  1. sorry to bump my own topic! couldn't see any edit function.

I initially searched the site's Terms for 'imbra' and found no match, but after searching for 'broker', I found the following:

    3. The Service

The Service is an internet information service that facilitates contact between members who may or may not be seeking friendship or a relationship. It is not a marriage brokering service, mail order bride service or a matchmaking service. The Company is under no obligation to broker any other member or members for you.

Those terms, with that passage highlighted, plus letters from myself and my fiance, will hopefully do the trick.

  2. Most of the popular foreign dating sites are exempt from IMBRA. If they are charging the same membership fees to everyone regardless of gender or age, then they won't fall under the IMBRA umbrella.

I was under the impression that if the foreign side - usually the woman's - doesn't pay money for the site, then it isn't covered by IMBRA.

in my case, my fiance did not pay for chinalovecupid.com, but I did.

can you please share a little more information regarding your insight, ch3john? it'd be much appreciated. thank you.

  3. I got this exact same notification from USCIS, RFE regarding IMBRA.

I emailed the site I used, chinalovecupid.com, but got no response. They are an Australian company with an EXTENSIVE terms of use http://www.chinalovecupid.com/en/general/termsofusebut they do not mention IMBRA at all.

In the end, I'm pretty sure my fiancee has not paid to use the site (gotta double check with her), so I think that if either party does not pay it would exclude it from IMBRA by definition. More research will be required.
