Thank you!

Hey everyone! Hope you all are having a great weekend. After waiting 14 months for an immigration interview, we finally got a date of April 20th. I know we are going to need to make some final payments, and I went online to see where and how I make those payments and of course, my brain went into melt mode. I know there is a fee for the medical exam, but is that all we pay for in London? When do we pay for the final parts of the visa? After the interview? I am just so confused and the USCIS websites do not dumb it down enough for me to find anything. TIA for the help! <3

We got our petition approved! Yay! But now we are on the second step and I am super confused and of course I cannot get a straight answer for the NVC. We got our list of what to do next and I am confused about the different between IRS Tax transcript and Federal Income Tax returns. I got a Tax Return Transcript in the mail from the IRS...will this one document suffice? HELP!

Was the check/money order from a US Bank/Institution?
Yes, USPS money order.

Did you get the money order you sent with your application back as well?
If not, first check with your bank (or wherever you made your money order from) to see if the money order was cashed and cancel the money order. Send your application again and use personal cheque this time with your application.
They may have lost your money order. This happens sometimes. Make sure you clip everything together well ( I'm sure you may have taken precautions for that for the previous applications, but make doubly sure this time). No time to lose, send your application again right away.
That's the confusing part though. I've never submitted anything else on behalf of my husband and they stay put the money order to the letter when they sent it back. Only thing that's missing from everything that I sent in is the i-130 application itself which after being with my husband for 6 years and trying to figure out what to send in I know I didn't forget to do that.

And you sent the check together with the i130 form and all other paperwork?
Yes, I sent everything together. They even wrote the date and the amount on the money order.

Cr1, sorry it made me select a topic and I was so flustered and upset that I got a rejection and of course I can't get anyone on the phone right now because they are closed.

Yes! Exactly!

The person at USCIS told me to submit it for 535 and everything else gets paid at different interval.

I submitted everything according to what i jave read on this site and have spoke to the USCIS PERSONALLY to see what I should submit as far as the publication and the amount. Today I got everything sent back with a rejection letter! Help me! What does this mean?
U.S. citizenship and immigration services is unable to associate your remittance with any application or petition you may have previously submitted. If you forgot to send your remittance with you application package, your package will be returned to you.
WHAT'S A REMITTANCE APPLICATION? I JUST WANT MY HUBBY:(

If my husband is found inadmissible due to past drug abuse and he is found to have it in remission 12 months down the line, do we have to apply for the visa all over again(and also pay....again)
-
Finally: you will need (as somebody points out above) a detailed doctor's note emphasising the nature of the problem and indicating that the drug/alcohol abuse is no longer an issue and that you don't represent any sort of threat to yourself or others. Monthly drug tests, with accompanying evidence, for the next 12 months is also a great idea.
I wouldn't worry myself reading the horror stories (and they really are horrifying) posted by members from third world countries with respect to drugs and alcohol and US immigration, by the way. People in these countries tend to be treated much more harshly and with a much greater deal of suspicion from US officials than do people applying from the UK, Canada, Australia etc.
Thank you so much. I will try to find that lawyer and see if he does free consultations. Enjoy your Sunday, you're awesome!

Your topic title says Drug abuse, if this is so and it is documented, than he will have a very long and tough role in obtains a US immigration visa. If it was only alcohol, he will need to prove that he has received treatment and that his condition has been medically resolved, again this will mean medical documentation.
Drugs abuse equals a no no
Alcohol abuse equals a maybe with apprioprate documentations in treatment and the condition is no longer an issue.
I was afraid of that. Is it instant denial then or they look into all aspects and make a decision from there?

Greetings from Chicago! I am new to the site, so forgive me if this has been asked in the past.
My husband and I are going to try to apply for the I-130/I-129F visa for America. He lives in England currently, and we have been in a LDR for 4.5 years(married for 3 months.)
We have everything that we need to get the visa going and we are really excited, but have hit a bit of a snag. My husband has a small history of alcohol/drug abuse from 4 years ago. While he has only been to the doctor for it once, it is on his medical record. We are extremely worried this will hinder our process for him to move here and for us to finally be together. Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, how did it work out for you? What was the process like? How long did it take?
We are slightly freaking out and need some advice. Your help is appreciated! Enjoy your day!

Visa Medical Question
in US Embassy and Consulate Discussion
Posted · Edited by ColorMeChaotic
Hubby had his medical exam on Friday, but they want more info from his GP about his anxiety. His interview is on Friday 4/20/18. If the paperwork isn’t there is time from visa medical, will it delay approval? Also, the doctor from visa medical specifically starred to sections on the letter for more info. Is that all we worry about getting?
Thanks for your help!
