  1. I hate to restart this old thread again but I am so nervous about traveling next week, I keep having fears that I am not going to let into the country.

    I have to prove

    - A letter signed from my work proving that I have contract obligations and I have to return

    - A contract of my lease for my car that I am obligated to pay its alot of money and there is no way I would ever not think of repaying this

    - A letter from the bride saying that I am coming over for her wedding and I have no intent on staying

    - The processed I-407 form signed by the consulate in Sydney, Australia

    - A travel diary detailing check in and out and where we will be

    - I am traveling with my partner who has to be back in Australia also

I am just so worried ....the reasons are

    - Is it an issue that I let my greencard expire and then I filled out the I-407 form, the funny thing is I asked about this at the consulate when I got my divorce papers notarized and she said she would send me info and she never did. I think investigated this year and then I returned the I-407 form after getting some advice on here. I mean the form still got processed and with no problems the form was returned.

    - If there was an issue with me applying for the VWP ( while I was doing it online ), would it have told me? A few of my friends that have had drink driving charges or things like that have had to go for interviews to the consulate, and there was a problem applying when they tried to get the visa. Would my passport number flag if something was wrong?

Sorry I am just petrified of being sent home.

  2. Penguin ie

Once the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services office receives your completed Form I-407 and your Permanent Resident Card, the appropriate documentation stamps will be placed on the form along with the USCIS officer's signature. A copy of this form will be returned to you in the stamped, self-address envelope you provide, or alternatively, a scanned (PDF) copy will be sent to your email address.

This copy of the completed I-407 is your receipt and it validates the return of your Permanent Resident Card. You should keep a copy of the completed I-407 with your passport when you travel to the United States.

    I did all that...

Once the I-407 is completed, you will revert to your previous status as a non-resident of the US. In order to visit the US, you will need to comply with visa requirements for nationals of your country of citizenship. Citizens of certain countries are eligible to travel to the US for business or tourism under the Visa Waiver Program. Citizens of other countries or those going for purposes other than tourism or business will require nonimmigrant visas.

Australia is under the VWP...So I applied online put in my passport number answered all the questions and it gave me my VW

  3. Firstly, I want to apologise, I cannot find my other account that I posted on. For some reason on VJ I have three accounts!? I have posted somewhere else.... Also I dont know if I am posting in the right section.

    Short story

I got divorced in 2007 in September, ugly divorce husband caught cheating, I left the day I found out because I wanted to come back to my family in Australia. He sent me the divorce papers VIA fedex and the grounds that he was divorcing me were a lie, he said that I had run away and we never consumated the marriage. Because he was so terrible and I wanted to move on with my life ( I was 25 at the time ) I signed the papers and got them notiarised at the Melbourne Consulate in Australia. I have emails prooving that he wanted me to sign the papers so I could disapear!!! Anyway... I had a small credit card debt in MY name that he racked up about 4000 USD, he used my credit card to send me back to Australia. I inquired about making payments but he wouldnt send me any information or my old documentation from New York, anyway I take it that my credit is destroyed. I seeked some legal advise over the internet and the lawyer said it was up to the immigration officer whether or not he thinks my story is legit. He also said my credit is destroyed but that shouldnt pose a problem with me entering the USA

Cut to 2009 I did some reasearch and abandon my status even though my Greencard had expired in 2007, the forms were processed with ease and a signed copy of the form was returned to me and I applied for th VWP online.

I am due to leave October 31st from Adelaide, Australia and enter LAX with my VWP and my signed abandon status papers.

I am little nervous, I thought I would get a letter signed by my working proving that I am taking annual leave, that I have a loan for my car and that I am coming with my boyfriend from Australia and that I would never think of staying in the USA again. We have also made travel plans and we both need to be back in Australia by Dec 1st.

Should I bring anything else with me?

I know I have posted in my other topic that I was wondering about the credit card debt and whether or not its going to pose a problem entering?

If I wasn't allowed in the USA do you think that my VWP would have been approved.

I am just freaking out a little hope someone is able to help.

  4. well today my husband and I went to garden city for my AOS interview . I was nervous after having trouble finding his passport and birth certificate and then getting more photos emailed to me from australia in a mad panic and putting my album together 1 hour before , anywayyyyy we got there and the place was full with AOS cases and then the immigration officer led us to another waiting room. We waited about half an hour for a man to lead us to an interview room, he didnt smile at us but wasnt harsh. He asked for my passport and then asked me for my husbands and I's joint accounts. He then asked me all the no questions and then he asked how we met and laughed when we told him the story and he said he could tell that we were a genuine couple . He asked what do I like about my husband and what I dont and he also asked that to my husband the same questions. then he asked to see photos he flipped through them all of 5 seconds and then filled in more paperwork and said my greencard would be mailed to me in 3-2 weeks.

I stood up and thought thats it ???? all this stress for nothing LOL i was glad it was over but couldnt believe that was all it was ! Anyway we celebrated by going to the mall for a shopping spree cause its my birthday friday !

anyway all in all my husband and I couldnt believe how nice he was too us !

  7. Do you have mails/letters/postcards/junk-mails which sent to you and him or to both of you? Showing you two are living together at the same address (more evidence)

Where is your husband's 2005 Tax Return?

Where is your I-693 Suppliment? (I am not sure you need this, since you were on B-1 Visa, someone can verify this please!!!

    Where is his Paystubs?

You have absolutely no photos of you and his parents???? You don't need one with you and him and his parents, just any picture showing you with his mom/dad or both of them.

Few things I find troublesome: (trying to play the devil advocate, don't shoot me :) )

I don't know why the lawyer says "Passport and ID is good enough if you don't have BC". BC should be easy enough to obtain from your husband's birthplace courthouse, Vital Record office where they keep track of all marriage records/dead/birth. You will need to explain this at the interview if they ask. Maybe delaying your approval.

They may ask why didn't you two have a wedding already? What religious reason would stop ones from having a wedding?

Why don't you have any photos of you and his parents? Are you not living with him or don't know his parents? They could pick on you for this...

Otherwise, your package looks ok!!! Good luck!

i have the tax return with me and him both on it .2005 one. everything has our address on it where we both live so we dont need proof that we live at the same address.

ill double check for the birth certificate ... we must have it or else how did we apply for AOS ???

we didnt have enough money to get married in a huge wedding in the greek orthodox tradition to be married by the church means that you are married because they dont recognise you by the church and dont baptise your kids and funerals etc so we have to get married in agreek church.....so basically to married and greek you have to be married by the church or your not married at all

his parents have been in greece for six months and werent here for alot of the events .. they are very old and dont leave the house .. i know thats not an excuse but they arent very socialable .. i dont know what im going to do ..

i live in the same house with him and his parents i have been living here for 10 months ... and no photos i know its bad ...

now im really panicing .. advicee ....pleaase

  9.

The northeast is giving headaches to people. If your AOS is through meeting spouse in US and then getting married here, I suggest taking lots of evidence even if you have receipts of gifts given to each other. At the least bank statements, apartment lease, insurance

  11. :( i know this is an AP question but i always get faster answers here and better answers and i need an answer fast. Im entering the USA tommorow again sydney to sanfrancisco to NYC i have my AP the what they gave me was one copy with my photo and the exact same one with no photo stapled to one another .. when i get to immigration in san fransisco what line do i go in and what do i show ? I have with me my passport my AP my working card any thing else . Im travelling alone and my husband wont be with me so thats why im a bit nervous ... also has anyone ever flown united airlines ? im a bit worried flying them as i never have before i always flew with qantas .. id appreciate your answers people as they are always fantastic
  12. well i have been waiting since january for my approved AP after like 15 phone calls to the USCIS and getting different information on what happened to my missing AP i decided enough is enough ... they have claimed to have sent it out 2 times ... and now its 'lost'. so i made an infopass to see if i could find MY AP... anyway i made an infopass for 8.45 my partner came with me and we got to federal plaza in nyc at 8.00 nice and early.....so we thought...we stood in line and the immigration officer told us my case had been sent to the wrong service centre ..so he told us to go wait in another room .. when our number was called we explained our situation for the 100th time and she said to me that it HAD been sent out ... and its somewhere in the post..... i told her we just got told it was lost and that i had to travel 17th of may ..... she understood and said i should go upstairs to another room....by then it was 12.00pm.... i explained my story again to the immigration officer and she asked if i had 2 passport photos on me....... she sent me away to go get photos 3 blocks away ... after coming in THROUGH security and going back up ... we lined up again and she took the photos and walked away ... i was confused .. she said nothing to me about my AP if she could help me or not ... very unhelpful.... anyway the time is now 2.00pm and we are still waiting .. then this man calls us to the parole window....he told us that he couldnt issue me another parole becuase another one was in the mail .. (supposedly) and that someone else could use it etcetc... i nearly broke down crying explaining it had been approved and i had to travel to my dads wedding .. he walked off and said he could see what he could do .... anyway 1 hour later ... my nerves are shot ... he calls us to the window and hands me my AP which they kindly reprinted ... THANKGOD !!!!!!!!!!

anyway now i have to pieces of paper .. one with my photo .. and the other a dupilcate with no photo .... its just stamped in the box where the photos should be .... what do i do now with these pieces of paper when i leave... thanks allllllllllllllll just thought i would share my expirience !!!

  13. i know this will probably be moved to the AP section of this forum but tommorow is 30 days since it has been approved and i have recieved nothing .. what do i do now ... im due to travel on the 17th of may and i thought i would be fine .. my parents are remarrying and now im starting to worry a little . I have everything else except for my AP ... hmmm

help please what should i do im worried

  14. That's not what happened with us. When we went for my wife's biometrics for her AOS, we were told both her and her daughter would have to come back and have photos taken again for the AP. My wife went the next day and then received her AP in about one week. We couldn't get her daughter there again for about 3 weeks and she never received her AP in the mail. Once she went and had her photo taken specifically for the AP, she received her document in a week or so.

Don't know what the process should be, I'm just saying what we had to do in order to get the AP. We specifically asked the folks when we were there if we had to come back for that and were told that we did.

so how do i know if i have to go back in for my AP ? I dont think I do ive never heard of any cases needing photos ? So what should i do ? Should i make an INFOpass appointment ... ? im very worried
