Finally had a status change today. Case complete at NVC. Sent our RFE July 5th, which was for a missing signature on the AOS. Now the question. Our seven year old daughter is inline for the interview to be scheduled in Manila. Does anyone have an estimate of wait time for the interview. We need to send some original documents, such as our marriage certificate and divorce record from my first marriage. This way I can get a feel of when we need to ship them off via LBC. Thank you for your reply in advance.

Hello Anonimo. Did you receive your green card? If you did there is no reason you should not be able to work until your situation is resolved.

Two months at the USCIS, then on to the NVC. I received a letter stating it would take 30 days to review the documents. After the 30 days, I called the NVC to inquire where our case stood for my seven year old step daughter. They informed me the letter was a mistake and it would take up to 11 weeks. Last night at 12:21 AM I received a email or an RFE. According to the NVC my wife did not sign on the I 864A and we did not include a copy of the biographical page of our daughters passport. So off they went this morning express mail, to arrive in New Hampshire before noon tomorrow. I called the NVC, to ask how long it would take for the RFE to be evaluated. The representative told me it could take up 11 weeks to review the two pieces of paper. I just hope this is a standard answer and not an actual time frame. If anyone could offer any information, we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, and God bless. Forgot to mention it was eight weeks, three days upon receiving the RFE.

On February 21, 2017 I called the USCIS and was told they were processing I-130's from June 11, 2016 which is the same date they gave two months ago . With my date being October 27, 2016 I questioned the wait time, no definitive answer could be given by the representative. So using logic, I anticipated another five to nine months at the USCIS. Miraculously the next day my status changed to a request for an RFE. I received the RFE today. I sent the wrong birth certificate. I sent the local municipal copy and not the PSA version, formerly known as the NSO. I have learned that there are no guarantees, but never lose hope. Because things can change in an instant.

After a discussion with the USCIS representative. I discovered that the Potomac processing center is still on June 2016 I-130's, it has been this way the past two months. Nothing has moved at all. The site was updated today and will not be done again for another month. My date is October 27, 2016. According to the representative, who could not be specific, it could be another five to nine months. Depending on the backlog. As a citizen I am filing for my seven year old stepdaughter. Knowing that the NVC could take an additional three months, plus the month or so to have an interview scheduled. When will this travesty end. Funny how they took a mere five days to cash my $420 check. The five month timeline is a myth and should not be used or suggested. I have spoken with my Senator and at this point he stated it is a waiting game.

Hello zizou2017. Our case is for my seven year old stepdaughter. It has already been four months at Potomac. According to the representative they are only processing I-130's from June 11, 2016. It has been this date for the past 2 months. Nothing has moved. Potentially since my date is October 27, 2016 I could have up to an additional five plus months of waiting. Although the representative would not be specific. I am a citizen and my wife a is a permanent resident. We filed using my citizenship to make the process easier. A lot of good that has done.

Spoke with USCIS today. I was informed that they are processing applications at the Potomac processing center from June 11, 2016 for I-130's. Which was updated today 02/21/2017. My I-130 was accepted 10/27/2016. Here we are almost 4 months into the process and the representative stated there was not a specific timeline for our case. I called in December prior to Christmas and they were working on June at that time. At this rate My seven year old stepdaughter from the Philippines could wait another five or six months just for the USCIS portion of the process. The next update will come 03/21/2017. I am sure there are others in the same situation. I just find it incredible that it took only five days to cash my check for $420. Our immigration system has failed us and needs an overhaul. I asked the representative, if I could give my daughters mobile number to her so she could call and explain why she has to wait so long to see her mother, father and newborn brother. She apologized for the wait. A lot of good that does for an innocent child.

I filed for my wife in February 2015. It took seven weeks to get her I-130 approved then off to the NVC. Now we are processing for her six year old daughter. It has been six weeks since we sent in the I-130. I have heard nothing, so I called them. I was told by the representative that it will take five months at the Potomac UCIS. This seems a bit odd. From seven weeks to five months. Is anyone else experiencing the same hold up. Because if this is true, five months wait then another two or three at the NVC. And an additional month or so for the interview. We are filing to bring her here from the Philippines.

Hello Everyone.
My wife arrived here in January 2016, we are now petitioning for her six year old daughter. I am a US citizen and she is a green card holder. I read it will be faster and much easier for me as the citizen to file the I-130 for her. On the I-130, it did not list step-child as an option, only child. So I checked that box. There are so many questions I may have in the future. Any advice on the best way to do this would be greatly appreciated. Comments are also welcome. I just want to make sure I do this correctly. Thank you in advance.

Actually Tahoma the embassy had it all along so it was their fault.

Well the battle is finally over. After a 30 day scare from the embassy with a lost visa. It has been found and is ready for pick up at the 2GO outlet. My queen will be home in just a few days. She has already attended the CFO seminar and just needs the stamp. Thank you to all those who provided comfort and words of support during my time of crisis.

The embassy has put my visa on escalate to post because they can not find it. It was issued December 9. They stated the courier has it and 2Go says they don't. What happens if the visa was lost who is responsible and what are my options. Will the wait be long to reissue another visa?
-
Thank you for the advice PHIL > AZ. I called and spoke with a supervisor at the embassy and she stated she would escalate the case because we should have received our visa already. I also took your advice and called 2GO myself here from the States and they still say that they do not have the visa, to call back around 4:30 Manila time to see if they have picked it up from the embassy. So I am I step closer I guess to finding the elusive visa.

Our visa status was changed to issued on December 9. So we started tracking online with 2GO and the embassy. The embassy states via phone that they handed the visa over 5 or 6 days ago. Upon tracking and calling 2GO they state they do not have the visa. My wife who is currently living in Quezon with her Aunt has left for a rural village in Antique. Now we can not call 2Go. The Tracking status states invalid for all three tracking methods. Is there anything at this point we can do? I have emailed 2GO with no response. Is there a number from the States I can use to reach 2GO? Please any advice on what to do would be very beneficial.

I have the same thing. The visa was issued December 9. I spoke with the embassy and they stated 2GO has the visa. Upon speaking to 2GO they say they do not have it. So we are still waiting.
-
CEAC status stated visa was issued on December 9, 2015. Then upon tracking it stated it was at post or something similar to that. I have called the Embassy and 2GO and neither one has a clue where it is at this point. I checked my visa tracking status about 10 minutes ago and it said There is no status update available for the passport number submitted. which is a change from what it did say that is was at post. I am clueless because it has been 10 days and no visa.

Visa
in Philippines
I received a email from ustraveldocs and it stated that they had handed the visa over to the 2GO or IV courier service. I have attempted to track the visa online but it states invalid. After calling 2GO for the past three days they state they do not have it. I spoke with the embassy and they also say 2GO has the visa. They also could not provide a tracking number or UID which is not on my interview letter. Are there any options at this stage available for us at this point. Any suggestions?

I actually got case complete and one week later I called the NVC just to pester them. Surprisingly enough they told me."oh your interview is in 3 weeks" so it was pretty fast. I would have to say it goes case by case. And everyone is different. Good luck, and call the NVC daily to get updates.

I would first like to thank God for his infinite wisdom to put my wife and I together. I would also like to thank all those folks who offered support and their wisdom in my time of need. My wife finally is getting her visa according to CEAC. We were given a 221g and I thought all was lost. But after 32 days of administrative processing it says issued. Now if I can shamefully plug for Rapid Visa and all their efforts in what seemed an eternity. it was money well spent for our CR1 visa.

Definitely leave them in the safest place. I am not sure what your hotel has for security. Just bring yourself and all the required documents. and a few peso's If you want to rent a chair, and get a snack.

I would also recommend registering online prior to your exam. It makes things easier and quicker. http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/index.php

Here is what I found. The U.S. Embassy will be closed to the public the week of November 16-20, 2015.
Routine consular services, including visas, will not be available.

The Embassy wanted a co-sponsor. The only person I had was my father. His income is 25,900. He is married, so we had to claim three. The 125% poverty is 25,112. So here is my question. Will this be an issue?
