was the best way. I'm confused at what my next step should be....

  2. I was just wondering, though I'm many steps away from this point, what the Interview consists of and if there are important things to say or not say, etc.

Also I'm currently waiting for my NOA2.

What documents should I be preparing for the next step, I'm sure it says somewhere but I'm easily confused with all this stuff..

    Thanks :D

  3. Ok so I'm pretty sure I can't do DCF as I am just visiting Germany, I have no residence here I was just planning on staying the 90 days and then returning to the states... I thought everything was a lot quicker and I would be able to be here with my boyfriend and do all the documents and have my dad send me everything that is sent to my home in the states, wait for my boyfriends interview and doctor appt. and then I thought everything would be all set and we could return to the States together. Obviously I underestimated what a long process this may be.

On another note, how do I get my timeline to show up when I post in a forum or is it just that I can't see it, only other users can?

  4. what's a DCF?..

Direct Consular Filing. Check the guides: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=compare

To apply for a K-1, you have to be a USC domiciled in the U.S., even if you're not residing there for the moment. Also, you need to supply them with a mailing address in the U.S. - your parents' house, for example.

Okay sorry to be really annoying with all the questions but, I just read up on the DCF and I don't understand.. typically it only takes 3 months!? why doesn't everyone do that instead of the K-1 then? I would definitely want to do that but I already started the process of my K1, I've recieved NOA1. Now that I've read this about the DCF I don't know why I didn't do that from the beginning.. It seems a hell of a lot easier..

  5. Ok so this is my first post here .. I'm totally confused with all this Visa stuff.. I am currently in Germany for a few months with my boyfriend.. actually I am planning on staying until his visa goes through. Is that allowed or am I supposed to be waiting for him in the States? I just read something that said after receiving NOA2 to send documents to fiance per mail for them to bring to the embassy. That definitely implies we shouldn't be in the same country or whatever.... Is that true??? :help:
