If you did not file a return for a given year, then you can still go back and file for those unfiled years.

Congrats to sazzy and Pete's Dragon.
How were your ceremonies?
Good luck at the interview today, Groovyaardvark.
And good luck at your ceremony on Friday, klm9971.
Very emotional. For 15 years, a visa overstay. Had the opportunity to marry many American citizens during that time, but married for love not for papers. Jesus Christ was our protector, provider, and shield for 15 years defending against those who would take advantage of someone who was here out of status. It was the answer of 20 years of prayer all bound up into a meaningful ceremony of 30 minutes surrounded by family.

US Citizen today. Thank you all.

Pete, for the photograph did you write a breife description and place and date on the back?
No, I described the photographs in my cover letter.

Hello:
Please someone guide me about what does " congrats, recommended for approval" mean?
The language to me seems like a grey area, in between of case been unconditionally approved and case not approved. Can the recommendation turn into a denial?
At the interview, I was asked to answer yes/no for citations/arrests etc, I answered NO, but I showed the officer my minor speeding tickets, which have been paid by me. The officer puts it in the file saying its a citation. Kind of worried, one because of the unclear language, and then, my speeding tickets.
After you officer recommends you for approval, a supervisor double checks his work to make sure there is no reason to deny your application. This happens to every file. Your application will almost certainly be approved and your oath ceremony scheduled.

Oath date is May 24, 2016

I have a question. I am about to move to San Diego next week. Should I update my case in the USCIS website for a change of address? or Call them directly and set up an info pass appointment with the new San Diego address?
Will this change delay my application. I have been waiting for the interview letter and nothing yet.
No change whatsoever.
Please help with any sort of advice
thanks
I would suggest infopass since you are moving so soon. That will help ensure the change is made in as timely manner as possible.

From the local field office!
Sweet. The oath letter might be in today's mail!!

Online status changed to:
Case Under Supervisor ReviewOn May 11, 2016, your case, Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number ABC############, was submitted to a supervisor for review. This is a standard process we use to ensure the quality of our decisions. We will let you know if we make a decision or need anything from you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
I do not want to give you false hope, but I would think you will have a decision by the end of the week.

My interview letter came from my local field office.
But you've already been interviewed... did you mean to ask about the oath ceremony letter?
Yes, I meant oath ceremony letter. It has not even been a long day; I really have no excuse.

Local field office, Missouri, elsewhere?
-
Congratulations.
It looks like those who are approved at the interview have an oath ceremony about 3-4 weeks later. I don't know identity got their letters at the interview or in the mail.
Thank you!!

Oath ceremony has been scheduled. I am in the Dallas office. If you were processed out of the Dallas office, what was the time between your online status updating to "Ceremony Scheduled" to the date of oath ceremony? Thank you.
We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt Number NBC*##########. We sent a notice with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by June 9, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address. -
What did you have to send?
My lawyer sent my rfe few days ago
We had to prove up our marriage. I sent in the following (approximately 120 pages):
1. Receipts and itineraries from four vacations we have taken together;
2. Joint Tax Return Transcripts from 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015;
3. Joint Credit Card Statements from Nov. 2014 to March 2016;
4. Hospital bills and checks showing payment from when we miscarried;
5. Renters and Auto Insurance policies showing we are both covered on same policy from October 2013 to September 2016;
6. Joint Leases for our apartment from March 2013 to January 2017;
7. A card showing that we are jointly enrolled in a health-care cost sharing program;
8. Certified copy of a document showing our marriage is also registered in France;
9. Photographs of us together with friends and family and of our religious wedding ceremony.

Nice. It's good that you're following up. Hopefully it's just a matter of an interview being overly meticulous and you'll be approved soon.
Best of luck.
Thank you. The RFE was for documents that can demonstrate a bona fide marriage. I think USCIS has an increased focus on marriage fraud since the San Bernardino shooting. The people near the San Bernardino terrorists have been accused of operating a marriage fraud ring.
When we went through ROC about a year or so ago, we did not even have to sit for an interview. So, proving the relationship is not a problem and USCIS was sufficiently convinced last year to quickly approve the ROC application.
When I put my wife's N-400 packet together, I included three-years tax transcripts as that was one of the options. However, tax transcripts alone apparently were insufficient and USCIS requested that we prove up the marital relationship all over again. That is no problem. I just would have appreciated knowing the ground rules before I put the package together per USCIS's checklist. I even accompanied my wife into the interview because I have a G-28 on file for her. The IO could have sworn me in and asked me questions if he wanted.
I think the moral of the story is that if you are applying under the three year rule, then you should prove up the marital relationship from wedding (or even before) to present. Even though the checklist allows you to get by with three years of tax returns and no other documents when applying under the three-year rule, you need to include sufficient documentation to prove up your marital relationship.
I will say this for the Dallas office: I know they are swamped (perhaps even overworked), but every IO has been extremely professional. The officer at the InfoPass this morning was not feeling well. My wife and I made a little small talk with her and, despite her obvious tiredness, was pleasant and very helpful.

Sent responses to RFE (post-naturalization-interview RFE) on April 15. Return receipt confirmed delivery on April 18. Attended InfoPass appointment this morning and officer confirmed that the documents sent and received were in the physical file. Officer also confirmed that file was under review and awaiting decision. Infopass appointment was made to ensure documents were in physical file and physical file remained in the Dallas Field Office.

Oh, sorry... I didn't mean to imply that it's not important or that they won't look at it and ask questions about it. I meant that at this point (before being placed inline) the file isn't even in the field office, and no interviewer would have looked at it. Also, I was trying to say that it would have nothing to do with a pronged background check.
It's good that our fellow applicant is checking up on the status of the application... that's perfectly normal... but there's no reason to be overly concerned at this point.
Gotcha!!

I am 100% sure that no one has even looked at what you wrote down in the employment history part of your application.
I am 95% sure that no one will have looked at that part when you sit down in front of your interviewer.
Maybe, but my wife was asked about employment at her interview.

Yes, a decision could not be made at the time of the interview.

Witamar,
It was by mail. The officer had not yet reviewed the file thoroughly at time of interview, which was very early in the morning. I looked back over the checklist uscis gave us and I should have provided additional documents. I told my wife it is all my fault.
