I got the card 3 days before the 180 day extension expired. By that point, I had EVERYONE on it. My congressman contacted USCIS 3 times. The Ombudsman 2 times. And Tier 2's 2 different supervisors both made notes and emailed the person who had my case - I cried on the infoline, lol.

Thanks you so much. I have only 3 months to get my EAD cos my 180 days expires in October and already have started getting worried as I file my case in December 2018. I have contacted my congressman and my senator and they about to contact them. hopefully everything goes smooth so can have my card in hand before it expires in October. my AOS was in December 2018

Oh, this is great for those instances when people don't wanna pay me after seeing the expired combo card and the 180-day automatic extension doesn't convince them. Thanks!

Hello, please I want to know what happened to your AOS and EAD if you finally got it now as in June2019. I'm in the same situation as you are and was following your tread. Please kindly let us know what happen

Your wife is mistaking about you and Medicaid. Medicaid is paid by tax payers and is not readily available to immigrants. The whole point of your wife filling out and signing the Affidavit of Support for you is so you won't be a public charge (use government benefits). You should educate your wife on this and definitely research to see if you truly qualify for the current medicaid you are on.

By the way, this is NOT a new policy. It has always been that immigrants can not use means-tested public benefits.

Thank you for the response. The point is I don’t know too much about these government free health care system neither do my wife. But what she actually signed us on was united health care and at the time I wasn’t working and we did fall below the minimum income as a family. The person who signed me on said I do qualify and that’s the reason my wife signed me on. Maybe I need to make more enquiries and take my name off

  4. Hello

Please can I get further explanation on Uscis policies coming to effect on September. My wife and two children are all USC and my than girlfriend who is my wife now filled a K1 visa for me which I came to the United States with. Currently I’m on AOS which we petition about 10 months ago and received the NOA and done my biometric. I already have my EAD and now working and driving. My problem now is when I came about 6months ago my wife made me signed up Medicaid health insurance because she said it was free and I also needed to go to the hospital. As the new policy coming in September which include immigrants using any government assistance including Medicaid please can this affect my application? And if it will what will be the way forward? Should I called and remove my name of the Medicaid? Thank you

Yes, i scheduled the interview myself after receiving the letter. Yeah i have done everything thats needs to be done before including the police certificate. The medical can only be done when the appointment letter is presented so my fiancee will present that to get her medical exams done before the 31st. Aside that we have everything set and ready to go. I could've selected an earliest date they had available of January 12th, but we decided against that to give ourself time.

Thank you very much for the infor. Wish you all best

  6. @Aldybella please can you clarify this for me... Did you just scheduled the interview date yourself soon as you received the letter just this past days or was it already scheduled by the Ghana embassy. And also from now till 31st January have you already done any of the following....your medicals, preparing supporting documents and everything that comes before the interview or is now that you are going to do all those before the interview date?

  7. I started this whole process on september 16,2016. that is when i mailed in the application. Received letter from Us embassy in Ghana yesterday, december 27,2016. So it has been roughly 3 and a half months. And with an interview date of jan 31, 2017 makes the whole process 4 and a half months for me.

I received the letter here in the US.

  8. Received letter from US embassy in Ghana just this evening. It doesn't state to bring the letter to receive packets. It just states what is needed for interview, where to PAY the visa fee. After that, I have to schedule the interview myself on ustraveldocs. The embassy doesn't make you come in for an appointment date for any Ghanaians awaiting this process. Unless they have just changed the process, can anyone shed light on the packets 3 and 4 because thats not what the instructions are in my letter.
