  1. I attached my DS-3025 and the letter they gave me. I think I have to see a Civil Surgeon anyway due to the flu shot. I'm hoping it shouldn't cost too much with just a flu shot. I'm not sure exactly how it will work though, will they give me a new DS-3025? What exactly is the protocol if you've had the medical but are missing a vaccine?

(The date on the DT, DTP, DTaP is incorrect. My latest was in 2009. I'm hoping if I take my medical records to the CS he can transcribe it correctly when I get my flu shot.)

  2. Got everything sorted with my AOS now just need to sort my DS-3025 and i-693.

So when I had my medical done in the UK, The doctor doing the vaccinations put down that I needed the tetanus, diptheria and polio vaccination, at a later date I went to a nurse to get that done and she pointed out (correctly) that I'd already had them in 1994 and 2009 so I do not need them. However the envelope I handed over at POE obviously contains a form saying I need to get that vaccine done. I'm going to get my flu shot done by a civil surgeon soon, I don't want to get another DPT shot. Can I just bring him my UK vaccination records, get the flu shot and have him transcribe the correct information?

Also I have another question. On the letter I got from my medical (Which was done in March) It says it will be valid for 6 months. I have read older posts on this forum that said I don't have to get a new medical if I had one done within a year. Am I OK to just get my vaccinations? or am I going to have to get a new medical done?

  3. I guess we'll start looking for a new sponsor then.

We'll simultaniously be looking for jobs also as a backup.

I have 2 final questions, do student loans and grants count towards your income on the I-864?I'm guessing not but I thought I'd check.

Also do you have to file the Affadavit (I-864) at the same time as the rest of the application or can we get the ball rolling on the Adjustment of Status and applying for a work permit while we find a new sponsor.

  4. I entered the USA on a k1 visa 1 month ago and we have just receied our marriage license. We want to submit our I-864 and i-485 etc however my wife's father (who was going to be our co sponsor for our i-864) left his job a few weeks ago so is currently on unemployment. His household size is 3 (We are not currently living with him)

I obviously am unemployed and will be applying for my work permit when we apply for our adjustment of status. My wife is a student who is going to be looking for a part time waitressing job this week which we are not expecting to take too long at all.

What are our options here? Do we wait until my wife has found a job and use a less well paid co-sponsor from the family to make it up to beyond the poverty line? Can we just submit her father's income from last year? (We actually have eveything signed and ready to go but obviously his employment ended before we submitted anything). Could we use her father's benefits to contribute torwards the poverty line requirement?

My familly in the England has a household income that is way in excess of the requirements but I am 99% that I cannot use them as sponsors as they are not American citizens.

Any other potential options would be appreciated. We have savings to support us financially so do not really need to worry about that at this moment in time.
