Hi Everyone,

I am already a permanent resident card holder, the conditional one. i am planning to visit Philippines early next year. I am just confused because my friend told me that I need to apply for Travel Document at the USCiS eventhough I am already a 2 yr conditional permanent resident card holder. I am just staying there for 2weeks.

I still remember, during my adjustment of status process. I applied form I-131 and was granted. Then I received a combo card together with my employment authority card.

Please enlighten me on this matter if i still need a travel document and what kind of travel document is that?

Hi there, I have already a 2yrs Conditional Green Card. I am travelling to Canada by Land this August. do I need to get a Canadian Tourist Visa to visit canada?? when returning to US, is my conditional green cArd will allow me to enter the US after my canada visit? Or do I need to file something before travelling to other country or my GC alone is fine when returning to US.?

And my last name from GC and passport is different, bcoz I get my husbands last name (same sex marriage) since my country of origin law didnt accept yet same same marriage (Philippines). The PH embassy cannot change my passports last name and cannot even give me same person affidavit. Is it going to be a problem when travelling abroad with my passports last name and GC different? What to do?

My cousin, who is a US citizen with US passport was born in Philippines. He is now 28 years old. He never left Philippines eversince. Now, I want to help him to go here in US and start a new life.

My question now, does he needs to get something from Philippine Immigration? Any documents or fees he needs to pay before he can leave the PH? Or he is free to travel abroad anytime since he was born in PH? Does he consider over staying and needs to pay fine?

Hi there, just posted recently that I have upcoming aos interview this April. Unfortunately, my husband got fired from work and my aunt in california is willing to co-sponsor me as preparation for the interview. What form I need to use the I-864 or I-864A. i already submitted I864 before (my husband as sponsor) but due to unforseen incident he lost his job. And I need to prepare documents - co sponsor I am just confuse what forms to use thanks.

do I need tax transcript or 1040 from my co sponsor? Or pay slip and employment letter will do? Bcoz for sure, they do not want me give me their tax transcript or 1040 since its a very sensitive paper... But is pay slip and employment letter will do? Thanks.

Hi there, thanks for the reply... Yes, the complex denied our application for an apartment we received letter from them, that our application was denied. Can I bring that as well to the interview?

When we got denied for apartment, I asked a friend if we can share an apartment with them since tbey have one room available. We gave our room mate cash to pay the rent monthly. How is that?

We do received mails with the same address. Can we bring that? Like, hospital bill, phone bills, etc.

We do have joint savings and checking with our names on it and same address.. In our health insurance application, both names are there with same address, Uber receipts showing the address, credit card statement with our names and address, his 1040A has our name with same address, it is really difficult to gather evidence for same sex couple but we are doing our best to have all what we really need for the interview.

Hi there, Our interview will be on April 14 and I am currently arranging all evidence that will substantiate our bonafide marriage. But We do not have contract of lease. We are just sharing a room from our room mate. We applied for an apartment but the apartment denied our application. Can we bring the denial letter with us as proof that we really intend to apply for our own place?

Can all our Mails, with our name and address can be evidence that we live in that address? Mails like Hospital Billing of my husband, credit card statement? Uber receipt? Something like that... Or Phone bills under my husbands name with the address?

Thanks Damara, Just got my interview letter. I already made a service request. I hope I can get it by end of this month.. Is it normal that interview comes first before the Ead/AP combo card?

Maria is right. Sometimes people get the GC before EAD> If thats the case (the GC is approved) then the EAD process stops as you dont need EAD when you have a GC.

For those in specific timelines like you- where the interview is set- and honestly its over a month away- technically your EAD processing should continue until the GC is issued. It doesnt automatically stop when the interview letter is granted. However EAD processing is currently taking right up to the 90 days. When did you apply?

There is a chance that your EAD will get pushed to the bottom of the pile when they see you have an interview pending esp with the current workload. The only option I can see is since you have a pending job offer to look into expediting the EAD based on that. There are a few forum posts about it if you search. Otherwise keep waiting and watching the status.

Most people are approved at the interview on the spot. It will then take some time to get the card afterwards so if you dont pursue the expedite or dont get the EAD before the interview it will be a while before you are able to work.

Thank you so much. I sent the application last Dec 22, 2015 and they received it Dec 28. I read that the EAD and AP are processed up to 90 days. Is it fine if I call USCIS to expedite my EAD since I have a job offer pending already? i do not want to start working unless I have proper documentations with me. And my case for my EAD and AP in USCIS website is not updated. I have received the receipt number already but in the website it said that they received my application for that case.

Hi there, I am wondering.... i just checked my case at uscis website and my I485 case says that I have an interview on April 14,2016 and they will send me the letter regarding that but still no update regarding my EAD and Travel permit. Is it possible that they will mail it to me together with the interview appointment letter? I took my biometrics last january 28 but still no update on my ead and travel permit. I have a job opportunity waiting for me and the owner cannot wait for me anymore :'(

My husband's ITR (2014) the one I attached to my I485 for financial support was insufficient but we submitted employment letter stating that he's annual salary is $20,000 which is in line with the poverty guideline of uscis. however his latest W2 (2015) is only in $11,113.80 - we used that to file for his 2015 ITR..

My question is, is it going to have an effect to my I485? Or is the uscis will look into the employment letter stating that his annual salary is $20,000 as basis? Because he had a lot of absent last year because of medical reasons. I just want to know in advance so we can get a sponsor if his latest w2 will not be accepted.

Fyi. We are only 2(two) in the household. In the uscis poverty guidelines. I think. It is somewhat in $19,000 for two household.

Hi there, I am just wondering. I got biometrics last Jan 28 and on Feb 3 my case for I485 in uscis website change to " as of Feb 3, 2016, we are ready to schedule your form I485 for an interview. We will schedule you an interview and send you a notice"

My question would be, does it mean my paper works were all set and accepted? And I can expect No RFE will be on my mail? Thanks...

No you have to have the EAD in hand before you can start. Look at the I-9 form.

Thansk for the indo regarding I-9 form, I read it but i guess i will read it once again for me to better understand it. My understanding was, the employer will be the one filling out the form right? And just file it on there office and no need to submit in USCIs?

By the way, with regards to my SS card. When i received my ead/ap do i need to go to SS office to ask to remove the 'valid for work only with dhs authorization' and change my last name there?bcoz When i submitted all my uscis forms, I used my husbands last name in all my names in the form.

I have already SS number since I participated in work and travel program before. But It has a remarks their that say 'valid for work only with DHS authorization only' i am waiting for my EAD to come. I've been waiting for my EAD for three weeks. My biometrics were taken last Jan 28.

Can I work while my EAD is still on process? Usually how long does it take for the EAD to come into the mail after the biometrics? Because I have friend that will help me to get a job and the pay is good to start that's why I ask this question. Can I just show all my receipt notice that I am really processing my AOS and EAd?

The EAD will come before anything else (in normal cases), sometimes the green card comes first but that's rare I think. I'm not sure the others update or something, with mine only one case updated even though they're all connected. *shrug* I don't think the sex matters either, mine is also same sex AOS and my cases were approved with no trouble

So happy that you were in same sex aos too... Can you gave me info on how the consul handle interviews in same sex? What are the questions they asked for same sex couples? Thanks for replying by the way...

I had my biometrics last Jan 28, 2016. When i checked my case number for aos in uscis website it says they that my case was ready for an interview. My question is, why the other cases like I130, I131 and I764 still the same (case was received) am i going to have an early interview? Or my EAD will come first before the interview? My aunt and uncle in the Philippines have an approved petition filed by my grandfather last 1995, however my grandfather died last 2002. Both my aunt and uncle reside in the Philippines until now. Is there any possible way to reconsider or reopen the case so they can immigrate here in the US? they have sisters here willing to be the substitute sponsor for the I-864.

How long should you wait before you will received your NOtice of action that they received already the papers you'd submitted? i sent the package, concurrent of filing of I130, I485, I131 and I765 and other supporting documents last Dec 22 and according to UPS they received the packet last Dec 24 and on Jan 2, I received a letter dated on Dec 28 that they are returning one of my evidences because its too big ( the photo album). I know that they already received my papers because of the letter they sent me, my questions are how long they will process it before I will get Notice of action (receipt number) or received an email comfirmation from them? Usually how many days or weeks I need to wait for the Travel document and work permit to come... Because I mentioned on I131 I will attend my grandmothers birthday in the philippines this Jan 20 and also we have family reunion that I dont want to miss attending...

Hi there... i send my packet on Dec 22 and received the returned photo album on Jan 2 but the date on the letter was dec 28.

Did you received any text or.emails that they already received your packet? Or received a Notice of Action by mail? Coz u said you waited for 3mos already.
