I have been waiting on a i601 application, receipt notice date April 6th, 2015 and I have received a transfer notice letter saying,
"Preliminary processing of the above application or petition has been completed, and it has been transferred to USCIS office at: Kansas City, MO. That office will notify you when they schedule an interview on the application or petition. Any further inqueries should be made at that office".
Please note that the letter was address to me the beneficiary and not the US citizen. Also this is field office and not our local USCIS office which is in Boston, MA.
My case status was also changed to below message.
Would someone please help me understand this? Has anyone ever experience this?
I have tried to get more information through customer service but I haven't been successful. Thanks!

On August 11, 2015, we transferred your Form I-601, Application for Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility , Receipt Number LINXXX, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by September 10, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
