  1. Did you check the CEAC website? If they let you just take the missing documents to the interview, you will have case complete at NVC and the AOS fee should have changed from paid to N/A. Usually, a good indicator of case complete at NVC seems to be the three N/As on the CEAC website.

If they want the missing documents before completing your case, the address of where to send the documents are on page two of the checklist. On ours, in in the correspondence instructions (last page of our checklist), it says that "to avoid delays, you may have an additional sponsor complete an AOS for the intended immigrant to present at their interview". Which meant we didn't have to complete this checklist at NVC, we just bring it to the interview.

For our other checklist, it said "review the additional instructions below, then complete and submit a new AOS". Which meant that this part of the checklist we did have to send to NVC.

If you read the instructions really carefully, it will say in there if they want the papers sent to them or not. Normally, it seems that any missing document must be sent to NVC before they complete the case. And yep, it adds another 30+ days on the process. NVC suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks. :ranting:

Thank you for your info!!! I just checked CEAC, and both of AOS and IV fees are shown PAID instead of N/A. So I guess I have to send the papers to NVC.

  2. These letters are always so not clear! Anyway, I think the instructions they are referring to are the ones on the NVC website under "Supporting Documents," not in the body of the letter. They also told me I was missing a document that I am also 100% sure I had put in the package back in May. I resent the doc last week, and today when I called them, they told me it takes them 30 days or more to view mails. So frustrating!

You were lucky that they took your call, I was waiting on the line for almost an hour, and kept hearing please wait blablabla....

  3. I just received an email from NVC today, saying that there are two documents are missing or need additional information: marriage certificate and police certificate.

I'm 100% sure that I had these two in my package when I sent it to NVC. Anyway, the letter says "the instructions will ask you to either send the missing or corrected items to NVC or bring them to the interview".

As I read through the instruction verbatim, I don't see a clear sentence tells me whether what is missing or what needs additional information, nor tell me where I should send these documents to.

Will the interview still be schedule if I don't resubmit the missing documents to NVC? because I will bring them to the interview.
