~~moved to general immigration discussion with other like topics. Topic is not IR1/CR1 specific~~
You cannot pay this fee until you have the visa. Then you pay it online before you've been in the USA for 1 year. You can pay it before you leave or after you arrive.
ok thanks,
also i made a mistake, i forgot to put my wife's apartment number on the DS-260 form.
But it is there on the i-864, will there be a problem when they mail the green card?
-
hi everyone,
so how do you know if you've paid the green card fee or not?
are you supposed to pay for it at the visa interview?
i know i paid the visa fee, are both the visa and green card fee the same?
because at my embassy interview i wasn't asked to pay for anything and i forgot to ask.
Or do you pay at the POE?
-
hi everyone,
so on the embassy's instruction letter it says
1) go to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb,
2)click on the link '' print instructions,
3)then ''view courier-in Receipt'' at the bottom of the page and print the courier-in authorization certificate.
ok there is no ''view courier-in receipt at the bottom, so how can i print the certificate?
there is a print option at the top, that will print the whole page.can i just do that?
thanks

Doesnt matter.
sorry what do you mean?
doesn't matter, she still needs to provide the letter?
or doesn't matter, the letter is not needed?
-
Also the petitioner does have a work history prior to the last 3 years
-
Only if they think it will help. So if it's a new job, for example, and they don't have much work history to show in their tax returns then it's useful to have a letter from the employer confirming the position and salary. Or if they recently had a promotion or a raise. But it's not necessary. Just the tax info suffices.
The petitioner is not including tax returns for the last 3 years because she was a full time student and not working.
She will include a statement for why she wasn't required to file taxes.
She only started working back in march of this year, so does she still require the work verification letter?
-
Hi everyone,
if a joint sponsor is being used does the (petitioner) sponsor have to provide a work verification letter?
-
What i did was type it out and have my husband send me that final page. I had already had him scan me the page because I did EP.
ok thanks,
-
The bar code at the bottom of each page will be different if you fill it out online. If you do it online, it encrypts your answers and converts them into the code at the bottom of the page. Since the answers are different on every page, the code is different on every page (different questions, different answers). When NVC (not USCIS as previously stated by someone on this thread) receives it, they scan that code at the bottom of each page and it adds your answers to the template they use. Much quicker.
If you fill it out by hand, the bar code won't work so it will take a little longer for them to input the data from the form.
If you are being asked to take an updated form to the embassy for interview, it won't matter how you fill it out as it will be looked at by the CO, not fed into a machine to be read electronically. Although filling it out with a computer certainly looks more professional and if your handwriting is like my husband's also makes it easier on the eye for the reviewer.
This is actually what i'm thinking of doing. I'm worried that when my joint sponsor mails me the i-864 form,
he would have filled it in with bad hand writing. So what i want to do is type all his info in a new i-864 form and just use his signature page
-
When your case goes to NVC and you get a bill for the payment for processing the I 864 and the DS 260, (and payment is processed), you get the option of filling out the forms online for automatic processing and there will be a barcode
you will have to do these forms for NVC unless they have changed the process since 2015
i hope you kept copy of the I 864 so that when you fill out online, it is the same as the one you sent to your wife
but as NVC needs it, it is not required to take to interview unless they mark on the checklist sheet
i'm way past the NVC stage, i was told to bring an up to date i-864 to the embassy interview
-
The barcode is just so USCIS is able to extract your information from your form electronically.
If you just fill it out using regular pen, USCIS will process it manually.
So why in your first answer you said all pages have to have the same barcode?
if i'm going to print the form out and take it with me to the embassy, then if the signature page has a different
barcode than the others. it shouldn't matter then, if they are going to process it manually
-
I printed it and filled it out in pen, so no barcode appears. It didn't say it had to be filled out electronically, in fact in the instructions it says fill it out in black ink. Is this an issue? It's already in the mail with my signature to my wife.
yeah! this is what i'm trying to find out too.
If the i-864 form doesn't have a barcode, will it be rejected.
Isn't the info more important than the barcode?
-
another question, what if the i-864 form doesn't have a barcode.
Will it be rejected at the embassy even though it contains all the info of the joint sponsor?
-
It has to be the same barcode.
If you made changes to one of the pages, re-print the entire form.
ok thanks,
i was trying to help my wife (the sponsor) by filling out the i-864 form and just have her sending me the signature page. Also if the joint sponsor makes a mistake, i wanted to fill it out again and just use his signature page.
But i guess that's not possible, as you said all the pages must have the same barcode
-
hi everyone,
on the i-864 form can the page where the sponsor signs their name have a different barcode than
the rest of the application form or does the whole form have to have the same barcode?
does it matter?
The form will be printed and taken to the embassy interview.
thanks

The vaccine can not be given closer than 4 weeks apart is what the 4 weeks is about. Scenarios:
A ) If you have a record of MMR as a baby and another from a few weeks ago, you have two and are done.
B) If you had the first ever a few weeks ago and have your medical before four weeks pass, you get a waiver marked on your form for insufficient time interval. It would not be medically appropriate to to give another dose too close to the first. You never get the second (for immigration) because you have a waiver.
C ) If you had the first ever a few weeks ago and have your medical after four weeks have passed, Knightsbridge will say you are due for a second dose. You may pay for it then and there and be done. Or you can tell Knightsbridge to hold your file until you can get the shot free on NHS. Go get the shot and have the doctor fax the record to Knightsbrisge. Then they complete your form and send the medical file on to the London embassy.
Thank you Nich-Nick,
That was the info i was looking for
-
You probably had MMR or something similar when you were a baby. This is a booster shot, not the first shot for you. (They changed the requirements in the 90s or something to need another booster since it's less effective over time and many people did not get it so the US just asks people in a certain age group for a booster).
ok, thanks
i will take it, i won't be needing a second shot
-
Never heard of anyone needing 2 doses of MMR and that's the main shot.
No they will not allow after medical you would have to be complete at medical so they would do it.
This is why it's best getting things done at medical alot of miss information, there is no 2 rounds
I believe HEP is 2 rounds months apart but that's not required.
Are you sure? because i remember reading a while back here on vj someone stating a MMR vac is two shots.
Also the nurse told me a MMR vac is two shots (4 weeks apart)...
-
Hi everyone,
So a couple of weeks ago i had a MMR vaccination done (i know a second dose is needed after 4 weeks).
But the nurse told me i only need one dose because of my age group (16-60 or something).
So my question is - when i go do my medical, and i find out i'm required to get a second dose.
Is there a way i can be allowed to go back and get the second dose with that nurse, or would i have to
get it at the medical?
thanks
-
All the documentation is required of the petitioner because they are always the primary sponsor.
ok, thanks
-
Hi,
if you are using a joint sponsor, are supporting docs ( like tax returns, letter from work etc) also required from the petitioner? or does the petitioner only has to fill out the i-864 form because the main sponsor would be the joint sponsor.
-
thank you
so what are you going to do?
i like you, was in a foreign country for 7 month so i'm not going to get a police certificate from there.
Because it says A police certificate is required for all countries where you have lived for more than 12 months.
But the other people here told you it's 6 months...
-
this is what the Immigrant / Fiancé(e) Visa Document Checklist the Embassy sent me says
Foreign Police Certificate: A police certificate is required for all countries where you have lived for more than 12 months since the age of 16 and any country where you have been arrested, even if you were not resident there. U.S. police certificates are not required.
