That is true but i wont be able to work for that 6 month period. I am not financially able to be unemployed for that long period of time.

Ok thanks so much to those who replied. I cant believe how much ive learned today!! So how do i get the K-1 form?? This is the first step in the process right?

Ive been reading on the forum all day..what a great site. I am a Canadian citizen who resides in Ontario and my boyfriend lives in Georgia. We've been dating for some months now, but its been so hard cuz we live so far away. I have visited him twice and he is planning on coming here soon. We want to take this relationship to the next level but its hard due to the distance. I am willing to leave Canada to get closer to him because i really think he's 'the one'. To make a long story short, what is the quickest way to get there and be able to work? Can u work in the US if you've been approved for a K-1 visa? And what is the average wait time for the visa? Thanks soo much to anybody that replies.
