  1. Well they asked

    Why did u married her

    When did u meet her

How many times did u had sex

    When did ur parents died

    Who was there in wedding

She didn't saw.anything.. Entire time typed and typed

Yikes I can't believe they asked you about your sex life, although I guess you have to be prepared for anything :/

So sorry to hear about this, you both must be devastated :( hopefully it's just something small with the USCIS and is resolved quickly.

  2. Hey guys, I went to an IR-1 interview today in Moscow and here is my experience, it might be useful for some.

My interview was scheduled for 8:30 am, but I decided to get there earlier, arrived at 7:50. It is just one line for all types of visa and appointment times. There were already soo many people and everyone tries to cut the line. It took a long time to get in. Don't take any prohibited items like perfume, water, food, charges, usb-drives etc. They won't store those for you, they'll only take your phone. I gave my delivery confirmation to the first window and received a number in my line, then went to the hall 5, gave them a green paper and then had to wait until I was called. The room was tiny and full of people, most didn't have a place to sit. Even though I came way earlier than should have, I somehow ended up almost at the end of all immigrants. They didn't call all numbers in the strict order, so two people that came after me were interviewed first. After an hour of waiting a lady asked me to give her my original documents, she asked for a birth certificate, new police certificate, its translation, marriage certificate, photos and the medical package. She gave me some pamphlets and I went back to waiting. Interviews were so long.... Every person took about 20 minutes. At around 10:30 I was called to an interview room. The consular seemed friendly and asked some basic questions at first, and then he started grilling me about my job! How was it relevant?? My job is very ordinary! He asked me every detail about it and then told me to give him my resume... I had a giant folder full of everything you could possibly think of and a photo album, but a resume is definitely something really unexpected! Of course, I didn't have one! Why would I need it? It is not an employment-based visa! So he told me to send that to him and then they will review the documents again. He was also about to request a police certificate from China, even though I never stayed there for longer than 6 months in a row. It would be impossible to obtain! But in the end he only decided to request a resume...
So, dear applicants, have that on hand just in case. I don't how my case will end, but for now I am in an uncertainty.

I'm sorry that it wasn't a smooth process for you :( hopefully the review goes quickly though.

I've been asked to bring a resume in with my interview - I just assumed that everyone had to! Wonder if it's just Australia...

  3. Hi everyone,

So in a few short hours Majed will have his interview..Hope (inshallah) I can share some good news.

Would appreciate all of the dua/prayers that you can give for us.

These last few hours have me so anxious..but it "feels" different than last time..I hope that's a good sign. Majed says he is ready and not worried.

I'm sure everything will be fine :) thinking of you both.

  4. Getting a bit concerned. Haven't got my email for the interview yet even though it's supposed to be in two and a half weeks... Really want to get started on booking things like my flights and medical. So annoying!!!!!

How do you find out about your interviews?? Did you have to call nvc, do they schedule interview with you over the phone?

You can call and they'll tell you if your interview has been scheduled. Or you can wait for the email to come through to tell you what date it is.

  5. Guys, guess what!?! After 3 weeks of waiting we finally were rescheduled. The new interview is scheduled for September 17th  !!

I feel like I fought so hard for this. Since my husband was turned away on August 20th I have not stopped emailing and calling trying to get this matter resolved. Twice a week I was emailing the senators and the congressman that had agreed to look into our case.. Tuesday night I emailed President Obama ( I knew it was a long shot..but I am stubborn and do not give up easily).. and then Wednesday I filed a formal complaint (my emails and phone calls were being completely ignored by the embassy) with the Office of the Inspector General against the US embassy in Tunisia..who replied they were going to forward my complaint to the Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA), Executive Office...for what they called "action".. This morning I checking my email..disappointment..nothing..but then I checked my husband's email and someone from the embassy had finally emailed him with our new appointment date and time..such relief! I am not sure what finally got the ball rolling but thank God it's rolling!

The odd thing is.. My husbands email is not listed in any of our paperwork to the USCIS or NVC..I've just been including it in my emails to the Senators, Congressman, and then the Office of the Inspector General .. so they could contact him directly if needed.. So, I am pretty sure it was all of the "noise" that I made that finally got results..I hope it does not make them grumpy when they interview my husband...

Sorry this is so long.. but I hope sharing this will help others.

Thank you all for being there during this journey. Your well wishes and support mean so much..and I wish you all the best...and congrats to all those who got their interviews scheduled!! loved reading all of the positive posts today..and to those still waiting..hang in there..you are all in my thoughts and prayers for speedy conclusions with positive results.

Omg that's amazing!! Congratulations. Hope it's all smooth sailing for you both now.

  6. I'm not Dwheels, but I'll answer this question. The answer is: "It Depends"

Some consulates/embassies will want to see a new I-864 - especially if the sponsor is REALLY close to the poverty line. If your sponsor(s) are very much over, and have been for three years, then you might not be asked for an updated one.

If your interview letter says "Bring a new I-864", then, of course, you bring a new one. If your I-864 package did NOT include 2014 tax returns, then it is probably good to bring an updated I-864, plus a copy of the 2014 transcript, or, if you don't have the transcript, a copy of the tax return, including all W-2s and any other forms that were submitted.

My interview was in June. We were not asked for any tax or I-864 updates. But, we were comfortably over the poverty line, and, Australia is a low-risk country.

So...it depends. Do yourself a favor and BRING a new I-864 and tax info. Don't volunteer it. But have it with you. Just in case.

    Sukie in NY

Thanks Sukie this really clears it up :)

Guess I'll just wait to see if the consulate asks for it, but hopefully it should be all good then.

  7. I am really really really .....off and it wasn't a good start to a long weekend. I had already gone through their computer glitch even though I had submitted everything before it hit them and now interview cancellation. They are just testing our patience and it's doesn't leave a good taste when you try to follow the proper channels.

:( maybe it's time to get your spouse to contact their congressman and ask them for assistance. It's so ridiculous. And yeah, I'm mad for you guys too.

  8. Yay!! Glad it's official.

I called NVC today to find out the status of my DS-260 since everything else is good to go. And all we can do is keep waiting for it to be reviewed. 30-42 days is what the rep said. It's been 24. So annoyed, if I had realised they were going to review our EP case in 11 days, I would have waited until I actually had all the info for the DS-260 before I submitted everything. And I really don't understand why they need to know every place that my husband has lived since he was 16 and every job he's worked for the last 10 years and every bit of secondary/post secondary education he's ever had. My husband didn't even know all that info. I'll probably call again on Friday.

    Thanks Katze :)

I'm sorry to hear the review is taking so long :( it took me forever to pull together all that information as well. Hopefully they are sticking to the 30 day cycle for reviews as well and you'll get your CC end of this week. Crossing my fingers for you!
