  1. Hi farlovenear,

In our case, my wife went to her interview at the embassy with all of the required information. When she was called up, the case officer asked her basic information such as her name, case number, my name, where I worked and what I do for a living. That was basically it. We had decided beforehand to simply let them know we had made a mistake on the DS-260 if any of those questions were brought up. After all, it was a honest mistake! I took some good advice from people saying that as long as we have nothing to hide and we are completing truthful, we'd be ok!

I overthought the whole thing waaaayyyy too much, but then again that's the kind of person I am

Ok so you did mentioned even thouh the DS-260 was not brought up?

    Thanks, I'm very nervous

  2. I do not think the visa will be denied because of that. but after your husband arrives here and get a SS number you should amend your 2014 tax form to married filing jointly, In most cases if you file married jointly the taxes are less then filing married seperate

Hi again, I spoke to my accountant and he is making the corrections and told me he will give mea new tax form with the right info.is this correct should I take the old tax form and the correction shet to the interview, thanks, does this correction sheet needs to be sign by IRS or just accountant?

    thanks

  3. I got married In May 2014, my accountant put me as single althoug I told him I was married, am asking hi to make the correction, should I take a copy of the correction to the interview? I'm scared, can this be a reason to have the visa denied?

yes you need to file as married

    from the 1040 instructions

to file married jointly with a Nonresident Alien Spouse

    he

or she must have either an SSN or an

    ITIN if:

    You file a joint return,

You file a separate return and

claim an exemption for your spouse, or

Your spouse is filing a separate return

    Generally, a married couple cannot

file a joint return if either spouse is a

nonresident alien at any time during the

year. However, if you were a nonresident

alien or a dual-status alien and were

married to a U.S. citizen or resident alien

at the end of 2014, you can elect to

be treated as a resident alien and file a

joint return. See Pub. 519 for details

to file married seperate and your spouse does not have and is not required to have an

    SSN or ITIN, enter NRA.

there is one more way you can file and that is head of household if certain conditions apply

However you can not file as single

  4. My lawer wrote on the military question that my husband has basic military trainingin in firearms, but is not true, the lawer just supposed he did, because my husband did go to the obligatory military service but he got the clear one where he just shows up once and march and thas it.and the lawer supposed he had badic training on firearms, can we get this fixed at interview or is this a big issue if he tells the it was a lawer's mistake. My husband has his military service card to show them.

    Thanks
