  1. I had my N400 interview appointment yesterday while my i751 was still pending. After getting there and doing the routine, the officer called my name. My husband was with me and we had prepared for both i751 and N400 interviews. The officer asked my husband to give her the driving license and asked him to stay in the waiting room and she will call him if needed.

She started by asking about our relationship (how we got to know each other? how many siblings he has? what is his birth day? where have you lived? etc.). She asked for few documents as well (our lease, tax returns, car insurances). After that, she said will move on to the n400 interview. She did the typical questions (application, civic test, and english test). Then we gave me the approval form for citizenship. She said I have to eventually submit my recommendation of approval for your i751 and then N400. Since that will take time, we cannot do the oath ceremony today.

We got home and both of the cases were approved. My oath ceremony is scheduled for july 11th. I hope that I can get my US passport in time so I can travel and visit my family in summer.

Overall experience was very good besides the fact that we are all nervous. The officers were very professional and polite.

    Good luck to everyone!

    Hi guys,

I filed my I751 in 2/2018, got the NOA letter fairly quickly, I think within two days, but then I didn't receive anything other than the 18-month extension letter for over a year. Not even a biometrics notice or a letter saying that I didn't need to redo biometrics.. and since that letter is supposed to have the receipt number that can track the case online, I've been in the dark for 14 months until I finally decided to apply for my N400 while the I751 was still pending, mostly out of desperation for some kind of action regarding my immigration status. I applied for naturalization online in early May 2019, got the biometrics notice like within a few days of filing, then had my biometrics appointment at the end of May. Status for the N400 says processing time is 10 months (filing in Los Angeles). But the other day, I got a letter from USCIS saying that my I751 was being transferred from CSC to NBC, and suddenly my original receipt number for the I751 is working as the online tracking receipt number.. I'm guessing the transfer has something to do with me filing the N400 while I751 is still pending, and I've seen a lot of people not like the idea of a case going to NBC because it means an interview, but honestly at this rate, I welcome a I751 interview vs waiting indefinitely... Obviously I'm hoping for a combo interview, but even if it's just the I751, I'd be happy... I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience??

I filed my i751 in 2/2018 as well and filed N400 in 2/2019. Recently I received my N400 interview appointment letter (18 of june at Mt Laurel NJ) and i751 letter stating that mine is transferred from vermont to NBC as well. I am almost in the same boat as you and hope that my interview on tuesday will be a combo one so I can be done with the whole process.

Anyone else with the same situation?

    Hi all!
I filed I-751 on February 15, 2018 (Vermont office). I received two extension letters to my greencard, and on March 21, 2019 I received notification that my case was moved to Lee's Summit NBC. That's probably a consequence of the fact that on February 24, 2019 I filed the N-400...
Shall I expect an interview in the next months?
What happens if I don't get it before October (when the 18months extension to my green card is over)?
    thanks for your help!

    Hi,

mine is almost the same exact as yours. My n400 interview is already scheduled for mid June. Base on what I am reading our N400 interview will most likely be a combo interview. Check your local office processing time for N400.

  4. Hello,

I have applied for i751 on 1st of Feb 2018 (VSC). I also applied for N400 in Jan 2019. I received by N400 interview appointment and is scheduled for mid-june. Today my i751 status changed to the following. Does this mean that I will have my interviews for N400 and i751 together? Or my i751 is transfered to CSC

On May 21, 2019, we transferred your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number EAC18085XXXXX, to another office for processing and sent you a transfer notice. The notice explains why we transferred your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by June 20, 2019, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
