Speaking of supervisor call back request... My husband messaged me just now to say he got the call and it was the same supervisor I spoke to last week (she said she's actually the only supervisor, her name's Amanda). She said she had completed the case. Apparently after completing a case the supervisor then has to get it marked as completed by someone else, that's what we were waiting for. I immediately logged in and... I GOT MY THIRD N/A!!! :dancing: My struggle today has paid off!!! OH MY GOSH! I can't believe my eyes!

More CCs for tomorrow I hope, guys. Let's build on this momentum! :D

CONGRTATS!!!  I am going to try your supervisor method, even though I had a checklist that was sent back/scanned on 9/29.  I will request a supervisor call back.  I have already got my congressman involved, I also asked my doctor to write a letter stating my heart condition; atrial fibrillation,  to show as supporting documents in hopes of expediting the case as well.  I just kick myself in the behind for sending an unrequested second packet of paperwork on 12/25, 2 weeks after I responded to the REAL checklist.  That packet  which contained my household members W2s for the I-864A.   I had forgot to send those with the initial IV packet, and knew that they were required, so I sent them in not knowing that they could have easily been given at the interview.  Not to mention that the check list didn't EVEN ASK FOR THEM PERIOD!!! I was just trying to do the right thing by sending them voluntarily, but ended up getting burned and set back 2 additional weeks.  I am starting to sound like a lone bin, BUT I MISS MY WIFE!!!!

  2. I am curious at to why NVC has been having so many issues.  All these posts that I have read on this thread have all been related to the work of NVC, or should i say the lack there of.  I am waiting in the same boat as everyone else here.  Suppose the fact that this was an election year, the fact that Trump may have some sort of influence on the immigration process and has been very influential on the attitudes of all Department of State Employees, which includes USCIS,  NVC and contractors.  Maybe this is stirring up some chaos within the department.  I don't know, its just a theory, but I do know that there are MANY families out there hurting right now because of the lack of urgency with these immigration cases, my wife and I included.  Write your congressman, senators, state leaders, majority leaders, Bernie Sanders, everyone.  This needs to be addressed!

Oh my :( Did you get a checklist?

Is there anyone else with a September/early October scan date?

Yes, I got a checklist on 11/29, and sent it in the next day.   Then my dumb butt volunteered to send in my co-sponosr's W2 forms two weeks after I sent that check list response.  They did not even ask for those W2s in the checklist.  The checklist only asked to correct a signature which my co-sponsor signed on the wrong line, thats all the checklist costed of, So I don't know what the heck possessed me to send them in.  Perhaps, that will delay me an additional two weeks, you think?

Hi there! Happy new year guys!

We got approved by USCUS last November 21, 2016. My husband keeps calling NVC after 30 days of not receiving any correspondence from them as what stated in the I-797. And today, they just received my case but they were asking us to call back or wait for another 2 weeks for a notice. They haven't given us a case number or invoice number. Is this normal? Or it was a misunderstanding, that they meant until our case to be completed. I am confused why they haven't provided us a case number or an invoice yet. Please help, this is getting frustrating.

By the looks of all the posts I have seen on this thread, it seems that NVC is under extreme "backlog" as they say.  I find it hard to believe, just another federal agency taking thier sweet time working at their own pace.  It looks as if NVC get a real kick out of seeing families go through so much stress and anguish waiting fro case completes, and interview dates etc.  I strongly feel that this needs to be addressed to NVC.  It is becoming on the verge of ridiculousness.  I have even got my congressman involved, and have gotten nowhere.  My prayers and thoughts to all those facing the same dilemma with the notorious NVC.  I wish for some case completes for all of us within the next couple of weeks.

Yeah they usually asked for W2 at the interview , probably you set yourself back 2 weeks but don't worry too much about it maybe you will get lucky , either way you are almost there stressing won't help anything.

Thanks again fr the words of encouragement, I just want 2017 to be a better year, and hopefully the NVC employees will start to show a sense of urgency.  Not to mention I have sent 6 expedite requests due to my heart problems, and have been denied EACH TIME!

  6. Congratulations!

I had an original scan date of 9/29, then NVC sent me a checklist on 11/25, which I responded to immediately and it was received by them on 11/29.

Then I realized that I forgot to send my household member's  W2s forms with the (I-864(A) along with the initial IV package, so I had the bright idea (DUH!!) of sending them in on 12/15, which reset me back to the 4-6 weeks of review from 12/15, rather than 11/29 when I sent the REQUESTED documents in.

I am hoping they will overlook and disregard those documents I voluntarily sent and just go off of the original checklist request I sent back on 11/29.   Even though NVC never requested those documents on the Checklist they sent me.  Now I am sure that that the W2s I sent on 12/15 are going to set me back even LONGER now ( an extra two weeks), even though I never even had to send them in the first place. The consulate would have probably just asked for them at my wife's interview.   All I had to send was the documents NVC requested on the checklist from 11/25.  I hope I did not mess my self up by sending those "un-requested" documents.  I am praying that we get a Case Complete by mid-January.  PLEASE!!!! and and interview by mid to end of February.  Anyone have any feedback or experience with this odd situation?  I could use all the encouragement I can get right about now.

  7. Checklist sent to me from NVC on 11/27.  The Documents requested were sent  overnight FedEx and received by NVC on 11/29.

I then realized I did not send my Household member's W2 (I-864A) with the initial IV package back in September, so I VOLUNTARILY sent those in on 12/15, even though the checklist DID NOT request those.  Called to check the status and come to find out that the review clock was reset on 12/15 with the documents I did not even have to send on 12/15?? even though they were not requested.

I hope to get a Case Complete VERY soon.  Anyone else have this problem?  Any Idea if they will overlook the look the documents that WERE NOT requested in the checklist, and they will just go off of the documents that were actually requested on the checklist which I sent back on 11/29?  And perhaps they will go back to the review date start date of the 11/29 rather than 12/15?  Since the documents I sent on the 12/15 WERE NOT required, and they will just go off of the date i sent in the REQUESTED documents on the checklist.  Yes, no?

  8. I am in the same boat as some of you are. I also found out that each time you send any new piece of mail to NVC, it resets the clock back to the the "4-6 weeks" I sent my Checklist Required documents on 11/29, then i just realized a week later that I forgot that I did not send my Co sponsors W2s and her tax transcripts, I found this out after reading that it is required on the Dept. OF State's website.

So I voluntarily sent those documents in on 12/15, even though they did not even ask me for them. Subsequently, that reset my "clock" back AGAIN to infamous 4-6 weeks again, so I kind of messed myself up by sending in those documents voluntarily. Any one else experiencing this. I should have had my case complete by now if I had not sent that second packet of non requested paperwork *sigh*.

I am hoping they will overlook the second set of paperwork and just focus on the documents that THEY ACTUALLY requested from me on the checklist.

    Thoughts, comments?

  9. I am in a similar situation with NVC, they sent me a checklist/RFE for incorrect signature on I-864(A), well, its fixed and was sent back the next day FedEx. I it has been 2 weeks since that happened, then2 weeks later without being asked do do so, (Because i thought it was the right thing to do) and because it is required as well, I voluntarily sent my co sponsors W2 and her Tax trans, which were NOT listed on the checklist/RFE that I received. I sent them even knowing they were not on the checklist NVC sent me for RFE. Also reading on I-864(1) instructions, that the W2s are required with the transcripts, which I had never sent throughout the entire process, thats why i sent them just now after noticing. I was trying to be proactive and avoid anymore Checklists/RFEs.

NVC is now telling me that by sending this "voluntary" mail package to them, it will set us back AGAIN ANOTHER 4-6 weeks. Should I have not even sent the co sponsors tax trans and her W2s, since they were not asked for. Would this have saved us some time and have had the initial RFE Checklist completed by now and leading to case complete?

  10. I have heard many times, that they in fact will ask to my wife to bring the W2s/Transcripts, rather than do another RFE, to the interview, which will be no problem, considering i have both the W2s and the transcripts she can take to the interview. The latter that you mentioned, of having her bring them to the interview seems to be the norm, from what I have read on many forums and stories.

Thanks for your feed back, this has been a long and difficult road, and you have just taken about 50 tons off my shoulders by responding. Any general idea on how long the case complete will take? Since they have received the corrected I864(a) on 29NOV.

  11. I received and RFE regarding a mistake on my mothers I-864(a) stating that the signatures were not correct on the form. MY GOOF!!! The problem indicated is that my co-sponsor had signed where I was supposed to sign, and I did not sign at all where I was supposed to sign on the I-864(a). I received the RFE on 11/25 and re-sent the CORRECT forms with the CORRECT SIGNATURES (ORIGINAL SIGNATURES) on Nov 29th, which was in a very timely manner by the way.

When I sent the original AOS Packet back in September, I included my I-864, with all my supporting documents, tax transcripts, etc, which were all good. Along with that packet I also sent my co-sponsor's I-864(a) with her 1040s, for the last 3 years, her Social Security Benefits Letter, her Social Security Card, her birth certificate, and a letter from her teachers retirements association proving her other source of retirement income besides her Social Security. It is this form I-864(a) ONLY that is in question and is holding the case up.

The RFE Letter only states that they needed me to re-submit the I-864(a), with the correct signatures in the ocrrect locations on the I-864(a) ONLY, which I have done. I ahve read on other forums, and I-864 Direction websites, that they require W2s along with the 1040 tax filings or even the tax trasncripts for the co-sponosr too. The RFE I got did not mention ANYTHING that they will ALSO need my co-sponosrs W2s, tax transcripts or aything. Should I be expecting another RFE requesting these W2s or transcripts for my co-sponsor at a later time as well, or should I just pretend that none of this happened and not mention ANYTHING about her missing the W2s let it slide, and just hope the the RFE for the Signuature issues is the only problem? sadasem 6.c.

You must enter the date of signaturedasdasdasdasdasdasdasd

  12. Story Short-

I received a RFE because my mom (the co-sponsor) signed where I WAS supposed to sign on the I-864(a) form, and I did not sign at all on that same form either. Although on MY I-864, there were no problems whatsoever. DUH TO ME!!!!. Anyway, the RFE only requested that we re-submit the I-864(a) with the correct signatures in the correct locations, and requesting these items of correction ONLY. Why this took them 6 weeks to tell me this, I have no idea.

Anyway, when I sent in initial Affidavit of Support packet which included the I-864 for me and I-864(a) for my co-sponsor, all I sent with the I-864(a) packet was my mom's tax returns for the last 3 years (1040s), her birth cert, her passport, proof of assets, her 1040s that showed her Social Security Pension on them, and also her proof of her retirement income with a letter from her teachers retirement assoc. I did not include her W2s.

Since this was nowhere mentioned that they needed my co sponsors W2s in the RFE I received, should I just leave alone, and hopefully they wont ask for it later?

  13. My mother is co-sponsoring me in order to meet my income guidelines for my wife of her CR-1 Visa. I missed the income requirements by a mere $375 and some change.

With my Affidavit of Support, aka the I-864, and my supporting documents, I also included the following; the Affidavit of Support, the I864(a) for my co-sponsor, which was for my mom (the co-sponsor). The supporting documents I included with her packet were the I864(a) were her 1040 Tax return filings for the past 3 years, a copy of her passport, proof of income; which this included the letters from the Social Security Administration (she is retired) and a letter from the her retirement association, which shows how much she receives from her retirement income. Also included in the packet I sent her ID copy, & a copy of her Social Security card. She has been filing her taxes as single for the last 14 years since she's been divorced.

Question is: Should I have included her W2s and her tax transcripts as well? or will the 1040s and proof of income form her retirement letters suffice?

I read somewhere that even on the I864(a) they want the tax transcripts and/or the W2s.

    HELP ME PLEASE!!

I have already had on RFE because I signed on the wrong line on the I864(a), which was resolved immediately, and I don't want to get another RFE or worse.

We are so close to Case Complete and don't want to get a 221(g) when she goes for her interview.

  14. hi

you didn't need to send the ID nor ss card, with the ss number is enough

did you send proof that she lives with you? proof of your relationship?

Yes I did, she does have proof that she lives with me. I was just concerned because i did not send her W2s with the I-864(A) although I did send her proof of retirement income from the social security and her teachers retirement income fund.

  15. My mother is co-sponosoring me in order to meet my income guidelines for my wife.

When I submitted the I-864A for her, I included her 1040 Tax return filings for the past 3 years, copy of my mother's passport, proof of income, ID copy, Social Security card and letters from her teachers retirement association and social security income letters. She has been filing single for the last 4 years since she's been divorced for 15 years+. Should I have included her W2s as well? or will the proof of income form her retirement letters suffice?

  16. I submitted my ORIGINAL I-864A on Set 27th, 2016 with my co-sponsor's signature on the line where I ( The Petitioner) should have signed onPart 5, Line # 31.a. The line where the co-sponsor was supposed to have signed under Part 6, Lines 6.a. 6.b. and 6.c. was not signed at all. My goof!!

It has taken NVC 6 weeks to notify me of this. And I did not find this out by receiving a notice from them, I just happened to call them and found out this information. Anyway, I sent in a revised and NEW I-864A form with the correct signatures on the correct lines and on Friday 11/25/2106.

Is this something that could be a minor fix? and how long should I expect for this to be corrected before I get a case complete?

  17. So after almost 8 weeks of waiting, something possessed me to call NVC to find out what is going on with my case. I was told by the NVC rep, that my co-sponsor (my mother) signed on Part 5, line 31.a, (Sponsor's Signature) where I should have signed, and my mother did not sign at all in Part 6 line 6.a (The Household's Member Signature) which was not signed at all. My GOOF!!! Ooopsies!! All these weeks only to find out that a signature was signed in the wrong signature slot for my mother, who is co-sponsoring me in order to meet income requirements.

I will be resubmitting the revised I864a on Friday by FedEx OVERNIGHT. They tell me another 4-6 weeks to "review" my case AGAIN, when I know all too well, that 99.9% of that time it just sits in the mailroom and is not even touched. Should I anticipate another 6 long weeks to get a Case Complete, or is this error such a small hiccup, it will get processed quickly. I have also got my congressman involved.

My question to you all is, when I send the Revised I-864a form, what cover sheet do I send with it. The same one as I sent when i sent the initial packet?

  18. So, I had some issues arise here at home in the US which caused me a delay in paying the IV fee of $325.00 in which was eventually paid on Sept 27,2016. It was back on 2/2016 when I received the IV bill. So this was about 6-7 months where my case stayed stagnant. Will this affect the rotation of my case? Should I expect a significant delay in NVC processing my case, or will it be thrown back into the rotation. BTW, this is for a

    CR-1 visa.
