  1. THOSE PUNKS OVER AT THE EMBASSY IN AMMAN DECIDED TO FINALLY GIVE IN!!! THEY ACTUALLY STAMPED THE VISA IN MY HUSBANDS PASSPORT! IM SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED, NOW HE'LL FINALLY GET TO MEET OUR SON! IT WAS LONG OVERDUE, AND HAMDILLAH IT HAS HAPPENED AND WE WILL BE REUNITED SUPERRRRRRRR SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON.! I WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR ALL THEIR SUPPORT AND WORDS OF WISDOM WHEN I WAS NEAR POSTPARTUM LAST MONTH. I REALLY DO APPRECIATE IT.

  2. As some of you know, my husband was supposed to get his visa stamped in his passport in late June, then apparently the day he was supposed to get his visa stamped, the Amman Embassy insisted they need "more information." Which is apparently another round of security checks. Has anyone been through a second set of security checks, and is it quicker or slower or can you not tell? Please tell me someone has been in this situation so i get a general idea of how long it takes. This is super frustrating!!!!! And im also afraid to call the Dept of State because they're just bad news bearers! Thanks in advance.

  3. So Amman Embassy calls my husband on June 21(my bday) to send in his passport via Aramex to finally issue his visa. I keep emailing them asking them whats going on, the status etc. they write me back saying they received it on the 26th and it takes 4-7 days to process the visa. Today, they call my husbands parents' house in Amman to ask or i guess verify questions, like where he went to school, occupation, siblings, etc. Then they said that they would send his passport back and call him once again when the visa is ready to be issued. I thought, that makes no sense the visa was obviously ready to be issued when they called on the 21st. So without hesitation, i wait till 8:30 am to call the Department of State to get the most devastating news: that negative information has arisen and the security checks have to be ran again. At that point, i went ballistic starting to cry( i have a 7 day old baby) asking the ####### visa specialist if they are recording my conversation and that they are making me suicidal with this whole case, and where i should send my suicide note to. I seriously can't take this anymore and i think im going into postpartum depression, these people have drained me mentally, physically and emotionally. I don't know what to do anymore. Any suggestions. Can i sue them for making my life miserable?

  4. I am so miserable right now! My husband had his visa interview on March 20th 2007 in Amman, Jordan, i was there with him. I left a week later because i wasn't allowed to board a plane after that because i was 6 months pregnant. The consular officer who interviewed him told him that if he had to go through a security check, the maximum it would take was 8 weeks. It's going on 12 weeks, and nothing! I call the DOS Visa Center every week, and most of the time they're rude and don't want to give you the time of day. So yesterday, i call and im explaining to the " visa specialist(Even though they know nothing!)" my situation, telling him im 9 months pregnant and i want him to be here within the next 2 weeks, when the baby will come. He tells me that the embassy in Amman had again requested a resubmit or something of that nature?!! This is where im confused, i thought for the most part it would be good news because they're actually tracking the case. Anyone have any clue what that means?! Please keep me in your prayers, as this is a very draining process!!!! :(

  5. just wanted to give everybody a heads up on a situation we just encountered. my husband had interview on March 6, 2007 in Amman and was told up to one week for visa. Well 3 weeks later, no visa. we made several phone calls and emails to embassy and kept being told to call Aramex. Well my husband went directly to embassy today and they never mailed it out!!! well it is all water under the bridge now ( AT LEAST HE GOT HIS VISA TODAY AND COMING HOME NOW!!) but a lesson learned if more than a week goes by and your spouse/fiance has not received their visa yet, go directly to the embassy cuz more than likely it is still sitting on their desk!

    Hi Maureen,

My name is Nadia, and my husband had his interview in Amman on March20th. He didn't have a police certificate, so we had to resend it with his passport via aramex. Last week they resent it saying we were missing the I-134. So i've resent all that and they should've received it yesterday. I heard that they send the passports to Washington DC to be stamped with the Visa there, is that true? And did they mention to your husband anything about an additional investigation that could take up to 8 weeks? Because the consular officer that interviewed my husband said that it takes about 10 business days, and in the unlikely event of the 8 week thing he would be here before i gave birth. I hope it goes as smoothly as your husbands did! Wish me luck.

    Thank You,

    Nadia
