  1. Good to have as a student, even though most likely 85% chance the Consular Officer wont ask for them.

    1. Status Letter ('hopefully' you are not in your final year because that loosens your educational ties a bit; but if you are, nothing to worry too much over)

    2. Official Academic Transcript

    3. School ID

    Typical questions for a student?

    1. What school do you attend?

    2. What are you studying?

    3. Do you like what you are studying?

    4. What is your current GPA? (...just maybe)

    5. What year student are you (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th)?

    6. When do you graduate?

    7. Where do you want/hope to work when you graduate?

    8. Who pays your tuition?

    Other general questions:

    1. Have you ever traveled to the US or any other country before?

    2. Why do you want to travel?

    3. Do you have family in the US? If yes, where do they live?

    4. How long do you intend to stay?

    5. Who do you intend to stay with?

    6. Will you be travelling alone?

Try to keep your nerve and not get too shaken by the tight security environment. In all reality you probably wont be in front of the consular officer long enough for he/she to ask you this many questions.

Don't over do the formal dressing, really not necessary to look all uptight. Besides all the formality makes you feel that much more uncomfortable, right? Moderately dressed is fine, no matter if male/female: cover your toes, cover your knees, cover your chest and upper arms.

Last but not least, say a prayer before and after, no matter the results.

    All the best!

  2. Quick question VJ members, on my I-94 the immigration officer wrote 'work permit authorized'. I already have a SSN since like 3 years ago. Im still going to file for EAD but anyone had similar experice? What does the fact that 'work permit authorized' was written on my i-94 mean? Am I already eligible to work?

    Thanks!

  3. Can someone leave me an outline of what you sent in your AOS package; and how long did it take to get back a certified copy of your marriage certificate? I read that if you physically take it yourself to get it certified you can get it back the same day versus sending it by mail where it may take a few weeks. Any truth to that?

    Thanks!

  4. It is. Tip for your medical: make sure you arrive early...like really early....even before 8am. I had an 8am appointment and got there few mins after 8am and was number 36 in line!!! it took all day. I left at 3pm. Its a lot of people and things just move slow...a lot of waiting in between steps of the whole process.

  5. The visa fee is not paid at the embassy,I've never heard of that scenario before. Go ahead and register online, pay the fee;and once the fee is processed,if you paid at the bank (usually takes a few days) or if you pay by card (processed immediately) you will be able to schedule your interview.

  6. Those days that are 'grayed out'are not available, that is the reason why they are grayed out.Only those four that you mentioned are currently available. In Jamaica K1 interviews are only scheduled on a Friday. Idk if it is the same in Paris. Are those available dates you mentioned on a Friday? You will have to wait until a suitable date for you becomes available, keep checking frequently everyday.

    Best of luck!

  7. I think it's 50:50. You guys meet the requirements currently, which is what is required of you now. It's a matter if the interviewing CO asks about the future.

You will need to do the I-864 once you have entered the USA. So If he doesn't make enough then, you will need a cosponsor.

As for right now, on paper you meet the requirements.
