Hi All

 My mom and dad had their immigration interview on the 25th July. After the interview, the consul  officer said they need more time for admin processing. He didn’t use words like visa approved or denied. He also did not take their passport.

he gave them following  sheet and said you will receive an email from the consulate after which you will take further action. 
My mom received the email a week later which asked for previous travel history, previous passport numbers, sibling information etc but dad never got an email. 
I have responded to the email my mom received and sent all the information  to the consulate but haven’t heard from them yet. My parents still have their passports with them.

so my question is, is there anything we need to do at this stage? Is it just a waiting game now? I am worried that as per the page given by the consul office we should courier the passports maybe that’s what is delaying the process ? (Though my parents say that the consul officer said they will let us know when to courier the passports) 

My retired dad has worked in Saudi all his life.. the interview was at Islamabad embassy.

The nvc visa status says “ visa denied due to administrative processing”.

Did this every happen with anyone before? Should we just go ahead and courier the passports?

but is there a way to check case status.i checked at the elis website,and enter my uscis case number but it keeps giving the old approved i130 petition status. is there any other number?

We tried doing the same thing but couldn't figure it out. My husband got his green card 3 weeks after arriving in the USA. When we got the green card it had the IOE number ( that's the one you need to track it) but now we don't need it after we received it. Lol

its been a month for me here,I havent heard anything regarding my greencard .The immigration officer at the airport told me it can take up to 3 months ,so yeah nothing to worry about.but there should be a way to find the status of the case.

You need to use the ELIS website where you paid your green card fee.

can you send me the link to it? And what do they mean by receipt number? we dont have any

I am living in USA on an IR1 visa,got here a month ago.how do I check my greencard status online?they do have something on the USCIS website,but when i enter my receipt number , which starts with EAC ( we got this when my IR1/CR1 petition was filed and approved by uscis in 2014) ,it still shows a year old approved status. Nothing has been updated.Am i on the correct website?or am i entering a wrong receipt number?

hey everyone

i recently got issued an IR1 American visa and paid the immigrant fee. but i am facing some technical issues i paid online without making any such uscis account (i am not sure if i made one or not) but couldnt print the receipt.

Now to check the status its asking me for my receipt number is there a way to get the receipt number.All i have is pay.gov tracking information

I did ,it still shows READY , case update date :7th sept . WEIRD ! never heard of this before

Haha yepp! He said 14, but I'm gonna start pestering the courier guys in 10 days. It certainly is difficult to rest with the unexpected series of delays and what have you. Anyway, super glad that you got approved too. Congratulations!

My case status went from administrative processing to ready!! weird!!! Did they just cancel my approval!!?

Approved today! It was surprisingly easy once we got in. Prior to that, mostly anxiety. Will get it through courier in 14 days.

I'm treating myself to a myriad of junk food.

Anamata, don't freak out. i never sent in a police certificate and neither did my wife take one to the embassy and no issue was raised. You will meet many many people at the embassy who will have it. I know my wife freaked out a bit when she didn't had one but it's not a required document for Pakistan anymore.

Anamta, you don't need a new certificate. It's fine. We're also carrying copies of my wife's old one because we already sent the original to the NVC.

Besides, the code said "unobtainable" so they shouldn't even request it.

I did not send the original to the NVC,my interview letter says J - bring the original. I just freaked out when I read on the police certificate that its only valid for 3 months! that means its long been expired .i obtained it just before posting the AOS and Civil package to NVC.

guys i know this is too late to ask such questions ,,but did you all get a new police clearance certificate before the interview..the interview letter states a time of one year but the certificate says 3 months

i completely forgot about it and went with the interview letter statement!

i think it will be very helpful if somebody can just list the documents to be taken for the interview.it will be helpful for everyone.

guys i just made an advance booking in a flight to USA..yeah i know this is too early ,but there are certain reasons..

I mean I've heard that first timers have to have their immigration procedures done at the JFK airport NY or either washington airport. Is orlando airport okay? Its an international one.

Yes it is always smart to bring a new i864ez (especially since they are now requesting the new july 2015 edition), also things get lost all the time on the way to the embassy

yes , i saw the july edition,but they are saying the previous one is valid until october..Anyways,il take this edition also.

Should i also bring 2014 tax returns again to the interview? My husband says its a whole 30 page file ,they wont be needing it again since we have already submitted it to the NVC. what to do in this regard?

I wanted to ask do we need to bring tax returns and 1-864s of me and joint sponser to the interview? Since nvc didn't ask to provide it at interview we have already submitted it along with other documents.. But just wanted to make sure do I need to bring it to the interview?

Seriously man , It was such put down last time.My mind wont rest until i see them in transit. Any idea how many does prior to the interview do they transfer the packet?

I keep checking my packet status everyday and its still at NVC. It will be a great relief when our packets finally get into the transit state .. IA
