Tnx everyone, the RFE was basically for the adjustment of status. Hopefully, before the end of this month the EAD will be sent.

The K1 was started last yr July 28,2015, approved on August 12, 2015. Everything was completed around October

Morning vjs, a RFE was sent.last month that they needed me the petitioner to send my affidavit of support, though not working, but I've sent the response back and put $0 for my earnings. Last wk Monday, an update was sent that "RFE response received". Concerning the approval of the EAD (authorization to work) we haven't heard anything yet, we filed the stuff in December, and this is March, nothing yet the update is just "case received". Vjs, please how long does the EAD takes to be approved? tnx

Good evening everyone, my FIANCE is here, finally got married and sent in our proofs to USCIS on Dec. 28, and since then the USCIS update has been "Case Received" not until Friday when we checked back and saw that RFE notice was sent. The letter came in today, and stated that

"Though form I-864 was submitted initially but they needed the Petitioner"s I-864. I am the petitioner, I'm not working yet, but I used my dad's tax information. They needed this form to be submitted, do I need to give proofs that I'm not working yet, or just fill out the form I-864 and write $0 as my income, because from day 1, I've been using my dad as the sponsor. My dad still takes up the responsibility for my FIANCE, because he wants me to fully concentrate on my studies. Pls, I need your contributions on this visajourners tnx.

I plan submitting the form today, and pls do I have to buy 2 money orders FOR the processing? Is it going to be split or just one $1,070 or buy $985 and $85 for biometrics

2. Im using my parents as the cosponsor, they file together, but since it's only one person I can use for a cosponsor, I will use my dad's info, but I didn't see his complete W2, and he doesn't keep his pay stubs either.I only saw 2012 and2014, but not 2013. Can I just use his IRS transcripts???Thanks for the responses

3. Will I.choose the option the only sponsor or.the first of two.sponsors.for my.dad??

Pls, everyone who has done the package without any RFE"s or complications should list what were included on their cover page for this filing thnks VJ"s.

Good evening everyone. My fiance and I went to SSA last week Thursday to apply for his SSN, the card was sent in the mail.today but it reads "Valid for work only with DHS authorization" is this a normal thing or?

2. On form I-485 (permanent residence) page 2 part 3B where it says "list your present spouse name. I am the petitioner(lady) will I write my Father's last name (family name) or my husband's last name (family name)?

3 On form I-765 (employment authorization) question 16 I put C(9) is this ok?

4.On form I-131 (travel document) page 2 part 2 I clicked on 1(d) is this ok and am I going to write the intended date of departure, lenght of trip, purpose of trip on page 3, and write on a separate paper for part 7 on page 4? Even if he has no intention of traveling abroad while his AOS papers are pending? What can a genuine reason of visiting abroad be?

5. On form G-1145 (e-notification form) am I going to write his last name/mine

E.g if my last name is Jones, and his is Williams. Am I going to write Jones/Williams,because it says applicant/petitioner full last name, full first name, and middle name? I mean is it going to be his information or mine as the petitioner or his as the applicant?

6. Form G-325A (biography form) are we both going to fill it out or just only him adjusting his status? Tnx so much all.for your responses

We were told to come back on Dec 2, and we went. His SSN was successfully applied for, so we're waiting for it in 2 wks/less time. Tnx to all that contributed to answering my enquiries

We were asked to come back for his SSN application after 10days which will be nxt wk Wednesday, nothing more was asked

Good morning y'all, my fiance and I went to the SSA, for his SSN application, we were told to wait for it to be mailed to our mail after 10days of his entry, or come back next week Wednesday to avoid double SSN issuance. The question is can he start an under the counter work for the main time, while waiting to file for AOS? Tnx for your prompt responses

Good morning everyone, my FIANCE finally arrived in the U.S last Thursday. He wasn't given any I-94 at the POE, but immediately he arrived we filled out the online I-94, and we printed out the confirmation. Now, we'll be going to the social security office today for his SSN application. These are what we have for the application?

1. His valid passport with visa

2. His birth certificate

3. Online I-94 confirmation

4. The SSN application form

Hope it's not too early for the SSN application?, because I read somewhere that you have to be married before the SSN. Tnx for your responses

It took 3 more days for it to be picked, yes the ticket fare is increasing, but if you'll still be coming in Jan, then you have enough time, but there's no certainty in a reduced ticket purchase . I risked mine bcos he only has days left in naija, bcos d ticket fare is too much in dec/Jan. You can track ur passport update from http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-main-contactus.asp, then enter your passport number, click on track my passport for the update. I don't think the ceac website updates dat, even after he's picked up his passport, the ceac update still says issued since then and nothing more!!!

Congratulations but pls don't buy your ticket until your visa is at hand. They told my fiance to pick up his visa after 10 working days, but alas he just got it on Monday. Though, we risked buying the ticket last wk Friday bcos the ticket fare is increasing every secs, but he didn't get his passport back until Monday. Everybody's case is different, and everything in life is a risk, but you can never tell. I'll suggest that when it's 10 working days, just track it with ur passport number, and if it says no current update, that means it's been taken from the embassy and sent out to the DHL office you picked, but if it says it's ready for pickup, then you are good to go, best wishes and congrats once again....

Here's my question, I read somewhere on the SSN instructional page that "to apply for a SSN, the applicant (my fiance) has to have an ID, what can his ID be or can we apply for ID first before his SSN card? Because I've printed out all the forms needed to avoid any unnecessary delay. Im so confused,pls I'll need enlightenment tnx

There's no way the CO can be convinced, they go by what they see, there's a way to screenshot with the date..

SarahNick, pls do you mean that the EAD, AP, AOS must be filed concurrently? But how will someone show a.copy of receipt/other evidences that I-485 is pending, or what proofs will this pending application be when everything was filed together???. Pls enlighten and shed more light into this

He took recent additional evidences, but the CO didn't request for it, even though, my fiance told him, he had more recent and updated evidences. So, that depends on the CO though

2. Though, I used NigeriaDC cards, I submitted like 40copies in $2&$5, but for the trackable evidence, I used cent mobile which I store his number with his name, and it's highlighted

3.Yea, I screenshoted all our conversations e.g WhatsApp, Tango, Viber,IM, fb, but you should screenshot with the date, dat was what I did, and there was no issue. Best wishes...

Yeah our distance relationship was 5 yrs almost going to 6yrs before his interview and with chats from Instant Messenger, fb, WhatsApp,Tango, viber, NigeriaDC calling cards, online cent mobile calling cards, proposal ring receipt, western union,and hotel receipt of our names the CO was overly convinced. I only went once (1) within the last 2 yrs which was last year, that was my first visit outside the States. As per the conversation evidences, I printed from 2010 (daily-weekly-monthly-yearly) till 2days before he went for his interview in 2015). I frontloaded the package, and that was very helpful, I wish u best of luck...

Hi, I only visited Nigeria once last year, and this didn't cause any alarm during my fiance"s interview in Lagos. The only thing was that there was an update of our conversations from 2010-2015, this will prove beyond not having a bonafide relationship. I think this will help

He ought to be given a white paper for his VISA pickup, that's where the location for his visa will be written for pickup in 10 working days, so it should be ready by November 17, goodluck...
