First, I'd like to say this website was an amazing resource in our K-1 journey. Everything in the guides thus far has been spot on and our case went through every step with no issues. There does seem to be some conflicting info though regarding exactly how long you should wait after entry to apply for a SSN. Well we figured we'd give it a shot the day after entry and if my fiancee wasn't in the SAVE system, we would just come back later. She entered through DFW airport on Sunday and we went to Social Security on Monday with the printed electronic I94 and passport. She was in the SAVE system and was approved for the card. It should be here within a week. It seems that this process is very automated now and might not take weeks like it might have in the past. YMMV.
