  1. Hey, so i have a slight issue.

I'm currently going through the adjustment of status process. I submitted back in March of this year and it was received and accepted on March 11th and i've recently had my interview on July 28th. The interview went really well, i prepared and prepared and made sure everything was perfect, at the end of the interview the officer said to me that everything was good and that i'm eligible and that i should be receiving my card within the next couple of weeks which was of course, amazing news.

So i've been waiting now for just over two weeks and i'm not too worried at the fact i don't quite have it yet as we all know processing times can usually take longer then expected. I also don't have an update on my USCIS status check. This morning i thought i'd give USCIS a quick call just to see if they have any further information and this is when things became a little confusing. I explained my situation to the woman on the phone and she said my case was still pending which was all fine but i then asked if she could give me a rough estimate on how long it will take until i get my decision. She then asked me which office i had my interview and when i submitted my application. She checked through her information and then told me that in Buffalo NY (where i had my interview) that they're still working their way through decisions on applications from back in September 2015 (I submitted in March 2015), i was pretty shocked as i instantly knew it would be a while. She told me that it could be up too 5 months until i get my decision.

This is where i'm slightly anxious and confused as the most part of me believes that she is correct as she has the information in front of her but a big part of me also wants to stick with what the official said in the interview, that it will only be a couple of weeks.

Now, i'm not really expecting a perfect answer unless for some magical reason one of you out there work in the Buffalo office and can tell me the correct answer (which would probably be illegal even if one of you are) but i was curious if any of you have been in the same situation as me. I've read through a couple green card success stories online and most have said that they got their decision within at least a month.

I'm just confused as it's gone from one end of the scale to the other, two weeks to a possible 5 months, and it's kinda hard for me to really settle down here until i get my decision.

Any advice/experiences/information would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
