Received notice that My interview has been scheduled for dec. 14th. Congratulations to everyone who got through this difficult process and best of luck to everyone who are still sailing with me.

Had my interview yesterday. Unfortunately was not approved on the spot. The officer was extremely nice. She said she would have approved our case, but did not receive my "J1 file" from the proper department. She says it takes sometimes a lot of time before she gets that file. I have no idea what she means, but I supplied every single possible document, and she did not really need any documents from us. She did not know exactly when she will get that J1 file, but suggested to do an info pass in a month if we don't hear anything back, even contact a congressman if needed. She also had some questions about my wife's previous marriage, and said she may want to "look into it", even though we have written a full statement with everything we know. Why wouldn't she look "into it" before the interview?!
Can't believe what a pain in the neck the J1 is.... now I have to wait. I am glad that we were so lucky to get our interview so early, but now I fear that this was a curse in disguise, as I would have rather had an interview two months from now where the officer had all the documents needed and did look into all the details prior to the interview. Now our file will be on a shelf and who knows when she will look into it again, a month from now or 6 months from now. At least we are hopefully getting the EAD soon. Does anyone know the number to call to get the tracking number?
This is not good. I dont know how their system works, but they should have made an effort to get it for review before the interview. It makes me worried as well as I was on J1 visa and completed J1 waiver

Hi Sorry to be a newb but I'm just curious, is that 66 regular days, or 66 working days(mon-fri only)? Sorry for the idiotic question. It's just that I still haven't received my biometrics letter and I've sent it July 26th, I've received the NOA's dated 28th of July, and until now no biometrics ???
66 total days. My priority date is July 17th

Thanks and congrats! My package was received by USCIS on the same day as yours. So hopefully this week.
By the way, how did you get the approval update? By checking the website or email/text notification? I suspect that they only update the online case status at the end of each workday. If that's the case, I should probably quit checking my cases multiple times during the day...
they updated my case status on the website, emailed me and texted me as well in that order within a span of 90 minutes. I hate to admit, but I check my case status at least 30 times a day. I'm on the computer all through the day for my work. My OCD kicks in and I just can't help myself

I received text message today that my case has been updated. Found out that I-485 has been approved and new card is being produced. I had my interview on Dec. 14th. Officer did not approve my I-485 on interview day as my birth certificate did not have my name on it. Very common back home for birth certificates not to have names as lot of times parents name children lot after baby is born. didnt think about it and my attorney also missed it. received RFE and sent a copy of school records and affidavit from both parents on Dec 23rd. Received by USCIS ST. Paul office on dec. 24th. and approved today. Yay... At times it feels normal because of so much wait with the whole process and at times it is hard to believe that I am now a permanent resident of US. (hopefully receive my Green card in the next few days without any mail glitches). Congratulations to everyone who are through and Good luck to everyone who are in the process.
