  1. I actually just called and got my interview date over the phone!!!!!!! They said it was booked on Jun 14th, and my case was completed on June 26th! So they actually book the interveiws before they complete the case?? Call back and maybe you'll get someone who will look a little deeper into it for you!!

    congrats jkris14!!!

    Congrats.

I hope they will give an interview date soon. My Cc was June 16. Getting frustrated.????

May I know when is your interview date?

you should try calling. you should hear soon. ours is end of august.

  2. I am in the same boat! I received my cc email on July 6...still waiting to hear about the interview. We called yesterday to see if they had booked one - and nothin' yet... :-|

I'm hoping that we get an interview soon! It normally takes 2(ish) weeks then to get the interview booked? We're so anxious - we've been at this since June of last year!

Loudri - it would be great to chat with you about this - since you have a cc date fairly close to ours!

I just figured out how to use this site - so I've just been reading all the comments until now! Glad I'm finally able to ask questions!!

I called yesterday as well! Our actual CC date was June 29th, so we just missed the deadline to receive our interview date at the beginning of the month. Based on what I've read, the schedule interview dates in batches, in the first week and last week of the month, so we should hear something at the end of the month. We've been at it since last June as well! You should check the CC to interview spreadsheet as well, and just sort by Canada: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xbLl_8yDgHLeDaLnTrPdYc44J0sjPSFfYCKxlKx6uTY/edit#gid=0

  3. Generally on last page they have section something with " [x] " do you have that?

if you like call them and they will exactly tell you what paper do they need.

Read this very carefully section regarding I864 and it will save you time and money and will have peace of mind

Yes, I have that, it says my IRS transcript is missing. I understand what document they want, I just don't know if they want it mailed to them or if we just need to bring it to the interview.

  4. Sorry in advance this is long, but could really use some direction here.... :crying:

We received notice 7/7 that all documents to process our case had been received, and to hold tight for our interview date.

7/9, we received notice that one document (IRS tax transcript) was missing. I'm American, my husband is Canadian and I'm petitioning to bring him over.

Below I've included 2 excerpts from the 7/9 notice we received that seem contradictory and confusing. I've bolded what is confusing. If anyone has actual experience with this, please let us know how to proceed - I'm not sure if my husband just needs to bring the IRS transcript to his interview, OR if our case is on hold until we mail them the IRS transcript.

I'm terrified of screwing this up and waiting around for an interview date that never comes because our case is on hold.

On page 3 of the letter, they state the following my husband. We think this is some generic text that they send to everyone with missing documents but we're not sure:

"We reviewed your I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A Affidavit of Support form and supporting financial documents. We found that you didn't provide all the necessary supporting documents or you had incomplete information or you missed some questions on the Affidavit of Support form(s).

On the attached Affidavit of Support checklist, we have put an "X" by each item you need to correct. You must send additional financial supporting documents or complete and submit a new form with the corrections noted on the attached checklist, or both. You will need to go to the Department of State's website at http://nvc.state.gov/aosand follow the instructions for the Affidavit of Support form(s). From there, you can fill out a new form online, then print and send it to the NVC. Please read all instructions and send the necessary forms and supporting documents to the NVC. We require an Affidavit of Support form for each case regardless of your income level.

Your case is on hold until you send us the items we need. When you return the documents to the NVC, please make sure that the documents are in the correct order and stapled together, as stated in the I-864 Important Notice instructions."

On page 4 of the letter, they state the following to me. This is what we think we're supposed to do but we want to clarify:

"The National Visa Center (NVC) recently reviewed your I-864 Affidavit of Support form. The Affidavit of Support form had one or more sections with missing or incorrect information or was missing required supporting documents, or both.

Please review the instructions below to complete a new Affidavit of Support form or to obtain the missing supporting documents. Send the corrected Affidavit of Support form or original documents that are missing to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the immigrant visa interview. You should also send photocopies of the Affidavit of Support form to the principal applicant for each traveling family member to take to the visa interview. Failure to take the original documents and copies for each traveling family member to the visa interview can cause processing delays. The Consular Officer will review the corrected form and documents at the time of the interview.

You do not need to contact the NVC at this time. Also, do not send an updated I-864 Affidavit of Support form or documents to the NVC. After we schedule the immigrant visa interview, we will send you an appointment letter."

  5. What is your Case Complete date on the letter (or when is the letter dated and subtract 7 days)?

Montreal seems to schedule interviews in batches.... I received my (final) CC on 5/18 but did not get the interview date until June 2.... It just depends where you fall in the batch.....

But it won't be long now!

Take this time to prep for the interview..... will you have to travel to Montreal? need a hotel? Start prepping your interview folder (there is a ton of info around VJ with what people have been asked for at the interview)... read the Consulate reviews for the experiences others have had recently so you know what to expect.....

    Best wishes!!

Thanks, this is really helpful! The date on our letter is July 7, so I guess our CC is July 1?

  6. My husband is Canadian and is immigrating to the US. We just received notification on Monday that they have received all documentation necessary to process our case, and that they'll notify us as soon as an interview date has been scheduled. Have other Canadians been through this recently? How long did it take between them informing you that all documents were received, and them giving you your interview date? Any feedback would be much appreciated!
