Try CAPS, lower case, different name combinations, etc...
-
All you need is the SSN application form (ss-5.pdf) along with the beneficiary's foreign passport and I-94... nothing else.
-
Hello everyone. We belong in the same category/month as the rest of you... best of luck to everyone!
04/07/2016 - Sent in the AOS packet04/11/2016 - Packet was received04/18/2016 - Receipt texts/emails -
For your chats include some from the beginning, middle, and most recent... you can fit 4 pages worth into 1 when printing as well.

The DS-160 gets completed and submitted by the beneficiary to the US Consulate before scheduling the interview... so if you are submitting your I-129 packet now that will be several months away after it gets approved and forwarded to NVC and then to the US Consulate in her/his home country.

Have you read the very helpful guide on VJ? http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

My bad, the co-sponsor also fills out their own I-134 form.
-
This will come up during the interview by the way...
-will him not speaking English hurt our chances of being approved? He's planning on starting to study in about a month.... No, how do you communicate if he doesn't speak English?
-
Yes, the I-134A is used for the co-sponsor.
-
Yes, the Quetzales was to pay for the medical exam.
-
Fee is $265.
Letter of employment - Get one along with the pay stubs.
Wait for them to send you "Packet 3" via email before programming the interview otherwise they will just cancel it anyways.
For the medical they require 5 cedula-sized photos. It takes 2 days to complete the medical exam and the 2nd day takes all day long. Bring plenty of Quetzales (at least Q2000) to pay.
Any other questions just ask.

It's annoying but apparently people have had no issues submitting them without the barcodes.
-
I don't see any barcodes on the I-131 at all. The I-485 does have them at the bottom of each page... strangely enough I had downloaded it before and filled it out electronically and the barcodes disappeared. I downloaded it once again with Chrome and filled it out with Foxit PDF and the barcodes are still there. Try that.

Update all forms and evidence with fresh dates to avoid any unnecessary RFEs. Good luck!

It's always a good idea to review your specif embassy's info here on VJ: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Costa%20Rica&cty=San%20Jose
You can also go straight to the embassy's website and inform yourself as to what they require: http://costarica.usembassy.gov/iv_onbehalf.html

Hey - if my fiance's DS-160 expires before he has his interview, do we have to pay again? Is there a way to revise the old one for a later date?
Once completed the DS-160 form can be saved as a DAT file for later use.
You don't pay for DS-160 forms and they don't expire as far as I know... you will have to submit a new one or edit the old one if the information on it is out of date.

By the way, once your petition left the NVC they are done with you... it's between the beneficiary and the embassy to schedule the appointment. Each embassy does things differently where some will allow people to schedule their own interview appointments while others specifically ask for the beneficiary to await further instructions from them before proceeding. Just wanted to add that.
-
Right above where it reads "Dear [Petitioner]:..." there is a date listed right underneath the petitioner's address and a barcode; use that. I'm looking at our letter from NVC right now and it does have a date, look closer. Also look at the envelope in which the letter came as there is a postage stamp which also has the same date as the letter on ours; you could use that date.
If your letter does not have a date listed (for whatever reason) then use what's already listed on your timeline.
"10/21/2015 - Petition left NVC, sent to Buenos Aires embassy..."
Give them exactly what they ask for and everything will be just fine... sometimes things don't make a lot of sense to us but we have no choice but to abide by what the embassy requests.
Best of luck to you and your loved one.
-
Item #18 is simply having to choose your desired DHL location where your documents will be delivered once the Buenos Aires embassy approves your petition.
Item #8 you mention is simple.. consulate location is Buenos Aires and the date and time would be listed on a letter from the NVC which gets sent to you once they approve your petition and forward it to the corresponding embassy.
Have you received this letter?
You don't have a timeline so it's difficult to tell where you are with the K1 process.

What I did was take screenshots of both of our profiles on WhatsApp and then proceeded to also take screenshots of the phone calls between us... good luck!

Thank you for your kind words and wishes and the same goes for you as well. Good luck!
