  1. We filed for my husband about a week ahead of you (Feb. 22,2016). We also received an RFIE on May 27. We turned it in on June 8. In our RFIE letter, it said that the case will be on hold until they receive everything they asked for. We got notification about 2 weeks later that his EAD was being printed, and then got it in the mail about 4 days later. So on the website, it says they received the RFIE info on June 8. We're just waiting for them to schedule an interview now. Sounds like you're on track. Good luck!

That's good news. I think there's nothing we can do now but to wait. Thank you :)

  2. Hi all, :luv:

I have filed for my AOS, EAD and Travel document last February 29, 2016. I'v done my biometrics last May but my online case status still hasn't changed (On April 1, 2016, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485,). Now I have received RFE for my EAD and Travel document and already sent them the necessary documents. Should I be worried about my case? It has been 2 months since they took my fingerprints but I haven't received any letter informing me of my interview date or if I will ever get one. :clock:

    Please enlighten me.

  3. Stamp for what exactly?

You include a copy of your marriage certificate with the I-485.

I don't know exactly. On my POE the immigration officer told me that as soon as we have our marriage certificate, we should go to the nearest immigration office to have our certificate stamped. What I know is that after our wedding we need to go to DPHS in order to have a certified true copy of the certificate. Is that correct?

  4. You can get the most recent IRS transcript and not need the W-2 for the I-864.

    Print out your I-94 info > https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/request.html

Follow this guide for getting the SSN > http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn

Follow this guide for AOS > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

The fees are listed here > http://www.uscis.gov/i-485

The fees for the I-765(EAD-work authorization) and I-131(AP-advance parole for travel) are waived when filed with a pending I-485, so include both of those too. It takes about 60-90 days to receive the EAD/AP combo card, which will allow you to work(along with an SSN) and re-enter the US when traveling abroad while waiting for the green card approval.

You need all the supporting documents for each form as well, so read the instructions for each one. You can also search here on VJ for what to include with each form if you get stumped. There are also example forms here on VJ you can look at when filling out the forms. They can be helpful.

And here are the details you need about whether or not you need to see a civil surgeon > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/551080-immunizations-ds-3025-or-i-693/

~ Moved from K-1 Process to AOS from Family Based Visas - topic is AOS, not K-1 ~

Thank you KayDeeCee :) For our Co-sponsor, he will be needing the W2 or the transcript right?

  5. Thank you so much for the information. It really helps a lot.

I guess for now we have no choice but to endure the pain of not being able to hug and bid goodbyes to our parents. Time flies so fast anyway. your first vacation with your green card would be the happiest.

By the way, when did you get your exam results from NMC. Did they give you the same day? or you have to go back for it?

True.. They told me to return on Monday. Do you have your vaccination records?

  6. Sad talaga at nakakaiyak pero ganun talaga kesa ma-detain ka masyado ng hassle kapag ganun.

Thanks sa inputs. just want to ask how long did the medical exam lasts? do they accept Friday appointment?

hahahaha oo nga. Im planning to see my parents outside the airport even just for few hours. It took half day for me to finish it. just come early because there are lots of people waiting for their appointments also. No, unfortunately, they don't have schedule on Fridays.

  7. Thank you for the reply Ms. Mira. We are still trying to get all the documents for the interview ready hopefully i will get all of them ready before the end of this week and I will be able to schedule my interview as well. Thanks for the inputs really appreciate it. I am staying in Hor Al Anz so it would be convenient for me to go to Empost. How much did you pay to the empost? Did you pay the full visa fee? and how much did you pay for the medical? I am planning to go to NMC for my medical.

If you will go out from the immigration then you are subject for security and immigration check when you come back to the airport. If I were you don't take the risk of going out because you never know what the immigration personnel will ask of you when you come back. Like Mae said even they you have all the documents they still have the power to retain you. I don't want to say anything bad about our immigration in the Philippines but I think its not worth taking the risk.

Thank you and good luck with your interview.

    Mary

Sad but true. I'll just probably stay inside the airport and wait for my flight. :crying::cry:

My advise is pay now so you can schedule your interview earlier and when you have your interview date you can gather all the necessary documents while waiting for the big day :). We paid 979 AED in Empost which is the full visa fee, you don't have to pay on the day of the interview. Yeah, I just finished my medical last Thursday in NMC Deira, it was 865 AED (525 for laboratory and 340 for the vaccination because I don't have my vaccination records with me).

  8. In the Philippines they said that after you get your visa you have to attend a seminar, I'm not sure if its like PDOS but similar. They will give you a certificate that you have attended the seminar. When you depart the immigration officer will ask for this certificate.

My advice is don't go back to the Philippines you might be hold in there and with the things going on with NAIA personnel right now who knows what else would they ask you, so I think it is safer if you would depart from the UAE. That is what I am going to do when all is well with my application :)

By the way Miss Mira, I am still on the process of scheduling my interview, can you please provide me some information.

    1) I have already submitted my DS160 form. Where do I need to pay for the visa fee. Can I pay in the embassy on the interview date?

    2) what are the requirements for medical exam? do you need to bring your original passport?

    3) how long did it take you to get an interview schedule? are you allowed to choose the interview date?

    I really appreciate your inputs

    Thanks

That is just so sad. Will I be able to go out of the airport if the flight i have, has a transit of 13 hours to the Philippines?

    for your questions,

    1. You need to pay in Empost. I paid mine in Hor Al Anz, Deira. for you to schedule your interview online. First you need to go to this site to register, https://usvisa-info.com/then print your confirmation page and pay in Empost.

    2. Yes you need to bring your original passport, 5 passport photo size, DS-160 confirmation page and your interview schedule confirmation.

    3. We submitted our application last June 30 and we had our NOA2 approval last August 29, received an email from Abu dhabi last September 3. I paid for my interview schedule last September 13 and i waited approximately 2 working days for the payment to be posted on their system, then I immediately scheduled my interview online based on the availability. My first interview date was on October 19 then I rescheduled it on October 8.

  9. Hi mae,

Yeah I was thinking of the same. but you know our immigration system, even if you have all the documents, they still have their own reasoning :protest: . I have heard of the same stories that's why I'm a bit worried. Anyways, you'll get your approval soon  Thank you and goodluck to you too. :)

  10. Hi,

Please help me. I have my interview on October 8, and if all goes well and our application gets approved, I would like to go home to the Philippines first and stay there for about a week or two, and I will enter USA from there. Is that possible? Because I'm scared that the Immigration in the Philippines would not allow me to go through even if I have my K1 visa with me.

  11. Hi,

    I need help / answers.

Our petition or NOA2 (for K1 VISA) is expiring this october 29, but my interview is scheduled on nov 15. Is there a possibility that the embassy can extend it. Im on a business trip for the whole month of October so there is no way I can get my done interview before the expiration date.

I called the consulate / embassy call center & spoke with at least 2-3 agents, however they have no idea what a k1 visa is, and they have no clue if the consulate can extend it or not. All they say is "We apologize but we have no information regarding your inquiry" This is quite aggravating :ranting:

    PLS HELP ANYONE?

You can go to usvisa-info.com and reschedule your interview online. I rescheduled mine once :)

  12. Does anyone know if for the New Medical Center Dubai do you have to make an appointment and approx. how long does the medical take?

You can just go to NMC at Deira, and bring 5 photos and your passport with you. If you don't have the vaccination record they will ask you to prepare 1,200-1,300 aed (vaccination included). You can come from Saturday to Thursday from 8:30 to 5pm. They said it will take around 3 hours for the exam and you can get the result within 2 to 3 working days.

  13. I have another question tho kind of related to this topic..

My interview date is November 15 however my NOA2 will be expiring this October 29. Is this a problem? Should I call the embassy call center to have them extend the validity of my noa2?

You can reschedule your interview online @ https://usvisa-info.com/based on the available schedules given. You can also request to expedite your interview on that site.

  14. You need to wait for AUH Embassy to email you the packet 3 which are instructions to set an appointment. Do not set an appoinment without receiving the email yet. :)

Thank you for this info chloroformgirl. Will wait for it

  15. Hi,

I hope someone will notice me. We just found out last 3-Sep-15 that our case is "Ready" for interview. How many days does it usually take for nvc to send the petition to the embassy? And how will I know if they have forwarded our case? Do we need to schedule an interview online even if we did no received the packet yet? and how do we schedule the interview in Abu dhabi usem?
