My wife's interview was today. Took a little time (they had additional questions before her interview, and took her longer to get to the interview), but told her she was approved and to expect her Passport back in a week

My wife got the interview letter via email just now. Interview date is April 25th at the Tokyo Embassy.

My scan date was January 22nd. I called today (one month) and they said they were still reviewing my case and to give them up to 45 days.

I was finally able to get her a regular ID with an alien ID number with help from my command.
-
Yes this is for DEERS. She is already enrolled, but she has a 90 day temporary ID with a TIN (temporary ID number). According to PSD and various military websites, they require either an SSN or an ITIN, the TIN is just temporary.

Quick question guys,
So right now my wife has a dependent ID using a temporary ID number. The military requires either a SSN or an ITIN for a permanent ID.
What confuses be about the ITIN is the instructions for form W-7 want you to have a foreign spouse claimed on your taxes and submit that with the W-7 to get an ITIN. However I was not married to my foreign wife in the previous tax year, and those taxes are already filed as single. What do I have to do to get an ITIN number without having her claimed on my taxes?
Thanks.

I'm the same as you, a service member overseas filing for my foreign wife.
When I sent mine in, I had blocks that weren't big enough (like the address blocks) I just attached a paper with the additional information printed on there. There were no issues as my Form I-130 was approved.
I used my physical address instead of my APO. Only reason being when I deploy, my apo mail comes to where I am, and I wanted information to go home to where my wife was.
