How can it be that online status says it's pending, but you got an approval email?

I was sure that if you receive an update email about your case, online status is also getting updated. May I ask you to check at your account at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp what is the status of your case?

It is not uncommon (as far as I know) for USCIS status to remain unchanged and still get decision emails. Many people have experienced it. All it means is that email function and web site update function are not always coordinated (they are definitely not linked).

I am not a tech person, so I cannot explain from techie point of view.

This will sound like a stupid question. But can you get approval by EMAIL? I thought it only came through MAIL (post office).

nycbra: Yes you can get approval by email, if you register on USCIS web site (see below) to get email notification. With I-751, you have to wait till you get your biometric notice, then go to this site and register, and add your case number.

I hope it is due to broken computerl system of VSC that I still have no update since 4/21/09, not even after biometric.

Hello April Filers:

Sorry if I am duplicating any thread, but I have not seen April list. It is time for us April filers to start getting approval notices.. anyone approved yet?

Lets share some information.

I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

I have filed I-751 on 4/28/09 till today no biometrics notice. I called on 7/28/09 to inquire about the status of my petition and the lady was very nice and put in a service request for biometrics. Today 7/31/09 i got an e-mail from CRIS saying: " The status of this service request is: Our records indicate that we received your biometrics on June 9, 2007. It will not be necessary for you to attend another ASC appointment".

I am so confused. I have paid for the biometrics and i tought that they are mandatory.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Did CRIS email indicate which case was it referring to? your new I-751 case or the old AOS case?

I understand your anxiety, and I sure do hope that the lack of "touch" does not mean that they have not received our bio feedback. I am just trying not to read too much into it.

Even though I have a proof which is the stamp they gave me, I dont want to go thorugh all this again ..

I have to call them , wait 3hours to talk to them, argue with them, send the copy of the proof and have to wait for thier letter for 3 months....and take another bio again....this is hell

I have not been updated since 4/21, I did Bio in May. I am also concerned about it.

If you use the receipt number provided on biometric letter (but not on NOA1), normally it is supposed to work. But is a common complaint that case does not show up in the online system. Don't worry.

You can do a walkin sooner and go if you want to. Never have heard of anyone having problems doing so and lots have done so.

My husband received the biometric appointment today for May 15th. Unfortunately that day, I will be out of town. I am the US citizen spouse. I understand that I don't have to be present for the biometric appointment, is that right?

Hello I-751 filers:

I received the NOA1 today. Went to add the case on the USCIS online service to track the case status, but failed because the site replies that "the case does not exist".

Anyone had this problem? Does it take some time for the cases to become active on the site?

Welcome to the April 09/VSC filers club. We mailed our I-751 package around the same time, we have no address change issue, but still waiting for the check to clear, NOA1 cannot be expected before check clears. We have to patiently wait.

I would start to worry after three weeks, they're called the "Very Slow Center". Did you send package with tracking?

Yes, I tracked the delivery of I-751 package, it was delivered to VSC on April 7th.

More than a week at VSC, but check not still not cleared. Anyone with similar timeline? Starting to worry.
