  1. Has anyones case ever be sent to get reviewed by a supervisor and how long did it take to get the response? Also how long does it take to get response if you email the request for expedition?

I called this morning regarding my parents case and to why my mother has an interview on November 3 and why my father doesnt. Again, they said its weird it should've definitely been scheduled together so she sent my fathers case for review to a supervisor. and then the rep also told me to email and explain everything requesting and expedite since his case is already approved all they would have to do is just make sure they both get the same interview date. Until then....my whole family is stressing out :(:crying:

  2. Can someone help me please. I posted this question over the weekend not sure it someone responded.

i applied I-130 for my mother and father at the same time. They both got the same CC date and were supposed to get same interview date. Over the weekend P4 was sent only for my mother for interview November 3. My fathers P4 was not sent. I called NVC yesterday. They confirmed my mothers interview, they confirmed that my fathers case was complete and all the guy said was "oh that's weird they weren't scheduled together." He told me to call the embassy and tell them to see if they can schedule my father the same day as my mother. I call embassy this morning and they said they can't do anything because NVC is the one who schedules interviews. So what do I do guys? Call NVC again or call embassy again but explain a different way? My mother has already scheduled her medicals for October 20.

  3. Call NVC, they should be able to fix it. Their cases are merged, right?

For me, both my case and my daughter's were scheduled for the same time.

They're not really merged, they have two different case numbers. But since day 1 when I applied and turned everything in both have been processed at the same time, approved at USCIS at the same time, both got CC same day. And when I spoke to the guy this week I asked him if they would have the same interview date and he said yes thats the plan. I guess I will call them on Monday.

  4. YAY, just received P4 letter for my mom for November 3!!!

Weird though, I did not receive P4 letter for my dad. When I called NVC this week they said they would have them both get interviewed at the same time now im not sure. Does anyone know how I can get them both in the same interview? It will be hard for them to drive to South Africa twice for interviews it will also cost more money if they have to go on two different occassions.

  5. Finally, finally, .... FINALLY!! After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, I awoke this morning to find the P4 email in my inbox! Everything is right with the world again! Ok, not right ... it would be right if my case showed 'In Transit' or 'Ready' instead of 'At NVC'! I'm hoping it will change soon. Our appointment is just 11 days away!!

To those of you still waiting or in process, good luck to you!! May your cases all be handled in the quickest possible way and may all your calls to the NVC have a short time on hold!

To those of you who have gone before us, mere words will never express my gratitude for sharing your knowledge of the process. You are the reason we were able to glide through the entire process without too much suffering! (L)

And finally, dwheels76 ... you are indeed an angel! I've read countless posts from you offering your advice and help to all in need. Your help, your spreadsheet, and your tireless dedication to help all of us on this journey are appreciated more than you will ever know!! (L)

Now that our journey to see the wizard is near the end I shall prepare to click my heels ... here's hoping our journey home is as quick and effortless as Dorothy's!

Which website or where do we check the status for "in transit" "ready" or "at NVC"? thanks

  6. Congratulations. Welcome to the group. Are you interviewing in SA? I see you have Case Complete would never have known. I added you to spreadsheet. Could you update your profile so your flag shows and also update your timeline you have Armenia. This people from your country can find you and ask like you just asked Ochili. No one would know what country you are going to interview.

You helped me with a few questions a few posts back lol and you probably missed my case complete post. I applied for my parents its IR-5 case. They are not from South Africa but they are interviewing there because that's the nearest consulate that does those types of cases. Armenia didnt see that at all ill update it. Thank you!

  7. just got CC on my case!!! i had called NVC last night just to check on the status in case we were missing something. the lady told me they hadn't even reviewed the case yet. i politely said ok and got off the phone. just checked online and AOS has changed to N/A!!! I'm super excited. I am glad I called. Maybe she pulled the file after that!? i'll never know. When should i start calling to check for interview date? I hope South Africa is not jam packed with interviews. Still hoping to get an October date!

Awesome, so happy for you!! currently waiting for my parents case too. How long did it take from the scan date to case complete?

  9. My cc was completed 07/16 still waiting on an appointment and there not enough data for me to even guess when DAKAR will send appointment slots .There are about 6 countries that do interviews in Dakar and I have yet to see one poste anything about an interview .this is just frustrating :ranting::ranting:

Oh wow, now that you say that i wonder how many other countries do interviews in South Africa. I hope not a lot

  10. Thank you so much for your help! You made me feel a little better regarding South Africa's embassy. I haven't seen my parents in 8 years I just hope to be able to spend Christmas with them. I am also planning my wedding so I hope my mom will be able to be there so she can experience the whole planning process she's already missed my dress fitting.

Each embassy have slots for the kind of Visa category they will conduct that month. Lets say I am Supervisor #5 and I have South Africa's October schedule. It will show like 3 on this date category IR1/CR1, 2 on that date F2A and so forth and they start assigning cases to the dates. They stop when they either run out of cases or run out of slots.

So its not a country by country. You see some countries getting announced before others because maybe the embassy sent in schedule sooner. Or there weren't as many to do or that scheduler was faster.

I know Pakistan and India are usually the last and usually do 2 rounds one at 1st to 2nd week like now and end of month.

Many embassy that don;t have alot of visa interviews you just get scheduled in what is available.

A place like my embassy Lagos does on average 300 to 400 Visitor Visa, Student Visa, Business Visa interviews per day. They normally take no more than 3 CR1/IR1 Mon-Thur. K1's about the same.

Hope that helps a little to understand. (but South Africa is usually not a long wait for any category) not a real busy embassy. :goofy:

  11. Hi,

I finally got through to NVC last night. They were able to give me the case numbers and invoice numbers for my parents petitions. He did say that the bill is not available yet for me to pay. He also didn't mention when they received the petitions from USCIS. Does anyone know typically how long it takes to be able to go online and pay the fees after the case number becomes available?

  12. I called that number on approval notice from USCIS many many times until someone picked it up and talk to me. I thought I repeately ring at least 45 times and waited for 40 minutes to get my case number. Or you can wait until they send you a letter from nvc centre. It will be in months or weeks. It is up to you.

Yes, I finally got case number and invoice number. Does anyone know how long it takes to be able to go online and pay the fees?

  13. Did you call USCIS to see if your case has been shipped to the NVC?

Have been calling allllll day and I just got through. First lady said she does have both of my parents cases. Before I could ask her for case number she said she would transfer me to a visa specialist. Crossing my fingers there's at least a case number. I'm happy just to hear that they do have it though. I just want my mom and dad here during my wedding preparations. I hate that Im going to look for my dress next week without her :crying:

  14. Call again - maybe speaking to a different person at the USCIS will be of help.

About the NVC, it is always busy. I just got off the phone with them, took me about 10 calls to get in. Keep trying

Got through to NVC! I was soo excited to finally hear a ring instead of the "thank you..." they DID receive my case even though USCIS never update their website! Now on hold trying to find out when it was received and if there's a case number assigned. Thank you!!

  15. Did you call USCIS to see if your case has been shipped to the NVC?

I did just now and spoke to a very elderly lady. She tried to explain to me that the case is still within the 5 month processing time to call back after the 5 months are over. I tried to explain it to her that the case was already approved I was just checking to see if it was sent to NVC yet and she kept repeating the same script. So frustrating! I just read somewhere that they are not updating all statuses. I've been calling NVC all week and that automated message of high call volume just keeps coming on. :(
