My husband arrived in the US in November of 2016.  We married within the 90 days on the K1 VISA in February 2017.  Due to my own unseen medical issues, I was not able to dish out the necessary funds to pay for and file for the AOS.

I am now ready to file and pay for the AOS and everything else.  Since its been a year later, do I continue following the K1 VISA to AOS process or do I need do something else.

Please no lectures on how I should of done it last year.  I have upcoming surgeries in June and want to get this out of the way.

I wanted to make sure we are safe as well. My fiancés K-1 Visa expires on 12-06-15, our embassy is also in the UK . I was planning on expediting a letter to the Embassy in London requesting an extension on his behalf, but was told by other forums I didn't need too. We just finished the DS-160 last week. We kinda of lost a month on it because his packet 3 was misplaced & some misunderstanding on what needs to be done. Do we need to do anything to extend the K-1 visa? He hasn't scheduled the medical as of yet. I am just so stressed out and lost. From the receiving packet 3 what do after is for some reason confuses me. I did send him my info. We suppose to be married on Feb 5th. Any can help me or message me anything. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advanced.

An I-134 affidavit of support has to be filled out. You have to make above the federal poverty limit(based on house hold size). You have to show proof that your fiancée will not become a public charge. Even though I had proof before I lost my job I met the income requirements, I cant use that since I'm no longer working. I don't want to give false information that will cause the visa to be denied. I am rushing to find another job, was just trying to get an idea on how soon do they request the I-134. I do not have a joint sponsor. You cant use unemployment benefits either. So yes I am stressing, just wanted to know how much time I had before they ask for that. I am just worried because I lost my job it will ruin everything.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to ask for the proof of income for the Support thingy once the NVC recieves the application? We just got out NOA2 approved on August 7 via email. We were very excited but at the same time worried. I lost my job unexpectedly few days before the approval. I am trying to find a job fast that will put me above the poverty limit. I am just trying to figure out how much time I have.

We received an email yesterday confirming NOA2. Yay!! Off to the NVC!!

I was wondering if anyone knew exactly what the remaining fees will be. I have been looking online and it just leaves me confused. I want to make sure we have enough to cover everything.

I am so excited for everyone. I met my fiancée online to. In fact it was on Second Life, some people consider it a game. We were friends first so we knew everything about each other. That friendship grew into something very special to us. I know others in Second Life that got married and went thru the same process. Honestly I do not think meeting online makes a difference as long as you can prove your relationship, that you are seriously committed to one another and want to spend your life with them. My fiancée is planning to come for Christmas. We are hoping when he does arrive he doesn't have to go back to the UK. I miss him terribly even though we are always in constant contact. I pray for everyone to have your visa approved. Huggies.

The Dallas location received my application on Friday, July 24. I received an email/text (NOA1) July 28 stating our case is forwarded to the California Service Center. Just waiting on the NOA1 hardcopy by mail. Fingers crossed on the NOA2 to follow soon.

I mailed my application on 7-22-2015 and they received it today 7-24-2015(via tracking #) I am now just waiting to receive confirmation from them that they did receive the application. I am so nervous and worried. I hope I sent them enough proof to show my relationship w my fiancée. I am excited and scared at the same time. My fiancée lives in the UK and I live in Texas. He is planning to visit me for Christmas. We are hoping that when he comes for Christmas, he doesn't have to return home. I wonder if that is possible or wishful thinking? Good luck to everyone. They received my application today 7/24/2015. I am so nervous, worried and stressing like everyone else. I am hoping the information I sent was enough to prove my fiancée and i's relationship. He is in the UK and I am in Texas. I was wondering if there was anyone else in the UK. Fingers crossed that I get the NOA1 within in the 2 weeks. Good luck to everyone.
