Call and follow the prompts to the main, except pick the option of "lost reciept number/don't have receipt number" instead of the option you normally would, and you will get a human that can help you out. I think it's 1-1-2-3, the order of options but not 100% sure.

We got an electronic notification on 4/19 that an RFE (request for INITIAL evidence) was being mailed out to us - and we still have not received it (will be 30 days tomorrow).

I've called the USCIS # several times but have never figured out how to talk to a human being.

Can anyone please give me some tips on how to get on the line with an actual person. The prompts seem to just lead in a circle - SOOOO frustrating!

The good news is that we received the EAD card last week, which was completely unexpected. I had thought that a request for initial evidence put everything on hold. I guess not. No complaints though.

Got the AOS/EAD package sent out on 3/10 and have now joined the waiting game with you all. Expecting a text/email notification ANY TIME NOW.

The waiting is definitely less stressful this time though - since I am with my sweetheart.

My mind keeps going through all the mistakes I may have made in filling out/assembling the packet. (i.e. N/A vs. None vs. blank space & 2 photos or 4!) But, honestly, I'm so happy to have gotten the thing out. If I get an RFE, so be it.

I look forward to hearing how it goes for everyone.

hi again flaps. sorry for the delay in responding - just got back to my computer...

the birth certificate got sent by courier on tues 11/17 & we got the tracking email on fri 11/27. it took about 7 business days in all.

Everything seems to have worked out. We just this morning received the tracking email from the courier, so the visa should be in-hand soon.

Don't panic. Our ceac status changed back and forth a few times too before it finally showed "Issued". Things may have gotten slowed down for you a bit because of the Thanksgiving holiday - and now the upcoming weekend. Take a deep breath and hang tight, most likely it will all resolve next week.

Thank you Nich-Nick your help. I think I have a better handle on the situation now.

He DID leave his passport at the embassy (a detail he forgot to tell me when describing the interview day), so now we're just waiting on our Courier-In Certificate to be generated on the ais.usavisa-info.com site (they said this usually takes about 2 working days after the interview) so he can submit the original BC by courier. We will take your advise and not send via Royal Mail.

Fingers crossed that everything goes quickly!

They did not keep his passport. They just sent him home with a letter saying that Additional Evidence (his original BC) needed to be submitted. No mention of needing to send in passport as well.

I could use a little help.

My fiance had his K1 interview yesterday & was told that we were approved (YAY!) pending the submission of additional evidence (his original birth certificate).

My questions are these:

He is not located near a courier location and wants to send it in via Royal Mail. To what address should he send it?

To complicate matters, we were told that he needed to send a "Courier-In Authorization Certificate" with his birth certificate. We were told to email weeac_contactus+gb+info+en@visaops.net to request one. Does anyone have experience with this?

And finally, does anyone know how long this whole detour may take? I was hoping to fly back to the US with my fiance in mid December.

Thanks for your help. This site has been an amazing resource and comfort in this emotionally-charged process.

ps I've never posted on this site before, so please forgive if I've managed to post this in the wrong place
