Oh, it is the he? Haha.

Alrighty! Yes he continues to work, he has a pending case, so there is no issue there. Besides, extension letter is probably halfway to you. No employer worth their weight in soil will dismiss someone while they are waiting a couple days for the extension letter to arrive.

Woo hoo! Thank you! This makes us feel so much better as this was our biggest worry.

You and your wife sit tight, and wait. There is nothing [else] much that you can do. She is not going to get kicked out, at least you have USPS confirmation that petition was received, and have the expired GC.

And, by sitting tight and waiting, it also means she doesn't step outside US borders!

Thanks! We are planning on staying within US borders for sure - but what about work permissions? Is he eligible to continue working during the time between his GC expiring and the extension letter being received by us?

  3. Hi all,

USPS shows our petition delivered to the CSC on 5/3. We haven't heard anything from USCIS yet. I usually get at least a receipt that they've received within a couple weeks, but absolutely nothing. I called yesterday and the representative told me it's taking 60+ days right now to even send out a notice of receipt. Is this accurate? Any other May filers - have you already received any paperwork from USCIS?

Also, my husband's GC expires next month. What do we do if we haven't heard anything by then? Can he no longer work?

  4. Hey guys,

A question for anyone who is (or has been) tracking their EAD. Is the case number the same as the case number for the green card?

We filed both at the same time but only got a NOA for the I-485 and not the I-797. We called recently to get the tracking number for the EAD case, but the agent told us the number was the same as for the AOS. That didn't sound right to me so I thought I would check with all of you...

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Wow!! That's so awesome!! I've mentioned this before, and I'll mention it again....it really seems like the processing times on their website are not accurate at all, you local office (Houston, Texas) is supposedly processing cases of July, 2015 and yet you just got approved without an interview!! Which I also have noticed that they are approving so many cases without interviews, it's just so great to hear the good news, it really gives us hope, especially since my local office is supposedly processing cases from April, 2015 still.

Wish you all the best and congrats! ;)

Oh my gosh, I am so relieved to hear this! I checked my local office's processing dates last week and saw they were processing cases from June 2015! I was about ready to cry. I hope this means ours will come soon...

3 months since filing, 2 since fingerprints, and still nothing.... Praying for an EAD soon. Supporting two people is becoming tougher and tougher on me.

  6. Hi all!

A few questions about the AOS status for those of you going through it right now. For those who have interviews scheduled and/or received your green card, how long did it take for them from the date you sent it? We sent ours in mid-February and still nothing :(

We can't find our EAD number, so if anyone also filed for EAD around mid-February, could you let me know how quickly yours is moving along? Also, we got an RFE for the AOS, but it was just about our financial records - so that won't affect how quickly the EAD moves along, right?

Last thing...my husband's driver's license expired the same day his I-94 did! How do we get him a new license? We can't possibly wait until the green card arrives for him to be able to drive again.

    Thanks all!

  7. Ometeen (& everyone else who was recently approved),

Call or go to the aramex office if you're still waiting for the visa (& especially if it shows up as issued in the system). We were waiting and waiting & finally my fiancé went into the office just to check and it had been there a week!! They told us they would call when it was ready but no one did and when he asked them why they don't call, they said "oh no, we don't do that!". So if you feel like you're waiting too long, just call aramex or go in person to the office.

    Congrats everyone :)

  8. Yep, they gave us under 3 weeks notice too. Luckily we had a lot of things put together already. We called the doctor though and they said as long as you have it one week before, there's no worry, the results will definitely be at the embassy by the time of interview. Also, you can get in with the doctor pretty immediately so don't worry, even if you want 2 weeks prior, you should be able to get an appointment.

Good luck!! Keep us all updated! :)

  9. Yay!! That's so exciting!!! How? Did you call?

We called and called to no avail. I also sent several e-mails but we finally found out with a reply to my fiance's e-mail. His was a bit angrier than mine, not sure if that helped lol, but it's the one they finally replied to with real information. He put the subject in all caps "STILL WAITING ON PACKET 3 - CONSOLUTE RECEIVED SEP 30". They replied to him with the interview date and with packet 3 attached :)

  10. It just means to wait. You can't schedule your own interview in Morocco so you have to wait for the embassy to contact you or contact them and ask when your interview date is (but good luck with that, they are near impossible to get a hold of and even more difficult to get a clear answer from). Either way, you're one step closer!

  11. K1 visa. Our noak august 3rd. Our application has been at embassy since September 4th. Since then: NOTHING. No answer. No email. I've tried maybe 100 times via email and/or phone. It's approaching 2 and 1/2 months since our application at the embassy with No reply

yes us too since September 30th. The embassy is impossible to get a hold of. It's almost as if our application just dropped off the face of the earth after it left the NVC. Trying to stay patient. Good luck to you and keep me updated!

  12. I did not write or open VJ for 3 years as this process is so heartbreaking and long at times

You all know we worked 6 years to get the visa and were married over 5 when we finally were approved

    He arrived September 5th

10 days later the SS card came

exactly one month after his arrival the 10 year green card is here

interviewed Friday for the first time and his new job starts this Thrusday

    Thank God

    elhamdo lellah

    and everyone for yours prayers

Congratulations! I'm so happy to hear it!

  13. We didn't need to, but have you entered your number on the CEAC website to check your status? https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

See what that says to see if they've even received your case.

Awesome, exactly one month to go. Good luck!

I did try it but it tells me the case number is not valid. I checked and double checked it with the paper work but I had entered it correctly. Does this mean the embassy never received it? Or maybe because my fiance already submitted the DS-160 and they want his applicant ID instead now? I'll check with his applicant ID later today and hopefully see something.

Good luck to everyone with their interviews coming up! The journey is almost over!
