  1. This is by far the most informative site to be inspired and encouraged, to get through those uncertain moments.

If it wasn't for those who shared here before, I would not have got in touch with Congressman for help. I would probably let the new job offer pass because 90-day EAD processing time was just impossible...now I had it approved in less than half the time, and Congressman's office just mailed me a letter (paper one) asking if I need any further assistance! I called and said that I want to send flowers to their office...they laughed and said a thank-you email would suffice.

Again, thank you all for your sharing here that have helped so many!! :goofy:

  2. Hi all,

I would like to share my experience with a local Congressman successfully expediting EAD for me. I basically read a lot of useful tips from this forum.

    My journey:

    05/22 USCIS received my I485, I765, I130, I131

    05/27 Checks cashed

05/29 Bio date set for 06/15 and mailed

    05/30 NOA received

    06/09 Walk-in Bio done

06/25 Contact Congressman office to urge USCIS to Expedite for me

06/29 USCIS open my case, responding to wait 3 weeks

07/02 On MyUSCIS, "Case approved", into Post Decision Activity

    07/10 Approval Letter received.

07/10 On MyUSCIS, "Card mailed out to me", now waiting to receive it.

It is on 42nd day that my EAD approved. My local Congressman's office was very efficient. I think also because I have a solid case with job offer letter, Initial job contract specifying to present EAD to complete the hiring, some mortgage payments and bills. I scanned all documents in one PDF to avoid REF so it was just the fourth day after USCIS gave my case to the expedite team that it was approved.

During those in-between wait times, I was anxious and uncertain, mostly because so many bad experiences online that seemed anything unfortunate could happen. Even now I have to wait for the card to show up in my mailbox to say it has really come through. But I am grateful for the system and my local Congressman. They gave me great service and I only spoke to one representative briefly on the phone. My overall experience is this really works. Thanks to all of you who have shared here.

    Best of luck for all!

    :dancing:
