Hey everyone, I was hoping to get some advice on my case! Here is my timeline so far:
Adjustment of Status Event Date CIS Office : San Antonio TX Date Filed : 2016-01-21 NOA Date : 2016-01-25 RFE(s) : 2016-03-05 Bio. Appt. : 2017-05-04 So its been 536 days since we initially filed our paperwork for AOS from a K1 visa on Jan 21, 2016 and we are over the average processing times, yet no one seems to be able to help us. I have tried talking with our state rep, our ombudsman, called USCIS on the phone multiple times, and have filed multiple online case inquiries, and when we went down to the USCIS service center for biometrics no one would tell us anything either. I am at a loss as to why our case is taking so long and why no one will help us. On our case inquires, the few times that they have responded all they have said is "due to work factors unrelated to your case, expect a delay" and then there was one that said if you haven't heard anything in 90 days please contact us, but still nothing. Not only that, but it took 16 months to even receive a biometrics appointment.
He came on a K-1 visa from the United Kingdom and I even have a co sponsor, I am in San Antonio, Tx. If there is any advice y'all can give me or anything that will help please write me.

Have you tried to reach out to Ombudsman? We filed our case a week after you. Early this week the Ombudsman reached out to us and the second day we got our interview scheduled.
I tried to contact them the other day, and they responded to me and said they are unexperienced with this kind of case and can't help me. Who was the ombudsman who helped you??

It shouldn't be taking this long when you are not even in line for an interview.
You should have your bio and also have to redo your medical since it's no good any longer.
Sounds like some background check.
Do you have EAD/AP? Have you renewed those so you can still drive and work and travel?
What exactly is the infopass for? I haven't tried making one, and no we don't have an EAD/AP because we didn't think we qualified. I might have to try contacting my senetors office later today.
Thanks for all your help.

Hey all,
I was hoping to get some feedback and help on my pending case. Here is my progress on AOS so far:
Filed I485 on Jan. 21
1st NOA on Jan. 25
RFE Request on March 5
RFE Received on March 31
Case Inquiry Letter Nov. 15
I'm trying to figure out why my case is taking so long, I recently filed the form for case inquiry on the USCIS website and they then sent me a letter stating "due to unrelated factors to your case expect a delay". Is anyone else still waiting for a greencard that filed in Jan. of 2016, or has anyone else received a letter like this?? I am starting to become very frustrated as it is coming up to the one year mark and I am seeing many other cases shorter than mine becoming approved. I have tried to reach out to my State Rep. but haven't received any responses. Is there anything else I can do? I haven't even received a biometrics appointment yet, however when I called the USCIS they said sometimes they will waive it if you had your fingerprints done at the airport, and that if they do decide to do that I won't be notified. The last case update I have is the one stating on March 31 the National Benefits Center has received my RFE paperwork and will begin to work on my case again. If anyone else is going through this, or has any ideas that could help me please comment and let me know!!!

A little nudge in the right direction always helps... You can check whether they have the same address for you too.
Ps have you been dodging all the hail that has fallen recently? ? Crazy weather!
I think they have the right address because they sent us the RFE and then on our case status on the USCIS website it says that they received our reply. Yes, thankfully we avoided hail so far but have been in the flooding zones! Stay as safe as you can (:

You should call and tell them you have not received the appointment. They schedule them within 30 days usually.
Thank you, yes that is kind of what I was thinking. Do you know the correct number to call?

Hello, I was just wondering how everyone else is doing on their aos process so far? How long has it taken some of ya'll to get your biometrics appointment?
We filed our adjustment of status petition on Jan. 21, and got noa1 on Jan 25. Then, received an RFE about joint sponsor on March 5 and haven't heard anything about biometrics yet. The cases I have looked at everyone seems to have gotten a biometrics app. before receiving an RFE so I'm kind of confused. Is there anyone else in the same boat as me? Thanks.

Can someone who got their NOA2 please advise..
When they accept the NOA2, whats the first thing updated? Is it the online case checker? How long after does the petitioner get email/text?
Thanks
For some reason for our case we haven't received any texts or emails so we assume somehow they lost our sheet that had that information; but I checked the case status on uscis and thats the most important thing (: Once you see the update to 'my case has been approved' they will then send you a letter which you will receive some time after. So, for now I would say focus on checking the case status!

I got my NOA2 approval today!!! I am so thrilled!! It said I actually received it yesterday but it only notified me today(:

I tried to submit an inquiry on the USCIS page as it has been over 6 months since I received our NOA1. Those sneaky little guys at TSC.... refuse to accept my inquiry because my case falls within their processing time of November 10th. I AM GOING TO SCREAM!!!
My NOA1 date is 02/03/2015 and while I am so HAPPY and THRILLED for everyone getting their NOA2 from TSC so far, I am just frustrated to the point of bursting into tears.
Completely agree with you! I was looking forward to submitting the inquiry if we hadn't heard by the six month mark hoping or any sense of when we would be approved! I was so frustrated after they wouldn't except it too. I'm happy for those who are getting theirs but I just want to know what is going on haha

Really pleased to see those with mid-February NOA1 dates receiving their NOA2s but so frustrating given that our NOA1 date was Feb 3rd and still nothing.
My NOA1 date is Feb 3rd too and have heard nothing! It's so frustrating especially wondering why other people receive theirs before ours, and there's nothing we can do about it! Ours is for UK to Texas!

Approved on July 28th. No email or notification, just happened to check my case status today. Thrilled!
Congratulations that's amazing news! Even though I can't help but be jealous because I sent mine in before yours and our fiance's are from the same country. This process is so mind boggling!

My Noa1 date is February 5th and I still haven't heard anything either
My noa1 date is February 3rd and I haven't hear yet either! It's making me so anxious as it's almost been 6 months! Is there anyone else who has dates near the beginning of Feb who haven't hear back yet?

You can contact them whenever. Whether or not they will be willing or able to help you now depends entirely on the caseworker your congressman has. The "official line" is that they can't open an inquiry on hour behalf unless you are outside USCIS's published processing times seen here:
https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do;jsessionid=abcNxczBoTdiia9wc3Z5u
Yes, that is as of April 30 and yes now it is 5 weeks later and no, USCIS doesn't care. That is, in my opinion, how they buy themselves extra time before people are allowed to open inquiries. So according to the official line, you're only allowed an inquiry if you applied before Oct 8. Some congressional staffers take this seriously, others are willing to try anyway (and are told the same thing by the person on the phone). Some may manage to get something done for you if you're not pre-Oct 8, most won't. Can't hurt to try.
My plan would be to wait until the 5 month mark and use that for leverage. Say that the goal time is 5 months, it's not your fault there's a backlog, you want to open an inquiry. See what they do.
So I recieved my NOA1 on February 5, and only received a mail copy. I had attached my details for email and phone verification as well but never got any from them. Should i be conscerned? It's been 5 months now and I don't know how much longer this will take, or when i should submit a case inquiry, and what is this about contacting congressman etc.? I had no idea that was even an option!

I hope you're right!! The RFE was because they wanted more paperwork from our Co-sponsor!
