  1. Sriusman, I am so happy to read this! I live in the Durham-Raleigh area and applied about 2 weeks after you did, at the very end of June. I've been so nervous waiting for my interview letter or any update on the case, just hoping my case didn't get lost somewhere in the process. I kept checking this forum thread because I saw you also were applying in the area and hadn't received any notice, and I figured my case couldn't be the only one "stuck" for what felt like a long time.

I'm now hoping that maybe in 2-3 weeks I'll get my interview letter. Fingers crossed!!!

Thanks for updating your status :)

I am glad that you are happy to read this forum and now have a projection about the progress of your own case.

    However, I want to have a friendly criticism here;

I wish you did not stay silent but shared your own story when we were discussing about the background checks with Callum, Nevin, and other folks since September. Then i would not feel like I was the only person from my area stuck in background check. I saw your timeline from same area with myself, but since you were not sharing anything, seriously I thought you were already done with your application.

Well, with this opportunity, I want to remind everybody that the reason why so many people join into this forum is to discuss and share their own story and updates so that others can benefit from those updates and have an idea about the speed of case progresses to have a projection about their own cases.

Therefore; please contribute as well if you are benefiting from the contributions of others in the forum.

Once again good luck to you and everybody waiting at any stage during his/her own naturalization journey.

    Thanks,

    Srius

  2. Hi Sriusman,

Great news. Did you get a message to your cell phone / email about the update (in-line or scheduled for interview)?

I completed my biometric on 21st july..no news after that. My online status shows "Case Received" only.

Also, did you take any InfoPass or made call to customer care or service request?

    Thanks

    Hi n400app,

I completed my fingerprints on 30th June 2015 and my status was "Case was received" until 15th October 2015 when I received a txt message to my phone and an email as well saying that an interview was scheduled for me.

I took an InfoPass in the first week of September, and agent actually said that my background check looks like completed already. He told me that probably my file was being prepared and I should be patient and wait for interview letter. So it took like almost 2 months after info pass session until the case moved to next stage. I do not think that Info Pass or phone calls to NBC customer service had any impact on my case, it basically just progressed on its own phase.

Another details I can share is that I did not receive any notification for "in-line for interview"; my case moved straight to "Interview was scheduled".

I know that waiting is not easy and I hope you will receive a status update soon.

I wish all the best to all waiting for a progress on his/her case.

    Thanks

    Srius

  3. Suriusman,

Did you get inline for interview status update online or email ? If so when ? Or you where scheduled straight for interview ? anything is possible with USCIS. I don't see your inline status in your case record.

I actually did not receive any In-Line notification.. My case has been scheduled straight for interview.. I am waiting for my interview letter now..

  4. Hi folks..

Finally my interview has been scheduled. I received status update SMS on 15th Oct 2015 around 5 pm and now I am waiting for the actual interview letter.

I hope Callum, Nevin and many other friends from VJ waiting for interview will receive the updates soon..

On October 15, 2015, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*xxxxxxx. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

  5. good luck srius,,,have you ever tried to call uscis to get any information about the case ?

Thanks Yavuz for your luck wish, I really need that. I actually called USCIS 10 days ago. The agent said that it must be background check taking longer for my case. Also she said that the average processing time for Raleigh, NC is 5 months, and my case is still under 5 months. Basically she just recommended me keep checking my mails for interview letter.

I dont have any background history other than a few traffic tickets (speeding only), and some business trips (each less than 6 months). I have been working at a leading large US corporation for 8 years. I dont understand why my background check is taking so long. Seriously it is really annoying to wait for interview letter while even July filers started already completing their interviews.

Anyway.. I wish good luck to everybody here waiting for whatever stage during their own journey.

  6. Hi folks,

I just subscribed to this site today. I sent my package 3 months earlier than 5 years anniversary. I got finger printed on 30th June 2015 (early walk-in) and have not received any update since then. Unfortunately I cannot track my status online either as it still says "Case was received" and LUD is 11th June 2015. I see that typical timeline between finger printing and receiving interview letter is like 1 month, and I hope I am not stuck in background check! Good luck to everybody here, and my dates are as following..
