  1. Hello,

    Happy day to all.

So, I just got a call from my mom back in the phillipines and it made me sad. First of, she did her sputum test aug 5,6 & 7. Pulmonary was on August 11 and turns out negative. She was advised to call st lukes on oct 7. Sadly, today August 28 (pinas time) she got a call to go to st lukes sept 2nd. That's exactly 3 weeks after her 3rd day sputum test. Based on what I've read here, that's pretty much a TB positive result but deep inside of me I am hoping and praying for the good news. Now, my mom is 68 and non smoker. Does anyone here have the same situation that can help us ease up our minds? What are the next expected steps if she is positive in TB. Thanks in advance for all your help ?

    I hope she's negative.

More likely, if she is positive with TB, she would undergo treatment which is good for 6 months. On the good side, if she is positive, she would get treatment. It's contagious and could get worse if not treated. But hey, I have seen people getting their visa after the treatment. Unfortunately, she needs to go through that, if need be.

Anyone can contract TB, especially those immunosuppressed, young kids... regardless of any history of smoking. It's airborne. Some people are asymptomatic or carriers that's why they appear healthy.

  2. Hi,

We are going to get married soon and we want to have our honeymoon somewhere else. So no AOS yet. Just thinking far ahead. We are aware that she can't leave the US for travel without the the combo card yet. We were wondering about the US territories, like Puerto Rico. Can my fiancee travel there and back with no issues? Or safe to just wait a few months for her EAD/AP combo card?

    Inputs are appreciated. :)

  3. Ready means they have opened your case(papers). They are doing some more checking and what not.
Yeah, it's case to case basis. Some get it fast, some take weeks to months.

    Ours was:

    7-20 - Interview

    7-21 - Ready(case open)

    7-29- Administrative processing

    7-30 - Issued

I hope you get yours soon.

  4. As soon as they have touched/opened your submitted i-129f package. More likely when you get you get your NOA1, they have already cashed it. And that's a good sign because that means they are starting the process. I'm assuming that they have cashed it way beyond, if ever somebody gets one, the RFE. When someone gets an RFE it's in the middle of the process.

  5. After we receive the NOA2 and get the MNL# from the NVC, can I schedule an appointment for the US Embassy Manila interview or should i wait for the letter from the Embassy? Also, should i schedule an appointment immediately or can i pick a later date that I want to be interviewed? [i want to take my fiance to places here in the Philippines and I'm thinking if it is possible to pick my own schedule just in case we receive a go signal too soon. In my understanding, if we get an appointment too soon prior to my fiance's arrival, i won't get to take him to places 'coz we have to leave soon after I get my passport w approved visa.] Thank you so much!

You can go ahead and schedule your interview once you have your case number. The letter comes in late recently. Start arranging your files/documents http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_10%20October%202013_.pdf You don't have to wait for the packet either. It rarely arrives. We never got one. Just follow the instructions on the link.

I am not entirely sure on how long you can delay the interview. We scheduled right away so I have no experience on that. Although from what I know, the approval of i-129f is automatically extended for a year.

But this I am sure, once you have your visa it's valid for 6 months, 1 time entry.

  6. i have no body to go to, i just came back to home, he told me be ready for me pressing charges on you and find a place because he want to file for restraining order i don't know where to go

now anytime i want to apply for jobs i should press: been arrested right? sure i will have 0 interviews already i was having a difficulty to receive interview call without any charges

Please do this, okay? READ THIS(not shouting just emphasizing, I'm on my tablet)

  7. Hi, i feel bad, i feel i'm official criminal today , i never thought i will be writing something like that never ever , i was victim of domestic violence last year and like this month i forgiven my husband in the court, his case was dropped from felony to no charge due to my words all the time to forgive him, since then , i insisted to don't call the police against him because like he said this time they may take him to prison, and i knew if i call the police the second time we have to get divorced, the husband he became worse thinking that i will never call the police again, he started spitting in face , slapping, ect, few weeks ago he became mad at point he split my t shirt from my body ,it was my favorite t shirt i take a pictures of my split shirt on my phone one day he saw the pictures , any way last night there was a fight, when he do not smoke his herbs/ drinks he start tripping calling me names and pushing my hair this is what he did i found his phone locked for the first time because he was lying about the presence of some of his Friends to city and saying he is going to his job while he was spending time with them, he was fighting, i felt very upset from what he did to me to my hair ect and i told him i will call the police and you will see, he left feeling scared that i'm going to call the police , i left to buy some medications thinking if i call or not, by the time i came back i was changing my clothes some person called my name and knocked the door, when i opened there was the police, even they saw a lot of proofs they said you should go, i feel i dream they take me and i was told that the charge is felony ????????????????? he told them she split my shirt and injured my face and i don't know more, i had some small money that i will use tomorrow to pay they told me in jail i can call him to pay because i don't work, but the bail agency accepted just the money i have with his help or without and i will pay the rest later, i' done, I'm finished he did it, he run before me , i was counting days to hear back from some job interviews that i take, now nobody will hire me , everything will show up in background check yes? is what i'm thinking about is true, i have now to stop applying because i feel not good saying i was arrested. no not me !how can i find job now, i will see the judge in 8 days, they told me take my DV papers hopefully the judge do something and save me , please any help will be much appreciated

1 question i forget if he want to pay the bail in my behalf is this will help my case or no? my life is finished i'm crying i just came to the house i found him sleeping loudly when they arrested him last year i was crying like someday died at the house , if he put restraining on me i will be in the street, please any ideas, i was arrested for something i did not do , i should just call before him and stop loving love gave me nothing , now i'm in troubles, please do not hesitate to give me advice

    thanks

by way i changed the picture on my profile

I am so sorry to hear about this. Are you safe now? Away from your husband? I hope you are in a safe place.

I'm sure they will provide a lawyer for you. Please let them know that you are a victim of domestic violence. You dropped the charges so I assume there must be some kind of record. I understand the hesitancy to call and tell on your husband. Please go somewhere safe. I hope you know someone there.

You're afraid that you will not get a job because of the arrest?

    Innocent until proven guilty.

  8. Hi, my interview sched is Aug26. My fiance wants to book a flight already for sept 7 or 8. You think its safe to do that? Is K1 sure ball? When can i attend the cfo? Is it just 1 day seminar? Thanks!

I don't think it's a good idea. Quoting from their link "Do not finalize arrangements for travel to the United States, dispose of properties, or resign from your job until a visa has been issued and delivered to you. Generally, a one-entry fiancé(e) (K1) nonimmigrant visa is valid for six months from the date of issuance, unless its validity is limited by medical or other restrictions. "

Here's our timeline, our interview was July 20th, visa on hand August 3rd, cfo seminar august 6th.

Not all timelines are the same. Some get it fast and some take a few weeks to months.

It would be advisable to attend the CFO seminar when the visa is on hand so it'll be just a 1 day trip. You can already attend the seminar without the visa but they won't give you the sticker so you'll have to come back for it which could be inconvenient.(both sticker and certificate are needed).

    :)

  9. Let me tell you our timeline.

My fiancee did her medical August 13-14th.

Her interview was July 20th. She was approved.

Her CEAC status changed to "Issued" on the 30th.

    Passport/Visa on-hand on August 3rd.

She scheduled her CFO in advance. She went on the 6th.

Everything went smoothly. So for us, it took 4 weeks. It could be earlier because some people(case to case basis) get there visa 3-5 days after the interview. That is the best case scenario.

However, bumps along the way could be encountered(of course, we're hoping that there are none).

In the medical, they might ask for Sputum culture if lungs are not clear. The Embassy might ask for lacking papers. The CEAC status might take a while. Some people took a month before the visa has been delivered. Things like these.

Ours took 4 weeks, so 3 weeks I'm doubtful.

I hope yours will go smoothly.

    My bad.

    CORRECTION: Medical is July 13-14th.

    (July 13th- August 6th, respectively)

  10. New here and been reading and learning. Advance apologies if this topic has been previously covered and I haven't come across it yet.

My question centers around going to the Philippines to join my fiance for the final tasks and fly home together. I know I can't join her in everything like the medical and CFO seminar, but at least I can be there.

For argument's sake, lets say I leave here on a Friday evening, arrive Saturday morning in Manila, meet my lady there and chill out saturday and Sunday. Medical monday, CFO tuesday, interview the next monday, wait 10 days for visa while saying goodbye to family and friends, get CFO sticker and fly home friday.

Total vacation time from work -> 3 weeks.

Does this seem like a do-able timeline or am I dreaming?

  11. Thank you so much and i hope so too.

I have one more concern. I (the beneficiary) just left my job recently and in the Form G-325A for me that we included, it's still stated that i am employed. Would that be a problem if i am unemployed before my embassy interview?

Also when i get back in the US, i would like to get a job too so i can help my fiance w all the expenses. I know we have more papers to fix by then.

    Thank you!

It's not a problem don't worry about it.

  12. Can someone direct to the right link or part here in VJ where i can find the accurate requirements for medical and interview please. Ive been in lots of website im not sure if they are accurate. Need response asap pleaseee!!! Thank you in advance!
