  1. My husband and I filed I-130 from abroad this year and got RFE within about a month after NOA1 and got approved about 5 days after our response to RFE was received by USCIS.

It is just my guess but I personally don't think this "auto-expedite" thing exists. Having said that, it seems that a case of a couple living abroad together has a high chance to be sent to California Service Center where petitions are processed a lot more quickly than in other USCIS service centers - usually from 2 weeks to 2 months at most. So, after all, I guess it's kind of auto-expedited if you two live abroad together.

  2. We are living together abroad at the moment, and this has led to some confusion as to how to answer the following questions on the DS-260

    1) Current address of the USC Petitioner.

Should we use the foreign (current) address, or the US address of the USC's parents where "domicile" has been maintained (through keeping a valid drivers' license, bank account statements, taxed filed from, etc)?

    2) Current phone number.

The online form only allows for US-format phone numbers and we can't leave it blank.

Assuming we use the family address in the US, should we also use their US phone number here?

    3) Permanent address in the US where we intend to live.

We don't have an exact address yet, but we're sure of the city. The USC's parents live in the US, but on the other coast.

Is it better to give the USC's parents' address (which is also where the USC's "domicile" has been maintained), or to use the address of a trusted friend who lives in the city where we will be moving?

We appreciate any advice on the above. Thanks.

  3. Can someone provide some clarification for CR1 Visa processing, please and thanks....whenever the NOA2 has been approved, is that information only sent via postal service? Or is the status updated on the USCIS case status and email/text approval sent...

Also, although I am mentally prepared for the 5 mos indicated as the processing time, does it take that long and do you have surpass the 5 mos processing time to obtain status by calling.

    Thanks

Hi, have you made an account on USCIS website? If you do, you can choose to put a mobile/email alert on so that you will receive a system generated text/email message whenver you case status changes. My husband received a system generated email when our I-130 got approved (and when we got a RFE...).

I suppose the waiting period hugely depends on which service center your case was sent to. You can always check the status of other people's cases processed in the same service center as yours by checking the Visa Journey timelines. That is how I found out when my I-130 would likely be approved. Good luck!
