Idy, we're all crossing fingers for you, soon we will all be across the border!
My statusfinally changed it's wordage to final processing, it's the 4th day after it changed to issue. Hoping the Loomis email will arrive soon so we can finally drive to brooklyn!
Good luck everyone, this forum had been a life savior, really.
I don't know what I would have done with all of your amazing support!
-
But VERY VERY SOON !!!!!! soon we will all be behind this useless waiting game !!
I'm still shocked the status was updated on a Sunday-- glad to know someone is doing wknd shifts at the consulate...:-)
you all had been such an amazing resource of hope here, thanks so much !!!!

Holy , Visa ISSUED !!!!
I just checked after being away all wknd and there was a status update today ! UNBELIEVABLE, miracles do happen !
the pop up says--
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. As the officer told you in the interview, if further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved when administrative processing is finished, you will receive notification to collect the passport with the visa from the Loomis branch you selected when you booked your appointment.
Please note: Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. Also, some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached.I guess this is due to AP while visa is printed?
hopefully Loomis wont take that long.
we are entering week 7, so I guess this makes it 6 weeks out of the 8 "promised"
cant believe this hell is over, they had my passport since end of April, been homeless for 2 months in 4 different apartments, solo parenting our 3yo !
will keep everyone posted of any updates..!
-
Does anyone know if the "8 week of processing" refers to work days? As in 60 days mon-fri, or to 8'weeks straight?
Hoping it's the latter.
Our lawyer advised us to not contact any congress people before the end of the processing time, but to make an appointment at the consulate with citizen services for my partner, so she will go in two weeks and hopefully get some answer as its in the same building... Who knows!
Keep us posted Idy and CandAm about any updates, as you've passed the 8 week
Crossing fingers for everyone to cross the border soon!

Im not sure this is true as we were asked to redo our medical exam ($300) as well as send in the new police certificates($75) by the consulate....they told us the exact dates when they expire and asked to redo it.
& the medical exams are valid for only 6 months (such is the money making industry behind the whole immigration ordeal...)
-
This is in our case and GO AHEAD TMRW MORNING and do the police certificate and mail it ASAP.
our case was reset to 8 weeks since the police certificates arrived. (June 18th...) & and I mailed them my passport on May 15th !!!
I was sure the 8 week count would be from when the passport arrived, but of course.... BIG NO.
you do need to cross the border with a valid one. so at this point I would advise you yo just go ahead and do it, it takes up to 10 days for the RCMP to mail it back to you and then Loomis...
good luck !

We just found an option to contact the USICS Ombudsman - Case Assistance to resolve problems with pending cases.will consult our lawyer on monday and see how to proceed...
info here--

&
BIG ARRRRRRGGGGGG !!!!!!
-
Thanks for this Idy!
my partner will write the emails tmrw as she is the american amongst us...will also try to call on Monday.
dont know if it can help, but it most def cant harm as its not an email to the MTL consulate !
-
are you sure this was from today? its the exact email I got during the famous database-glitch during June !
-
well, there is still 1.5hours of work day for today, last browser refresh at 5pm :-) before we all go into another wknd of more waiting...
taking it one day at a time, happy wknd everyone !!
-
The are valid for one year from issue but will have to be valid for crossing the border... Until January there is ample time...
but for everyone else- might ahead go ahead and do that, since it takes for them between 3-10 days to mail it to your home and then you need to deliver to loomis onwards, can take two weeks minimum...
-
Thanks for the update, please keep us posted, I do hope status will change to issued for you today or early next week !
seems like K1 visas are faster then IR-1/CR1?
we're still waiting, starting week 6 as we had to submit new canadian police certificates that expired during the glitch, little did we know would have done them weeks before !!!
crossing fingers for everyone !

Hi CandAM, New User 1000, Idy Fdez , are you in Montreal?
please keep us posted of any updates on your end, crossing fingers for all of us ! -
any news stephansson?
-
Ready means that your file was transferred for consular review, so it basically moved to a pile on someone else's desk...
at least its a sign that something is moving.
our file shifted to Ready on June 28th, after we sent new documents on June 18th, and Im still waiting here, crashing in friends apartment with my 3yo daughter. aint easy but hoping for some prospects as we're at week 5 out of the 8 processing weeks they suggest it would take.
we were also told to not contact them anymore and wait...
if any one has any updates, please do share !
-
Congrats, thats amazing !
-
Or you can use "Montreal, IV" <Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov>
you have to put your case number in the topic line. they are quite quick to respond, but responses are dry and dont give much hope.
it seems like we have similar timelines, the updates on the case are usually due to email correspondence, and they tell everyone to allow 8 weeks of processing since the last document received...

Just joined in as wait times are so frustrating @@@
Was the Montreal consulate always notorious of being so slow?
I'm Interested to know if anyone ever received their passport before the end of the 8 week processing time?
we are in the same boat, got tangled with the glitch downfall and sent additional documents on June 18th which set us back to another 8 weeks of wait.
Been with a Ready Status since June 28th, after the system resurrected.Embassy requested us to not bother them with questions no more and just wait. so we are waiting, my self, wife and our 3yo daughter, crashing in a friends apartment. aint easy.
interview was in October
passport sent in April (missing pages.)
New passport sent May 15th and arrived on May 29th
Status changed to Ready on June 28th
