  1. Sorry, I meant April 2013, not 2012. Oops!! Yes, he got his condition of marriage removed and received his new GC.

The time it takes to become a citizen is much depending on where you live and the workload at that office and if there is anything making the background check drag out. It can be any where from 3 to who knows.

When you say "3 to who knows", do you mean 3 months?

  2. My husband moved here from Scotland in February 2012. We got married in March 2012 and he got his GC in April 2012. So that means he can apply for citizxen ship April 2016, right? Also, he works for a company that has offices all over the world. He and I have been discussing him transferring to the Glasgow office after he becomes a citizen. We most likely won't live there the rest of our lives and would eventually return to the US. Is that allowed once he's a citizen?

How long does it take to become a citizen after applying?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. My husband moved here under the k1 visa over three years ago. He recently started a job at a company that works here and all over the world, including the UK (he is from Scotland). Nothing against the U.S., but the UK has better schools for our children and we ultimately feel that it would be a better place to raise a family. If we were to move before he gets citizenship here in the U.S., what would we have to do if we decided to come back to the U.S.at a later time?
