  1. You'll need her birth certificate (long version if that exists in your country), her passport and 2x2 passport photos.

They'll also want to see proof of relationship between you and biological parent (that you already have) and proof of relationship between biological parent and child (letters/emails exchanged, pictures of them together and any proof of financial assistance).

    Thank you

  2. For the year Jan 1st to Dec 31st 2015 my husband filed the tax paper as single cause we got married on May 2015. He said he will file as married from next year. Will that be a very big problem?

My wife and i married on january 2015 but i still filed single for the tax year coz she still doesnt have a tax ID. I will file as married next year and it didnt cause any problem, we got approved.

  3. I petition for my parents on July. Got stransferred to potomac service certer. So mean we need start waiting again from beginning? Can everyone tell me? so confused.

    Thank you.

They keep the date when it was received before it got trasfered so dont worry. Plus i spoke to a friend of mine who works at uscis and said the increased the number of personnel reviewing the documents from 200 to 1000 people so your case will be faster now compared to us from oeevious months

  4. July 7 wifes case complete

July 8 step daughters case transfered from uscis to nvc, not yet in system

July 11 emailed nvc to get step daughters case expedited

July 12 nvc working on step daughters case

July 13 wife received notice of interview date

    July 19 wifes medical appointment

Aug 19 wifes consular interview Manila

After months of waiting, were on the final stretch. Wife called us embassy in manila and was told once step daughter gets her case number then they woyld be able to go to interview together.

Thanks visa journey for making it easy for us looking for immigration answers

  5. For Texas Service Center the processing time is over 4 months. If you got transferred to another service center, it means that they are probably trying to manage their case load. Since you don't know which service center it was sent to, it is hard to tell how much longer you will need to wait. It's possible that they sent it to the new Potomac Service Center for which there is no data yet as to how long they take to process cases.

What I suggest is to keep checking your case status here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

If there any updates on your case, this will be the first place you'll be able to see them.

However your case has only been processed for 2.5 months, so unfortunately the best advice is to be patient, because on average it takes about 5 months to get approved by USCIS.

Thanks. Just worried that its taking so long and then it was transfered too. Ill just have to wait then. Thanks

  6. CR-1

    Texas Service Center

    Priority Date: 08/31/2015

    Notice Date: 09/01/2015

case was transferred , we didn't receive any mails, emails, texts or calls

2 updates in less than 10 hours tho.

    first one

    Case Transferred To Another Office

    second one

Case Was Transferred And A New Office Has Jurisdiction

We transferred your form I-130 to another USCIS office, That office now has jurisdiction over your case.

not sure what they mean, if someone is looking at the case right now(adjudgeication) or the case will be kept until someone looks at it.

what do you think about that ? is it a good thing or a bad thing.

I hope it goes well for all of us, I'm worried to be honest...

We have the same case. Sent mine same date as you and my case was transfered too to another office. Guess well just have to wait another month?

  7. Hi jakemars,

I would suggest for you to just keep your CR1 process. Since your spouse is from Philippines, they have priority with USCIS. Your case will be approved very quickly compared to everybody else (instead of 5 months, yours will be approved within 60 days max).

Hold on and you'll be getting to the NVC stage soon. The K3 visa is not so desirable, because your spouse will need to adjust status later (and it may be difficult to leave the US in case of any emergency back home), while with the CR1 she already will already have a greencard.

...tnx. been reading other threads and saw thats pretty much what people are saying too. Ill keep everyone posted. Good luck to all!
