  1. I had a request for initial evidence for i-485 issued a week after my biometrics. Turns out i made a small error on my i 864 as well. it was a simple fix, resent 2 pages of the 864 back.

I was concerned it would affect my EAD/AP but on day 75 from the Received date for the AP/EAD i submitted a service request online and my EAD/AP was completed and approved by an officer the same day.

I believe the time resets for your i-485 now. But in some cases i have heard of some delays associated with EAD/AP.

Be hopeful and positive. Hope your EAD/AP also arrives latest by the 90 day goal from petition date received.

    Good luck!

  2. Hi,

Honestly I'm not sure what to make of that, as I too had thought that a cosponsor was allowed. This review (http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=18235) mentions that the petitioner was unemployed, and they were specifically asked for an I-134 for a second cosponsor after the original one did not satisfy the consular officer. Their timeline shows that they were approved after mailing a new I-134, so who knows!

I'm just speculating, but perhaps in that case (and yours), the officer would approve the visa based only on the second I-134, rather than on the one for the unemployed/student petitioner. This differs from the I-864 that you file with your AoS, for that the petitioner is always the primary sponsor regardless of income, and then you can have one or more cosponsors. Or possibly (and i'm still speculating) they just want to see that someone will be able to co-sponsor the applicant for AoS later.

Hope this was helpful, and that interview goes well!

Thank you for your quick response. Yes it was helpful, and i hope my interview goes well too!!

Hope you have a safe and easy move to the USA.

  3. Hi everyone,

Thanks to VJ, my fiancee's K-1 was approved yesterday! I have posted a full review here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=18429

If anyone has any questions about what to expect at the interview, please post them here and we will do our best to answer them :)

I forgot to mention that the officer did ask us how we met, but it was at the very end, and I'm pretty sure he already was holding the "Welcome to the USA" letter at that point :)

Congratuations!! I just finished reading your full review and I had one quick question about it.

You mentioned that the officer said "we don't even accept a second i-134 for K1 visas..." Is this true?

My fiancee is a fresh graduate, has zero income for the last 3 years (we have included tax returns to prove it as well) and is currently just volunteering part time and his mother was going to be our co-sponsor for AOS as well for us. I have prepared an entire package of i-134 for her as well. I can't recall where but i know for sure i have seen it in several different posts that a co-sponsor is allowed for k1.

  4. I wonder if because I have 4 people that will be applying (k1 and k2) that I require 4 "spots" so if only one spot open I do not see it on the calendar? I still see all the dates empty. But thanks for the info !! It certainly helps me and others and If I see dates ill pass it a long as well.

Dec 17 is still open right now. I think its been discussed earlier, that there tends to be a problem for some if theres more than 1 applicant. Did you try maybe Only applying as yourself and after the appointment was booked, adding the other applicants with the option "add applicant?"

  5. Very odd, I logged on only saw the 11th and now when I click to "change date" I see nothing. I was hoping for closer to Dec or even late dec (snce i had planned to be up there for Xmas.) but now with this date being Jan 11th it might throw those plans off, as Itd be a bit costly 2 trips so close together.

Also, the last day in December they seem to be scheduling K1 interviews for is December 18. So just keep that in mind as well.

I just logged in again, and i see January 7 and 8 still available with the rest of the calendar basically open as well. Theres none open in December but i saw one earlier this morning.. like December 11 open.. i think definitely keep checking back often.. maybe a December one can open up again. Also, try calling the consulate regarding the appointments how some of us still see an entire calendar month open verses you not seeing anything. Maybe they can help you reschedule to an earlier date if possible. I recommend just keep checking back as often as you can. Good luck!

  7. I am on a very similiar time frame as you. Just got my appointment today! for Jan 11th 2016, was the only date open when I logged in today. You have to check every day 100 times a day and keep checking this site too Be hopeful dont worry about your expire date they can fix that its no big deal.

That's Odd, i just logged in to double check and i still see majority of the January dates open.

  8. I called and they said no appointments available. They were just checking on our on-line page that we can see and she just read it off verbatim. I tried to explain the problem we are having and she told me they cannot help with that. so we have hit a dead end. I tried to make a new account using my Fiancées e-mail to see if it would work and it did not... got the same thing, stuck at the payment page still with no way to pay.

I honestly think it is the multiple family member thing messing it up. Does anyone know who I can go to for help, I will e-mail again but that was a dead end last time and they just reprimanded me pretty much saying I was trying to cut ahead of other people and that I had to do it through the website just like everyone else does.

Someone Please help us! Its been 2 1/2 months of clicking the site constantly all day and even in the middle of the night and still never once have found an open interview =(

If trying another computer at a different location all together doesn't work it really is starting to sound like a multiple family member issue with the system. Have you tried to PM other multiple family member's on this website, whose consulate was also Montreal and see if they also had the same issue? Maybe they can be the most helpful. Hang in there! :(

  9. True - although I think the 28th is the Boxing day holiday for many....government workers enjoy time off.

Oh wow, I wasn't aware of December 28 being a holiday. Thanks! I thought Boxing day falls on the day after christmas. I'm definitely grateful for my scheduled interview date, but I'm on a very tight schedule of when possibly I would get an AP in the mail after arriving so i can make it back for my best friends wedding on May 6! (which i am a bridesmaid for). So the timelines real tight right now haha. Anyway hopefully it all works out!

I saw AP's usually take on average 60 something days right now, although the timeframe to expect it is 90 days later. Hopefully *fingers crossed* the APs average continues to be issued in 60 ish days or so! :clock::)

  10. January 8 booked! Thank you everyone.

Also I remember checking "Timelines for K1 visa interviews" often, and the latest one that was seen in December that was booked was December 18! I was hoping they would open up at least a few days out of December 21 to January 1st, but it looks like they didn't bother to release those as possible interview dates for us. Do any of you know of anyone who scheduled within those two weeks?

  11. I'm pretty sure fingerprints are only needed if you have a record. Also, my police check was free (maybe the commissaries charge?). I went to the local RCMP station and they did it in 10 minutes while I waited. The difference may be because the other poster was a foreigner living in Canada.

Also, the US does their own checks, no need to get those yourself.

Thanks for your response, I have my police check for canada already. I was just a little confused on where i can get my fingerprints done for cheap. I have to do the ink and roll method for my fingerprints and send it to St. Kitts in my police certification application, as i lived there for 16 months.

  12. Aw no! Hopefully it's not too difficult :( You'll probably need to get your fingerprints taken in Canada to put in with your police certificate application. I got mine done at Commissionaires and they were very helpful and efficient.

Thanks for that, i was looking everywhere online for where i could get my fingerprints taken. I will call them tomorrow and find out more details about it. Do you know by any chance how much they charge?

  13. I'm pretty sure you won't need to get a US police certificate as they will do all the checks once you send in your application anyway. But yeah you should get one for St Kitts & Nevis as you were there for so long that it can't be classed as a vacation. I'm from the UK and lived in Canada for 22 months but visited home every 5 months and I had to get one for there. Hopefully it's not too difficult to get :)

Thank you for your response. I was really hoping you would say I would not need it, as its a real struggle i hear to get this police clearance from St. Kitts.

Anyway thanks again i appreciate it!

  14. Hello VisaJourney members,

Firstly, I would like to thank the creators of this website and all the members who have contributed. It's been very helpful and reassuring!

I have an issue regarding the police clearance certificates needed. I have always resided in Canada my whole life and have visited St. Kitts and Nevis and Chicago, IL, USA. I visited St. Kitts and Nevis for 16 months but returned home to Canada for 2-3 weeks, every 4 months (So i did not live in St. Kitts consecutively for 16 months, it was 4 months at a time). I did the same with Chicago, IL, USA with a B1 visitor visa.

Now my concern is, Do i have to obtain a Police Clearance from St. Kitts and USA as well? Or only for Canada? I would be very upset if, come interview day Montreal Consulate puts my case on hold until i obtain a police certificate from those two countries, so i would like to be 100% prepared before that day comes.

    Thank you for your help!
