  1. There are actually quite a few hotels not far from the embassy, but they're not cheap. We stayed in the Comfort Suites which was a 20 minute walk away and we paid around $170 including tax for a room for the 5 of us. It wasn't the greatest, but hey we were only staying for one night. I'd get the room booked asap as the closer to the date you get, the less choice you'll have. You might want to look at Airbnb too since you will probably be flying to Montreal so you won't have the issue of parking and you might find something a lot cheaper.

We made the point of finding the Consulate on the day before our interview and the one thing we discovered was that not many people were aware of where the consulate was. Let me know which hotel you end up booking and I'll try and give you some directions to the Consulate since there is no flag outside the building and it is not easy to find.

    Hello friend,

Immigrant Visa under F3 category 'Issued' to a family of three on October 25, 2016 (PD Dec 6, 2004).

  2. Dear mcm2004...

I intend to inquire about the interviews scheduled for november which are beyond the current PD of 22 december 2004...my PD is 5th january 2005 hence this interest ...

People kindly inform here the Priority Date, if anyone have received email/letter for interview scheduled in november 2016 .....

All CC applications may have been issued Interview letter till PD Dec 22, 2004. There have been couple of cases with PD in Nov/Dec-2004, issued Interview letter. You may refer earlier post few pages back to check their PD.

PD Nov 22, 2004 have been issued Immigrant visa on August 4, 2016.

Any CC visa applicant beyond PD Dec 22, 2004 may call NVC from Sept 26, 2016.

  3. guys my family has a case of cspa !! what do you advise us to do ? Pd may 2005

    Hello Friend,

The Primary Applicant with local residence address has to send a wriiten request letter to NVC, to review your (beneficiary) son/daughter's case cunder CSPA.

You may send this letter now so that when your PD becomes current, the NVC could exercise CSPA review (the beneficiaries CSPA calculation age should be (=<) 21 years).

You need to have follow-up with NVC after 10-12 working days to confirm whether they have received your request or not.

You may even send the CSPA review request through online public inquiry.

  4. Congratulations. Glad to hear that all is ok. We got an email back from NVC after using the public inquiry form that pretty much said "don't contact us, contact the embassy/consulate".

What really winds me up about this is the fact that NVC provided NO communication whatsoever in terms of my son's application and no instructions. Instead they just removed him altogether. If I don't hear from the consulate next week, I'll be emailing them every week until about the week before the interview and then I'll email daily.

    Thanks friend!

At the time of your interview, you may submit a written request to consider your son's Immigrant Visa Application under CSPA.

There should not be a major issue if your son's age is 21 using CSPA calculation. Of course anxiety shall prevail under such situation.

Consulate generally replies within 3 working days.

  5. Medicals booked for the 12th of September. I am very frustrated and disappointed with the way NVC have handled our application in relation to my son who turned 21 last year. We spoke several times with NVC over the course of this year to ensure that everything was ok with regard to our son's CSPA review. All they would say is that his CSPA review would be done when a visa became available.

Now that a visa has become available, we have discovered that our son is no longer on our application because he turned 21. Furthermore, we now have to instigate the CSPA review with the consulate ourselves. I have emailed the Montreal embassy because they don't accept phone calls and their automated response says that the review process (not CSPA review) will take up to 10 weeks, however, they will try to respond to our email in 5 business days.

So it seems like my son will not be going to the interview with us even though NVC have advised us to take him with us. We are going to get his medical done and will hand over the paperwork and his medical to the case officer. Unless the consulate tells us to bring our son, he will not be going. We have tried to be proactive and not reactive, however, NVC have let us down with regard to the information they have provided.

From my experience, one thing is crystal clear to me, the NVC agents are unable to provide consistent, clear and accurate innformation. Some of the agents are just lazy and will give you the minimum amount of information. Some will give you information that is just simply incorrect, whereas some will actually go away and try and find out the information for you. In essence, take what they say with a grain of salt, because to me, it appears that they themselves do not even know what the correct process is.

    Hello Friend,

Received Interview Appointment Letter; my son's name is included, Thank God!

  6. Yes, that is exactly what you need to do. Once you have your IL email, check it to see if your son is on there. If not, call your embassy/consulate and tell them the situation. Your son should be going for the interview at the same time as the rest of your family and they should be able to process the CSPA there. I'll update later once we have spoken to the consulate.

    Friend, Thanks once again!

  7. Yes do that. My wife asked me to speak with the agent. The agent was very helpful and she put me on hold twice to verify the information with a supervisor. She told me it is our responsibility to request a CSPA review now that a visa has become available. Even she could not understand why this information was not provided to us earlier. We have received our interview confirmation email today, so watch your email. Make sure you also advise the consulate. I will update here with more information as and when I have it.

    Hi Friend,

Thanks very much for your quick response.

So I need to send NVC the request to review my son immigrant visa application under CSPA through "Ask NVC" web page.

  8. My wife just spoke to NVC. Interview notifications have left their system today and people should be getting emails in the next few days. With regard to anyone with a child under CSPA review, we discovered that our son has disappeared from the application since he turned 21. The CSPA review that was carried out was a pre-review.

NVC have advised us to request a CSPA review for him using the public inquiry form from the ask nvc page on their website. We have also been told to take our son to the interview with all of the paperwork that we submitted and they will process CSPA again at that time. I will also be calling the consulate to advise them that our son will be coming to the interview.

    Hello Friend,

Even my son shall turn 21 in 2nd week of October (1995 BORN) before the interview scheduled on October 25.

So my friend, should I also request a CSPA review for him using the public inquiry form!

Please keep posted about the response given by the consulate.

  9. hello- hoping to get some advice with the following which i posted elsewhere- thanks

    Hello

I wasn't sure where to post this so please feel free to delete if in wrong section - i have posted it here and in F3

My priority date ( April 2005) F3 / I have no idea when our date will actually become current due to no movement for the past few months etc - All our and the petitioner paperwork was completed 2 months agao and submitted to NVC and they have confirmed all documents submitted and nothing outstanding- we now just have to wait and wait!!

i am the main applicant ( Married daughter over 21 of US Citizen)- the beneficiaries are my husband and 2 daughters....

My question is this please and i could do with your advise- if any of daughters were to marry in the next 12 months or so and if our priority date is still not current due to no movement/ retrogression etc...does this then mean that they would no longer be included in this petition??

    thanks

    Hello skyland235,

    If any of your daughters (F3 visa beneficiary) gets married, they shall loose the 'Unmarried Child' status;

hence officially they cannot be included in F3 visa application.

  10. I asked NVC about this and the agent I spoke with couldn't give me an answer. According to the bulletin the retrogression (if) it happens will only be temporary i.e. for September. From October it should pick up from the last current date which is the 1st of December 2004 so I would think we should see movement, but I could be wrong.

    Hello.

You cannot ask NVC to make a visa number available, you still have to wait like everyone else. From my experience, your son will be flagged up on the system automatically for CSPA review. If you have already submitted the DS-230 for your son, then NVC should have processed that. Once your application is sent to the embassy/consulate in your country, they will make the final CSPA determination and if eligible, your son will be called for interview along with the rest of the family i.e. all together.

    Hello friend,

Thanks so much for your response...

We are already done with all documents submission and that our case is complete since May 9, 2016.

    We need to cultivate patience!

  11. Your friend will not get an interview before her priority date becomes current. Since she is a derivative beneficiary she will be processed under CSPA. This will not come into effect until a visa is available for her (when pd becomes current). Her age will be frozen at that point and so long as her age under CSPA determination is under 21, she will be eligible for a visa and the one year "seek to acquire" time will become active from the first day of the month for the visa bulletin in which the pd became current. Since NVC cannot determine when a pd will become current, they cannot determine when CSPA processing will be completed.

    Hello Friend,

Our PD is Dec 6, 2004 under F3 category and the current PD is Dec 1, 2004. Our case is complete since May 2016.

My son shall turn 21 yrs in first week of October. Have I to send any email to NVC/Consulate requesting them to make

visa numbers available before PD becomes current?

How would NVC deal with our case?

    Hello friends,

Interview scheduled on August 4, 2016

  13. My case it´s not completed yet. I sent my documents and NVC lost. Last week i sent again and they received yesterday. So, the lady told me it tooks 30 days to review it. Now i have to wait...

    Hello RafaoNY,

I will appreciate if you share the information as to how the NVC handles the CSPA cases after we write them to consider the cases of our unmarried children crossed the age of 21 under CSPA.
