  1. Hi, I had my interview on the 28th of November and my case was approved, but the lady interviewing me said that I need to submit a new immunisation record because my medical was over a year old. However, a few days ago I got my approval notice and not the letter she said she would send about it and I just checked my status online and it said my card had been mailed to me. Do you think I actually need to get immunisation record now that I'll soon have my card in hand?

  2. Anyone from New York Long Island Office (Holtsville) hear anything about their interview yet?

I'm also in Long Island. I'm not sure what my office is though. I live in Northport, not sure if that's close to you? I haven't heard anything yet! And my status changed to "case is ready to be scheduled for interview" on July 30th. I even contacted my congressman man about it but he said that there was nothing he could do. So frustrating

  3. So a quick update. We went to the InfoPass today about the "long wait and still no biometrics appointment", and the woman at the desk checked our case. She said that while the case is outside of the normal waiting time, that everything was as it should be and that nothing had been mailed out yet in regards to an appointment for biometrics. We asked her if there was anything else we needed to do or if they were waiting on anything from us and she responded that there's nothing for us to do at this time.

I also submitted a ticket about it through the online site a day or so before and received a similar message. So I have no idea what the heck's taking them so long.

I guess all I can do is keep waiting then. Annoyed but there's not much I can do at the moment.

Do not take this advice!! There are things you can do. I was in the same situation as you! What has most likely happened is that somehow they have screwed up and the system has lost your address. They will never tell you this though. You really should ring USCIS and demand to speak to a tier 2 agent. I was doing it almost daily before I got my letter. You need to be proactive! Some tier 1 agents won't be happy transferring you but don't even tell them what you want just say I would like to speak to a tier 2 agent you can't help me with anything.

The second thing you need to do is get your local congressman involved. I think this is what made the difference for me. Everytime I rang I got the same answer that they hadn't even scheduled my appointment yet. As soon as the representative for my congressman got involved my appointment was scheduled straight away. You can google who your congressman is, then go to their website. They should have an immigration section, with a form, which you need to fill in and then print out and sign and send to them, to give them the power to inquire about your case on your behalf. I would also ring them after you have sent it and talk to the person in charge of immigration issues for your congressman.

You need to do this all today! You need to be proactive or you will be stuck in this limbo for much longer than you need to be.

  4. Well I guess my post on Friday was over optimistic, bordering on insane. So I haven't received my biometrics letter and the agent I was speaking to said if I haven't received it by today, to ring them and they would fax it to me. So I just rang them and the agent I was speaking to said that I haven't even been scheduled for an appointment yet! So beyond frustrated right now!!!!

  5. You definitely should have already called and spoke to Tier 2. At least a couple of weeks ago.

There is a high possibility that your Biometrics date already passed or the USCIS (don't know how this happens) doesn't have your address on file.

It should be stickied somewhere: If you haven't received your Biometrics letter by 2 weeks post NOA1 date, you need to call and speak to Tier 2 immediately.

I just talked to someone from tier 2 and they said that my biometrics letter hasn't been sent out yet, hopefully that's the truth.

  6. Hi everyone,

once the I-129F is approved and sent to NVC, will NVC email/mail both the petitioner and petitionee once the case # is available?

They will send the petitioner a letter in the post with the case number once they have processed the I-129F and have sent it on to the embassy. This could take a while. I think we were waiting over a month for this letter.
