  1. Here how the NVC status will change:

It was posted by ItsGonnaBeWorthIt. I just didn't know a better way to quote it.

    https://ceac.state.g...ker/Status.aspx

when it says in transit then its on its way to the embassy which means an interview was set

and when it says ready then embassy has gotten it and placed it in their system

or you can call NVC and check the status as well

nothing will change on the site before the interview is set it will always say AT NVC even if an interview is set. it only changes when it leaves the door( in transit) or when embassy puts it in their system ( ready) . they will send you an interview letter as well

  2. Thanks to Almighty.

I have a case complete finally, my scan date was 08th Oct and today I saw the 3 N/A which got me excited :)

To confirm if its a case complete I called NVC and the rep told me that you have got a case complete today and now give sometime for the interview to be scheduled :)

I pray you guys get a case complete soon :) just have patience and I hope you guys will have some good news in this week

Hi vj86, could you please let us know when your interview is scheduled. We got our case completed today (saw 3 N/As and confirmed with NVC)

Can't wait to find out when the interview is going to be...

  3. Good day to all. I am a very confused newbie here.

In the CEAC site it shows 3 N/As (one each for AOS Fees, AOS documents and Financial Documents and Civil Documents). Status for IV Application and DS-261 is 'completed'. IV Fees is stated as 'Paid'. Our scanning date is Aug 21. We called up NVC and was asked to wait and be patient. Our case is put on 'Supervisor Review' a few weeks back and we still have no reply from NVC. We have gone so far and still don't see the light. Where did we go wrong? Anybody out there who can give us some ‘enlightment’? :( Thank you in advance.

Have you paid AOS fee? On my case AOS fees shows "Paid". I just don't understand why it should say N/A when it is paid.

  4. 3 N/A are not a hard and fast rule , because my case is completed and I got a case completed email and I am just waiting on the Interview letter , and I still dont get 3 N/A's . I know a lot of other members whose case is completed and gone on to interview without getting 3 N/As.

How long did you wait from sending all supporting docs (IV and AOS) till you received the email? I feel like it's taking forever....

  5. I would pay them immediately. It probably won't let you pay them at the same time so first submit the AOS payment and right after that go ahead and pey the other one - the IV.

4-5 days later the payments will be posted and then will let you complete IV application. If you chose to be the Agent for your Beneficiary then you'll be able to complete it on his behalf.

I would suggest right after completion of IV app start collecting financial and supporting docs. Once the cover sheet is available on your account (under your log in in NVC website) and your ready with all documents don't wait mail them to the address on the cover sheet. Everything takes time so don't waste it!

My supporting docs were delivered on Tuesday. I called today and they still haven't logged them into their system. After they do it, it could take up to 30 days to process them.

  6. As a non-alien resident? I don't think so. I did not and there was no penalty. The OP is not yet a permanent resident.

It has nothing to do with residency, IRS will penalize for not having health insurance. Obamacare.

"The fee for not having coverage in 2015

If you don’t have coverage in 2015, you’ll pay the higher of these two amounts:

    • 2% of your yearly household income. (Only the amount of income above the tax filing threshold, about $10,150 for an individual, is used to calculate the penalty.) The maximum penalty is the national average premium for a Bronze plan.
    • $325 per person for the year ($162.50 per child under 18). The maximum penalty per family using this method is $975."

    For 2016 will be more.

  7. Hi there,

I filed I-130 for our adopted son who is 5yrs old, and the petition was approved September 8th. Currently our case is at the NVC, AOS and IV already paid.

Your 2 year required custody starts to count when you get custody of the child (could it be before it's been legalized). You also have to have physically 2 yrs with the child ourside the US in order to qualify for I-130 IR2. Once those two requirements are met the child considers to be no different than a biological child.

There's very limited information on IR2 petition so if anyone who has been through the same process and would liket to share their experiences would be much appreciated.
