  1. If your dad has an NSO issued bcert with his correct name and your only problem is your marriage certificate having his name mispelled with 1 wrong or missed letter probably it'll be enough for you to show his birth certificate as proof that "...... Is your dad's real name" but im kind of confused when you said "Does it matter if it has an error on my NSO to turn in for the visa it's exactly how it is on his birth certificate with the messed up letter." So are you saying..... For example your dad is "JOHN SANTOS" with his NSO b.cert, and in your marriage certificate state that he's "JOHN SANTOS" then he uses JON SANTOS then there's no way for you to correct that quickly. First your dad's name on his NSO birth certificate needs to corrected followed next with your marriage ceritificate. your Municipal Clerk can fix that for you on a standard government expedited process for a higher fee but as for the Filipino Governement.... A faster expedite would be available depending on "who you know, and what you can give" sorry but i's true. Back with your dad, if he gets his name changed.... That will conflict on his school records and other stuff too so better consult it with your dad. Not that i blame you but isn't it that the "Local Civil Registrar's clerk will have you to double check all the entries on your marriage certificate before you sign and it gets forwarded to NSO?" The key is, be careful on all the things you fill up... Double, triple check everything. Your wife can apply for a NIV but then she must be able to prove to the cosul (interviewer) that she has no intent to overstay and be an illegal alien in the US while her immigrant visa petition is on process. There's a high percentage of Nonimmigrant Visa refusal here in the Philippines because of section 214(b) of the INA where the consuls assume that the applicant is an intending immigrant. I feel how much you want to be with your wife, we've all been through this very frustrating journey. I hope time flies and you get your problem solved soon as possible,

  2. dear duckhunter1,

I'd say move on with your life and find a partner who would be willing to work out and make a status with you and not want you just because you can be some sort of "dora's backpack". I'm a filipina myself but it seriously devastate me when filipinas are generalized as "hoes, prostututa or gold diggers". To tell you the truth, there are "poor filipinas" out there who stand with their own good principles and come chasing their ambitions with all that they have just like a normal person. For some people you'd hear them say "marrying a filipina is like marrying a whole baranggay or clan" that is sort of true specially when the foreigner partner permits it. Learn to say no. However, that is a harsh word to filipinos and it takes them a while to openly accept the reason behind the "NO". In your case, you have tried to give your fiance a better life with her illegitimate child. Imagine, you are open arms with the fact of being the bread winner to these people but in the end "they want your money, not you" "they want the things you give and won't sacrifice on their end to make you happy". Do you really want that life? Then if you don't.... Live and let go, it's easy to mend your broken heart than deal with more pain as long as you live. If your partner unconditionally loves you, she will do everything to reach you.

  3. Your assumption "clearly they are interested in the walk-in part versus appt part" has no bearing at all since he mentioned nothing in relation to that but with rnab's statement you can have a wise guess that he may be scared to miss slots if in case there's some tech glitches on their website or maybe CFO don't 100% implement their online reg-reservation fully. A lot of things can happen under the table in our country and you'll understand better if you were raised in the Phils. Given an example is the process of getting an NBI clearance, they clearly stated online that walk-in's aren't allowed anymore requiring applicants to reg-reserve online but soon as you get in their office, you'll see how lovingly they accept both walk-in's and those who have reserved online fairly.

Clearly, welcome to the Philippine Republic :)

  4. Yes, and mab32 is just making clarifications in regards to that announcement from CFO that was made recently and became effective on August 17,2015. mab32's clearly not asking when that procedure started but how it works in the present. How you responded is relative to telling people how amazing it is to use the old building sized computers when now we are more interested on Macs. Hope that does make sense to you. :)

  5. Here's the thing, yeah! They don't accept walk-ins. Their system's like DFA now and you can choose whether you want to go in an AM or PM sesh. The days that aren't available are automatically blocked out as there's no slot left. in case you don't still have your visa sticked on to your passport when you go there for some instance, you could come back after receiving it and simply walk-in to get a CFO sticker. The guidance counselor will inform you of that anyway.

    :)

  6. Checked our stat on CEAC and it says "Ready" since August 30. On Sept 2, the embassy sent my husband an e-mail congratulating me for my upcoming interview and that they already received and finished reviewing the documents sent from NVC. Judging by that i think your documents are already with them but if you're really anxious to know and wanna make sure of it, it's a good idea to send MNL IV section an inquiry about your case. SLEC's on a first come first served basis but i suggest to have your husband fall in line at least around 2:30 am if he wants to at least finish around noon and know about his X-ray result the same day. As to what people around SLEC say, they have the most human traffic every Monday so it'll require a person more patience for that. Also, they have a cut off so if he doesn't make it with the first cut on X-ray for day 1 he'll know about his X-ray results first in the morning by day 2 and see if he'll be ok'd for immunization instead of being informed about that on day 1.

    Have a good one :)

Anybody from Philippines got their case status changed from AT NVC to IN TRANSIT? how many days should it take? It has been 8 days now since we got interview scheduled..my hubby is traveling to manila now and will have medical exam sept 7..glad it's first come first serve basis no appointment necessary!

  7. Read your post. I am doing fine. It was long ago though as Darnell told you I got several really nice suggestions from my VJ friends. VJ members supported me a lot emotionally as well as for visa process too. I value your suggestion. It is good nice people like come forward to help people in need. Keep it up.

I'm glad you are doing just fine. The moment i read your problem... It's all that i cared about so i didn't take the chance to read the whole thread. It's always nice to have some other people ready to advise you like darnell at some point. I just can't believe your wife did that to you.... As a woman myself, i was disappointed of your past wife and i can't even imagine how infuriated you might have been. marriage is something that a couple works out for really hard. You don't marry somebody as if the person's a piece of on sale item from the grocery store and then throw it away when you felt like having more appetite with another item. It really sucks! The least i could say is that in all walks of life, some people are just there to teach you something.... Your experience serves you a lesson of which you now have to utilize to become a better person. Someone like you surely deserve greater things..... And a wife who will really be there for you for better or worse. :) Kudos!

  8. Emmmp i havent done a lot of research but as far as i know on your AOS that you filed, it's stated that you can actually file charges to your petitioner assuming she is the one who signed the AOS and any joint sponsor, if applicable once they fail to provide you with your needs being a legal immigrant. That is the thing until you actually adjust status and be a citizen, thus terminating the AOS. I'd say your wife dont have the power to revoke your immigrant status because you already recieved it so just dont worry about the CBP....act natural, present all the documents you carry because i dont think they will dig deeper on your relationship... that's basically not their job to investigate. They are just there to make sure that you are entering the US legally and wish you luck and best in life and say welcome to america. Don't freak out! You also said, you have been hired so go on with your life man! As for the Social Security, call your local office and change the delivery address and say you prefer it be delivered in your company's P.O. Box. Now the issue would be your residency status if you are a CR1, im sure there's something you could do with that.. Acting fast is the key! Don't let loopholes go on your way. Also, if you weren't married in the US, i think there's no online way she could file a divorce from US to Singapore? Does Singapore even allow divorce or just annulment of marriage? Also, you'll have the option to work on a change of status by having an Employment based petition... because i think it's on the INA that if the marriage fails before the applicant's able to remove conditions and apply for permanent residency, you're gonna have to leave the US. Research would help you a lot go over the INA's and know your rights..... I'm sorry to hear about your wife's betrayal. People like her don't thrive....
